Scott & Joe is coined "the gayest cheese shop in America" & while I haven't surveyed all of the other cheese shops in America, I agree. It's a quaint little shop tucked amongst other small shops on Broadway. Scott is behind the fully stocked cheese case serving & SERVING with a smile. He was patient while we perused the case & asked questions. We sampled some cheeses to figure out what we like & what we didn't & ended up leaving with some yummy treats. Scott & Joe also have a little bit of a marketplace with delicious options of cured meats, crackers, jams, jellies, mustards & the like: perfect for any dinner party or snack plate. In my opinion, the best part is a not so secret little bistro section in the back where you can have a seat & be served some of the most delicious sandwiches, salads, & cheeseboards in the Hudson Valley. I got the Ciao Bella this time around, but it was hard to choose because I wanted them all! Everything was so fresh & delicious - I can't wait to return! Yesterday was my first visit in several years, and even then I would guess I made no more than two visits even then. When I walked in, the conversation with the owner, Lauren, started like this: Me: "I met you a couple years ago with..." Lauren: "Oh yeah, you're Michael, right?"
