Terrible experience! Noam has an aggressive off-putting disposition. As long as you agree with him, and let him do whatever he pleases, then you're his buddy. If you question his work you will be met with hostility and condescension, particularly toward women! We do not recommend. The owner might try to deny but we DEFINITELY HAVE THE CORRECT BUSINESS, 100% SURE. We want to save others from the stress and anxiety we went through. read more

This was a complete remodel of master bathroom, closet and some electrical in other parts of my home. During the bidding process for my project, Do It Right Construction owner Noam impressed me as a very honest, knowledgeable and responsive person. He did not try to upsell or make irresponsible promises. He made a lot of excellent practical suggestions that helped me decide on the scope and details of my remodel. His price was competitive. The project went extremely smoothly. I had told Noam up front I wanted a project that ran with minimal stress and drama. I think Noam took this to heart and he was on site every day and addressed all the issues and concerns that came up with no fuss at all. I came to really trust Noam to take care of things properly. I did modify the project a bit as things went along and was very happy with the way Noam accommodated this. His crew, notably Antonio and Ricardo are meticulous craftsmen who arrived punctually, were respectful, quiet as possible, and cleaned up after each day. I am pretty picky about tilework and am delighted with my new shower. All the little details look just right. I was nervous about some pocket doors they were installing but these came out very well too. I am just loving my new bathroom and closet!! I told Noam before the project I would like it done by a certain date and Noam worked overdrive to get this done, including several days with extra crew. He finished right on time. I asked him to return to address a few nitpicky things which his crew did very graciously. Even the city inspector was very impressed with their work and said as much! I would certainly hire DIR construction again and give them my best recommendation. My only suggestion would be Noam changes the name to Do It Perfectly Construction! read more

We recently had the pleasure of working with Noam and his team on a complete kitchen remodel and Do It Right Construction exceeded my family's expectations. Noam has a calm and relaxing demeanor, which was much appreciated to offset any nerves from undertaking a big kitchen project. He has a tremendous amount of experience, and it shows. Noam has assembled a "dream team" - the best of the best. Every one of them was dedicated to making sure the project was completed to the highest standards. They were also very respectful of our space and worked diligently with the least amount of disruption as possible. Each of my family members commented on how quickly the time passed, which was a testament to how efficiently Noam's team worked. Noam was an excellent contractor and was always available to answer my questions and was extremely responsive throughout the project. The project was completed on time (in fact, ahead of schedule), within budget, and the quality of the work was outstanding. Noam is also a true professional. In the couple of instances where additional work was necessary, Noam took it in stride and came up with solutions. He was also able to seamlessly work in an additional fireplace refacing project during the kitchen remodel. On top of that, his team fixed a gate in my yard that was previously broken. The team used the gate to enter and exit my property and they took it upon themselves to fix it for me at the end of the project. I'm not sure if it's possible to find another team that would go above and beyond in this manner! We cannot recommend Noam and his team highly enough. They are a professional, talented, and trustworthy group of people who take great pride in their work. Pros: Noem is responsive, shows up when he says, finishes the job when he says, and his quote WAS fair (with caveats below), not the highest and not the lowest. Knows city codes and when to hire an architect. Cons: Does not admit it when he makes a mistake. Does not make good on his mistakes without charging you for it. Does not take pride in his work (not detail oriented). Is not patient with picky people. Finding good contractors is hard so when I came across the great reviews and saw that Noem is not flaky, the decision to hire him was not hard. We gutted our entire house and moved walls around. Expanded our kitchen, created two closets, a brand new laundry room and a brand new bathroom. Our biggest issue was his temperament and the amount of extra charges we incurred because of mistakes on his part. When we made a mistake like not realizing we had to move a vent (after drywall was done) to make room for a chandelier base, we paid for it, as we should. But when he made a mistake like not squaring off the corners in our dining room while squaring off the corners in the connected hallway, he would not admit fault. He claimed when he asked us about corners, he was only referring to the hallway. Not true. He never explicitly named any room. He asked if we want square or round corners so we naturally assumed he meant all corners that were being plastered. We had to pay $700 to square off the remaining corners in the dining room connecting to the hallway. This was only one of MANY mistakes like that which he would not own and flat out denied costing us $$$. Listing them here would be too long to read. What is most difficult to endure is Noem's unyielding attitude. For example, when he made a mistake in the