This is a very elegant coffee house just next to the Albertina Museum. We secured a seat inside and had coffee and the delicious local pancake with plum jam. Great service and atmosphere. Prices seemed a little high but not surprising for the area. read more

Modern bar and restaurant with a chic downtown atmosphere. Probably my favorite setting for any restaurant or bar in Vienna so far. We popped in mid day for a sparkling water and a croissant. I ended up circling back at the end of the day for a couple bars after going through the exhibitions at the Albertina. The bar embodies the same sentiment as the museum. A moderate sized collection / offering, but a great quality for what is present. Solid but limited selection of whiskies. I was seeking a bit more hydration, so I settled on a couple beers. Service at both the bar and tables was quick and attentive. Seating was comfortable all around. It seemed like the cafe is known for its coziness as I noticed one table lounged for at least two and a half hours. read more

Unless you've already spent your day at the museum Albertina I can't imagine heading to DO & CO Albertina for a meal. It's not that you shouldn't but rather that one doesn't tend to dine at museum-affiliated restaurants without also making a visit to the museum. That said, DO & CO is far better than almost any museum restaurant I can recall. A wide and varied Mediterranean menu means that you may find yourself with a luscious plateful of Middle East-skewing food while others at your table consume fresh pasta or Shakshuka. The menu seems to contain an appeal for everyone and the nicely-appointed interior contributes to the feeling that this is a bit of a splurge, a place to relax and savor. Both the food and service here were far better than I'd have predicted for a museum-affiliated restaurant though a little research tells me that DO & CO is a hospitality group that operates in the field of hotels, restaurants, and lounges. I'm not saying you should make a stop at DO & CO if not first making a stop at the museum Albertina but if you're heading to the museum, your day will certainly be enhanced with a stop here when you're done. read more

Albertina is one of the best museums I have ever visited and to boot they have a restaurant of the same caliber. Equally, DO & CO is one of the best museum restaurants I have been to in the world, it can stand in its own without the Albertina and will surely have loyal patrons. The service is an overall 5, the staff know the menu and the wine and cocktail list well, and the food is to rave about. The restaurant with its leather walls are absolutely stunning and the ambiance and menu are definitely a cut above most museum restaurants. read more

Very nice museum cafe. Lovely outdoor seating and very nice servers. Expensive, though. Aperol Spritz which costs under 6 euro most places was 9 euro. My soup of broth and veggies was 6 euro. I too a picture of the menu. There are tables and there's a lounge chair area. Bathroom are is great. Nice place to relax but be aware you are paying a premium. read more

Fun Cafe inside the Albertina Museum. Our service was very good and the menu offered lots of great choices. The fruit and yogurt smoothie featured fresh fruit, gelato and was refreshing without being too sweet. Great coffee and wine choices. We were visiting the Albertina museum and got hungry, so we thought we'd try the cafe, despite knowing that a cafe with a captive audience usually isn't worth the money. However, I was surprised by how good the food and service was. My cold beer and hot panini sandwich came out quickly and were just what I needed. The green salad was fresh and nicely dressed. The decor was classy and the service was friendly. Yes, it was a bit pricey but that's to be expected inside the museum. Overall I was pleased. read more

The restaurant is located in the first district just behind the famous opera and run by DO und CO, an international catering giant known for quality( they cater to business class sections of different airlines , first class lounges etc..) The venue is classy , and our table had a magnificent view of the opera. The white linen was super crisp and Lucas our server very attentive The restaurant is known for fish with Asian flavors. So we had fried calamari which was flavorful but maybe a little chewy: so difficult to get this right!! Then caramelized black cod Asian style , a classic dish and this one did not disappoint: perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The grilled Turbot was accompanied by a puree of celery on a bed of lentils: very good. The shared desert was an Austrian classic: Mohr im hemd . It is like the English Christmas pudding covered with hot chocolate and whipped cream: nice way to finish a delightful evening. The restaurant is in the higher price range , but the quality of the food together with the view and the classy ambiance makes it very worth it. It is a place to celebrate some special occasion or just a nice evening out ;they also have a breakfast menu and you can have it outside with the same great views. That's what I am planning to do before leaving Vienna! read more

This is a top notch spot in my opinion. Let's start with the decor -- truly fantastic. It was historic yet modern and the perfect mix and match. I really appreciated the beautiful ceiling design which reminded me of Japanese walls. The place is laid out well with a hallway behind tables (separates by a line of booth seating) for wait staff to grab food with little disruption to those dining. The service, while not 5 star for the US was quite good for Europe. The staff spoke quality English and could speak to the specifics of the food. The food was spectacular. My favorite was the baked sushi which was a selection of 5 pieces of crispy rice topped with unique toppings including tuna, hamachi, salmon, avocado, and beef bulgogi. This is one of my top 50 dishes of all time. For my main I had the basic pasta with tomato sauce. The pasta was cooked a perfect al dente and while there may have been a tad too much cheese for my liking, I know it was likely the perfect amount for the majority of people who love cheese. If there was a knock it was that I had to ask multiple times for my check. If I'm ever back in Vienna I'll definitely be back at Do&Co Albertina. read more

