I don't know how I didn't know about this place sooner. Haven't tried the ravioli yet, but the cavatelli were great.

Everytime I come up from Florida to visit family I always stock up at Dante's. Stores like that don't exist in Florida.

I tried to get a description of the menu items but he wasn't able to help and Noone in the resturant chimed in to assist despite being in earshot. The food was okay, a bit pricey. I ordered the kids size pasta with ravioli and buttersage for 12bux. I told the cashier I wanted a thick creamy sauce and her said yes but upon getting the order I realized he didn't understand me. The meal was edible but I have had good pasta and this would not be at the top of my list. If you have allergies I would be careful eating here as they also seem to struggle with separating food. I say this because as I was chewing I realized I was chewing on something and it seemed to be a piece of uncooked chicken. Would I eat here again? No but if you want a simple pasta meal go for it .

I thought the fettuccine could have been slightly chewier. My friend ordered rigatoni with the norma sauce, and she enjoyed it as well. Cheese is extra $ but a sprinkle of Parmesan was provided for free! Our meal also came with a slice of bread while we waited for our pasta. Our food came quickly, and the space was lovely and clean. We enjoyed our meal here and would return again to try the other pastas and sauces!

They have lots of variety of ravioli and the spinach and portobello were good. Cooked in a normal amount of time and were flavorful. Fresh bread sold there was good. But while I waited for a fried seafood dinner order not far off on Mamaroneck Ave., I thought stopping here would be good. Ugggh. I was impressed with Mercurio's pasta supply. An additional item of note, freezers are clearly labeled, pasta is all frozen and there's a good assortment of convenient Italian pre-prepared, pre-packaged pasta+ meat, pasta+veggie filling meals AND more. The Spinach Lasagna (bought for my mom) and Butternut Squash Ravioli (for me) were easily my two top picks. I also picked up Mozzarella Sticks and non-meat Italian red sauce. As an avid seafood lover, I noticed a few seafood-filled pasta which will probably get some other time. I don't think price was bad at all- then again I can't gauge it with anything else. CA$H only- by the way. Even though I didn't make a big buy, by the time I left, I was way past the maybe-I-should-watch-what-I-eat. But I'll enjoy... now.

Well let me tell you...I'm glad I went in. This is a truly an authentic and fully stocked Italian deli. Once you walk in...the aroma of pecorino romano and parmigiano cheese just hits you and boy does it smell good! You have a great assortment of pasta, canned goods, jarred goods and packaged Italian delicacies. The deli has a very nice and large assortment of Italian and American cold-cuts and there is plenty to choose from (imported cheeses, mortadella and prosciutto) just to name a few. They have a nice steam table with an assortment of hot food and dishes to choose from. Too many to mention. They have fresh mozzarella (which they make in the back) salted and unsalted, freshly made Italian sausage (hot and sweet), scamorza (dried mozzarellas) and a wonderful selection of all kinds of olives. They also have a nice selection of breads to buy. Not to mention their Italian pastries, cakes and boxed panettones that they display nicely on their countertops. I decided to order a prosciutto, mozzarella and roasted pepper hero with a side of cucumber with tomato salad. And I ordered a small tray of lasagna and a couple of rice balls (arancini) and a dish of broccoli rabe to take home. This place is cozy, has a lot of Italian foods to choose from and the clerks behind the counter were all very polite and helpful. This is truly a great little gem for this area. Great Italian deli! I highly recommend them.......

While each pasta shape has a unique cooking time, just about every package instructs one to cook the noodles until they reach the "desired consistency"/"al dente." This phrase literally translates from Italian to mean "to the tooth." It describes the texture of cooked pasta when it's tender but firm and chewy when one bites into it. Located on Center Avenue in Westwood, my colleague and I had the opportunity as first-timers at Al Dente Pasta Fresh Pasta Co. for lunch. Upon entering their casual and friendly vibe, we were greeted by the staff and had the place to ourselves in their dining area with an open kitchen. Their menu features a fantastic variety of appetizers, salads, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, and desserts. The star of this establishment has to be the fresh homemade pasta dishes made from Caputo Semola flour imported straight from Italy, accompanying the amazing sauces, each crafted with care and creativity. We decided on their Pasta Bar--Spicy Chili Vodka Cavatelli with Chicken Cutlet and Bolognese Pappardelle. Each came with fresh focaccia bread. The food arrived, and one can taste the difference of freshness. It was absolutely delicious using the high-quality ingredients. The portion was just right as well as the price. Our server, Hunter, was friendly and accommodating. We even had a chance to make small talk with the owner; Joe connected next door at the sister location, Luciano's, for pizza and garlic knots. It's Old World charm with a modern twist, and we can't wait for a repeat performance.

From the moment we walked in, it was all that I wanted- reminiscent of the Italian shops and delis my parents would take me to when I was a kid. The ambiance told me right away that the sandwich I sought (the 'Casa') was going to be good....as did the two guys in line ahead of me, one who went so far as to say it would be life changing. Service was great- super helpful and patient as we perused the counter. Wanting to be thorough () we ordered two Casa's....one on Ciabatta, and one on a hero. First off....both bread vehicles were incredible. The hero was crunchy on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside, while the ciabatta was perfectly thin (allowing you to fully enjoy all of the fresh, delicious ingredients), with a golden crust. Just perfect. Oh yeah- the ingredients.... The Casa is filled with perfectly sliced prosciutto, house made mozzarella, sun dried peppers, and balsamic glaze. The balsamic tied everything together beautifully and was a wonderful touch to the sandwich, while the mozz....well...I'll say this... If you ask 10 people on Arthur Ave who makes the best Mozzarella around, and a good number of people are going to tell you it's Casa Della. And I'm here to tell you that their Mozzarella is the truth. It's delicious, creamy, flavorful...it's the kind of stuff that will have you standing in front of the establishment, Casa in hand (and mouth) without a care in the world, or whether or not people are staring at you while you scarf or down. It's that good. Also- prices are extremely reasonable, and you receive a ton of value for your dollar. Casa Della Mozzarella is not just the Casa. They are a fully loaded market and deli, loaded with everything you need, whether for a quick lunch on the go, or to supply dinner or your fridge at home.