bathroom, admited it only AFTER I showed him proof via text (before that he argued), and offered to redo the entier bathroom, we let it go even though we were very dissapointed that our bathroom, built from scratch did not turn out the way we wanted it. We didn't want to be unreasonable. But when we asked him not to charge us for the squaring of the dining room corners because we didn't have him redo the entire bathroom, he would not budge. You decide if that's fair or not. Lastly, if you like good craftsmenship, he's not your guy. Noem uses one guy and his brother for laying tile, plaster, drywall, skim coating, base boards etc. For example, they laid down tile without plastic spacers and because of that we did not get the spacing we wanted AND they are completely uneven. The wall in our bathroom and kitchen should have been spaced 1/8 and the floor 1/16. See for yourself closeups with ruler and pulled back to see how uneven they are. The wall wasn't quite 1/8 and way smaller in other areas. The floor didn't even come close to our agreed 1/16. We were so very bummed. This was supposed to be our dream bathroom built from scratch. There was no reason for it not to be what we wanted. And again, we did not have him redo it because we were being reasonable. Another example, our modern square baseboards did not have straight smooth edges on the exposed sides. Later when we did the bedrooms ourselves, we realized by sheer coincidence his worker was using the wrong tool, a circular saw, the same one we used that gave us uneven edges. So we rented the proper tool, a miter saw, instead which gave us perfectly straight and smooth edges. Expect lots of shortcuts like that to save money if you care about details. Also expect for them to make asthetic decisions without running it by you like the color of the fan vent cover in the bathroom and kitchen, or like not discussing options on how to bring the corners of the tile together in the bathroom step (see phtoos) etc. etc. etc. By the end, the job became a disaster with screaming matches as his unyielding and argumentative nature got to me. He does not aim to please the customer and based on older reviews about not charging for changes, he has clearly learned he needs to charge for every change but the problem is, aside from charging you when he makes a mistake, he takes advantage and extra charges are too high. All in all, he would have gotten 4 stars if he was patient, admited when he was wrong and did right by us. He would have gotten 5 stars if he was detail oriented. As a business owner myself, I know what it's like to be on the other side and I would never treat a paying customer, no matter how picky, the way he treated us when he dissagreed with us. Besides, we felt after $150,000 we were entitled to being picky. Don't you think? read more

We loved working with Noam and his crew. We did a whole house remodel including moving walls, gutting the kitchen and multiple bathrooms, replacing all the flooring and rebuilding closets. Noam was wonderful to work with. He is very honest guy and easy to talk to. He was always quick to respond and at the site all the time to connect with us and make sure the work was top notch. I felt his pricing was very fair and he was very creative as suggesting solutions that sometimes, actually saved us some money. He made sure to walk through the project each week with us to review what specific work was being done and make sure it was still consistent with our understanding of the project plan. He was incredibly detailed in his questions and comments when clarifying the scope of work. His organization and forethought in this way was so helpful to clarify things before they might have been executed differently than what we anticipated. His team was very hard working and did beautiful work. They were there everyday without fail. Their tile work and detailed cabinet work was beautiful. He was also incredibly professional when it came to issues that did arise, as they always will in such a large project. We had issues with our flooring that was the fault of a vendor manufacturing error. Noam stepped up and was incredibly diligent in solving the problem. He didn't disappear like a lot of contractors do. And he covered the costs for correcting the error out of his own pocket, even though he and his crew were not directly at fault. I find that remarkable. We would highly recommend him and will use him again for any and all of our other projects. read more

Noam was recommended to me by my best friend after he renovated parts of her house. She is very detail oriented and on top of everything, so the fact that she was pleased and impressed was a good sign. We hired Noam for a major project that included remodeling both bathrooms in our home, the primary bedroom/closet, kitchen and all new plumbing (repiping the entire house, replacing the main water and gas lines and adding a tankless water heater). The project also required significant electrical work.  Noam's main crew (two crews of two people each) is just fantastic. Antonio, Ricardo, Adrian and Tomas are wonderful. They are incredibly talented craftsmen who take a lot of pride in their work. My household has medically vulnerable people so we required everyone to be masked at all times while inside the house, and we used strategically placed hepa filters around the house. Everyone followed our protocols and respected each other, no problem. Better yet, everyone stayed healthy during the three-month project which spanned over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Noam brings in other third party vendors for things like electric, air conditioning, plumbing, kitchen cabinets, etc. and those crews were also very good.  