Recommended by the hotel concierge at the Bristol Hotel in Vienna. Modern International with an Asian twist. Just had the caramelized black cod and my husband had the saddle of lamb. The fish was caramelized with miso and cooked to perfection as was the lamb with subtle and exquisite Indian spice and chutney flavors. The service and waitstaff were very pleasant and attentive. Truly enjoyed our dining experience and would most definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

A mixed review. The food is presented as small works of art, which seems appropriate in an art museum of this level. Food: 5. It is pretty expensive, which i should expect at a place like this. Price: $$$$. Atmosphere: quite classy, but why did they have to seat us at a table in the bright sunshine, when others (admittedly larger) were free? If you go here, be forewarned: the word "Gedeck" (3.50 euros) on the left side of the menu means you'll be charged for bread and butter, without being asked. Fortunately, I speak German, so I had a serious talk with the manager, who felt led to teach me about central European customs. Thank you for the lesson, but it doesn't line up with the customs I've learned elsewhere. I told him I thought it was quite problematic, and he said he'd remove the charge, which he did. Call me a cheap American, but that practice isn't transparent. I'd suggest going elsewhere close by, for example the Palm House restaurant, just below it in the park. German speakers say "das Auge isst mit" (the eyes eat as well), but my eyes weren't particularly hungry today. read more

Ok, here's the deal. 1. Go in the summer for brunch and make a reservation for outdoors. Splendid. 2. Only look at the right side of the menu. That's right. Right side. Everything on the left is about 20 Euros, and trust me, you'll be just as happy with the omelette, fruit and pastry issues on the left side. 3. Check, but do not say yes to the bread they automatically put down on your table. Seems if you accept it, you're paying for it. Say waaa??? But check that cause i left before the final bill. So why the 4 stars? One, its nice. No the bathroom so much, that's fine. But the atmosphere, especially if you can get a table outside is pretty damn nice. Two, the salmon omelette. And typically I don't even like omelettes. However, I love salmon and it also had avocado, so I thought, eh? why not. Turned out to be an excellent price; you're definitely full off of it for under 6 Euros, and it is so fresh... every time I've had it. Just perfect. Coffee at around 4 Euros. Some look all fancy. Its an ok cup in terms of taste. So, go. Make sure you're not paying for your friends, and have a nice chat outside. Its also a flight upstairs, so you feel outside the city and its nice and tranquil. And that's why my friends, 4 stars. read more

It's sad that I need to give this restaurant 3 stars because their chef is not to blame--my cod and veggies were excellent and it is a signature dish. However, the waitress, clop, clop, clop, pouring our water and wine fast and quickly departing without eye contact and her fellow server, same, impersonal sort of style that felt like he didn't even know we were there, was a huge turnoff. The spot is argueably one of the better ones you can find in the centre of Vienna. Me and a friend of mine decided to try the place out for a coffee and a dessert. We got greeted by a young man in a suit - our server for the afternoon. The coffee and pastries were served to us quickly and it tasted quite good too. However, we noticed that the server didn't reply to our "thank you", in fact he did not make eye contact at the time and left without saying a word. After slowly finishing our coffee and pastries we thought it was time to ask for the check and be on our way, since we had to get to our bus that would depart from the Praterstern within an hour or so. But it became evident that our server, and every other server at Albertina, completely ignored us and mostly rushed back and forth to one of the few tables that were occupied in the outside serving area. The business was slow but they still managed to send 5-6 servers to one of the tables. As time went by (45 min to be precise), I finally decided to go inside and pay the bill. The server almost had no recollection of our order and after I refreshed her memory she declined my credit card. The reason being credit cards were only accepted from big spenders. Instead I payed in cash and left the snobby eaterie with a taste of disgust and humiliation. read more

I had the ribs, which was served as juicy cubes of meat already cut off the bone - saving me from getting my fingers messy - and shared the panna cotta for desert. Went in with lofty expectations, but mixed feelings at the end of our dinner. Food- pretty darn good; service- spotty at best and with an "off" flavor that I can't quite describe. Right from the get go, you don't get a warm welcome and when we were seated, the communication just seemed odd. When we ordered cocktails from the menu , the first response was essentially "just know it might take more time to get the drinks from the bar" -- as opposed to what/where? We reserved for 10 p.m. And so it was not crowded. The food was good but not spectacular. The service wavered between inattentive to rude. We never seemed to have one person assigned to our needs. We had to get up and pour our own wine! The host had touted the in season chanterelles but two waiters seemed not to know that we could order as an appetizer. Very odd. They were in a hurry to have our order but thereafter forgot us for much of the evening. Never again tho we had a great meal there two years ago. read more

Excellent experience. My wife and i stopped there after going to the Albertina earlier in the day and had a torte and coffee. So impressed with the food and service we went back later in the evening for more. The waiter was very friendly took time to seat us outside away from smokers as we requested and took the time to explain each torte to my wife. He was very attentive. Ended up leaving a 20+% tip which I know is not typical for Vienna but i couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. A beautiful clear warm spring evening in Vienna certainly helped. read more