Our project started a few days later than originally scheduled but finished on time, which was great. Noam's crew always arrives early (hanging out in their cars) and is ready to start promptly at 8am. They pack up and leave at 4pm. It's a long day and they only take a lunch break. They work really hard and don't waste time. The crew would also ask me questions about the way I wanted certain things done and presented me with various options to make sure that I as the client had a choice in the way things were done, when possible. I enjoyed working with Noam because he is very calm and chill, and kept the environment from becoming chaotic. He is also extremely accessible by phone and text. He will not ghost you or avoid your calls. He also comes to the site nearly every day to check on the progress of the project. He cares about the work being done and your satisfaction as the client. Noam is old school so don't expect some fancy, cutting edge 3D rendering of your remodel plans. Expect sketches on a notepad. Noam provides a schedule with dates by which he expects materials ordered, (by you.. or by him, client's choice for the most part) and in-hand. Even though I had these dates down on paper, sometimes I forgot about certain deadlines due to the sheer volume of materials needed, and therefore I didn't have something ready when his crew needed it. I'd recommend that clients add digital calendar reminders to stay on top of everything. Luckily, we were never set back by those few forgetful moments on my part. I'd recommend running every single material past Noam (prior to purchase) and review all the specs with him in person. All the measurements, etc. For example, I almost bought a kitchen window without argon gas because I didn't know that it is needed to pass a city inspection. I did accidentally purchase a bathtub with the drain on the wrong side, and nobody caught the error. You cannot over-communicate. Double check everything.  If this is your first time doing construction, be aware that some delivered items will arrive damaged. We received damaged bathtubs, toilets, etc. So that takes extra time to send back and get replaced. I would've ordered everything super early if it weren't for the fact that we didn't have enough room to store the items. Noam and his crew were incredibly helpful in inspecting all of our deliveries as soon as they arrived, correctly anticipating that some items would need to be returned and replaced. When Noam writes up an estimate and contract, he includes allowances for certain materials with a fixed price (for the sake of getting an estimate), for example, $3 per square foot of bathroom floor tile. The allowances included are doable in the sense that you can find materials at those low costs, but you'll most likely go over those allowances when it comes time to actually buy materials, thus you will spend more money than what is laid out in the contract. In our case, this mostly applied to tile and flooring, and some appliances like bathroom vanities. You get what you pay for and when you see materials like tile in person, you can easily tell the difference in quality between the cheap stuff and the higher end materials.  I also appreciated that Noam has vendors he works with frequently for things like kitchen countertops. There are so many places that sell slabs. The vendor he recommended to us was great and we really enjoyed working with them.  Lastly, I really appreciated that any time there was a small hiccup or if something unexpected happened (which was rare), Noam told us about it quickly and/or troubleshooted problems immediately. We really enjoyed working with Noam and his crew, and plan to do so again for future projects. read more

This was our second time working with Noam and his crew and we could not be happier with how our renovation turned out. We hired them to remodel our master bath after working with them on a previous project, converting our garage into an office. I can say with total confidence that Noam and his team are reliable, communicative, and honest. Working with them was a total breeze. We had extensive water damage to the upstairs of our house and hired Noam to rebuild it for us. When we hired him, the upstairs had been taken down to the wood framing and he rebuilt 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, including closets and linen cabinets. One of the reasons we chose Noam was his attention to detail. Prior to hiring him, I had asked to see one of his projects so that I could make sure things were straight and had clean lines, especially the tile. I was really pleased with this aspect of his work, and I tend to be picky about this sort of thing. And the custom closet doors and cabinets he made for us are perfect. Noam communicated clearly about the timeline and when we would need to make our selections for things like the vanities, tile, and paint colors. When he encountered a problem, such as the doors we wanted being out of stock, he informed us right away, told us our options, and how much it would cost. Because we had filed a homeowner's claim and hired a public adjuster, we asked Noam to inform us if he encountered additional costs. He did so and provided appropriate documentation, which helped us to get additional funds to cover those expenses. Throughout the entire job, Noam and his crew were professional and punctual. He was in communication with his crew daily (even when he got sick) and they finished the job on time. Even toward the end of the job, he was at our house every day to make sure that things were getting done right. Hiring a contractor is one of the most stressful things you can do. Especially if you've never managed a remodel before. It took me over two months to find a contractor that made me feel comfortable. It's a lot of money and lots can go wrong! I had a simple project and I found Noam through Service Magic. He was very highly rated with lots of reviews (most only have 5 or so reviews). I also called to check a couple of his references. His quote was detailed and his price was in the middle of the range. Not the cheapest and definitely not the most expensive. The best thing I can say about Noam is he delivers on everything he says. No surprises, no extra charges at the end, and he's on time!! He finished in EXACTLY the number of days that he promised. That is amazing for a contractor! He was also there every day (once or twice) to check on progess. And he was flexible in our design changes and he took care of the tiny details without asking for more money. Example: we initially told him we wanted wood baseboards but then asked for tile baseboards; he said he would do it even tho it would have required a lot more labor. In the end, we went back to wood (he went to three stores to find matching ones) but his flexibility was much appreciated. His guys also took care not to damage any part of the house during the messy construction process. Some dusty floor areas aside, the house (including outside staging areas) were cleaned up very nicely. No nicks on the walls or floors. I would highly recommend him. You can use him for a full design project or barebones labor work (where you make all the desing decisions). My project was closer to the latter. read more

Do It Right Construction gutted and remodeled my one and only bathroom in December 2009. While this review is very late in getting in, I highly recommend Noam Itzhaki. He is ethical, talented and fair. At the time of this work I had been in 'construction' for about a year and a half, having a pool/landscape/garage under construction as well. He was so easy to work with. He is egoless. I had ideas of what I wanted and he made them all happen without a fuss. Other contractors tried to talk me out of my ideas and pushing theirs and all priced much higher. One wanted me to remove the window, and putting a tiny one at the very top, saying rain shower would cause leaks. To this day, my bathroom is not only stylish, it has been easy to maintain. I recently experienced a mini flood in the bathroom, and I had a plumber come in who diagnosed that the shower needed re-grouting. The bathroom flooded twice during his visit and bathroom sink backed up spewing tar-like, smelly sludge, however his diagnosis was shower needed re-grouting. I called a fellow who had re-grouted before and he said he did not think the grout was the issue and refused to even take a look. I contacted Noam, who came by with his assistant, and after running shower, flushing toilet, checking under the house, the sink backed up again. Noam diagnosed 'Clog in Sewer Line' and today I am waiting for another plumber to fix the problem. I write this now because without Noam, I would not know what else to do? I found Noam online and from my first meeting with him I felt comfortable that I had found the right guy for the job. Noam was knowledgable and easy to deal with. I interviewed 2 contractors for a complete kitchen and bath remodel this Spring. I really liked them both and the estimates were within 10% of one another. I selected Do It Right Construction because of their responsiveness, ideas and project management approach. Noam Itzhaki told me he would be onsite everyday; his crew would work everyday; he would be accessable; and he would come in at budget and time estimate. And they did! Both rooms were completed just under 5 weeks. It was an amazingly stressless process. We actually added on a phase II component and I will be hiring them again in 2014 for another remodel project on the garage. The work is excellent - I LOVE my new kitchen and bathroom. The workmanship and quality is terrific. With the exception of Noam, each contractor sent a high-pressure salesperson to talk to us regarding the project. My Fiance and I were looking to get our kitchen and 2 bathrooms remodeled and had 3 contractors to interview. One contractor was pushy and was trying to force me to sign a contract with him right then and there...the other seemed very distracted and couldn't focus. Noam our 3rd contractor went through everything we wanted to do and really listened to us. He wasn't pushy and took detailed notes on everything we said we wanted. His crew is extremely professional and courteous taking care to drape plastic over my furniture so it doesn't get damaged and they were respectful of my carpet laying drop clothes so as not to track dirt into my home. The best thing I think is that Noam was on the work site every single day so if I had any questions or concerns he could instruct his crew right then and there. He would also meet me at Lowes to help pick out appliances, tile, countertops and such. Overall Noam is a very hands on contractor and his crew is both reliable and professional. Their time line may be a little longer than others...but when you see the finished product you'll understand why. They take a lot of time to make sure the job is as perfect as possible. We hired Noam and his crew to do numerous improvements in a tight time frame before we moved into our house, including updating a half bath to include a shower, installing floors, smoothing out ceilings, and assorted other tasks. From the outset, he brought strong, practical ideas to the table, and we valued his knowledge and commitment to completing the project on time.
