This is a while ago but it still sticks in my mind and I wanted to warn others. In November 2022 I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. A couple weeks after the service, I discovered that the tires were about 10 pounds over-inflated (i.e. too much air pressure in the tires) AND one of my lug nuts was missing (!) Not great! Went here to get the AC on my vehicle repaired. It took two visits and some major diagnostics but ultimately issue was fixed (something with evaporator coil) after I already put 160,000+ miles on vehicle. They did it for a reasonable price, they are local to where we live and turn around time was acceptable. Glad to do business with them, will be back in the future. read more

I only bring my car here for repair. The owners and mechanics are top-notch. They will tell you the real deal when it comes to your car and they don't try to take advantage of consumers that are not automobile-savvy. I always get my vehicle back in a timely manner, in the same condition as I left it and if there may be ANY hold-up at all due to parts or what have you, I always receive a phone call informing me of the status of my repair. Every time we purchase a car, we bring it here and get it checked out to make sure we got a good deal and a good car. It's very difficult to find a good, trustworthy mechanic and this shop is only my second shop to ever visit since owning my first car. My first mechanic left the business and I am lucky to have found a second mechanic that I don;t have to question. They explain all the work they do, in detail, and the reasons regarding any suggestions they may have. Now that I have them taking car of my cars, I don't go anywhere else. read more

Recently brought my car here for a 30k mile service. I am so pleased w/ the results. I got a great set of tires they recommend (which were reasonably priced). So far I've driven in two snow storms and they feel great!! No slipping & sliding. I saved a TON of money on the service as well - compared to what the Honda dealer wanted to charge me. The staff ( I dealt with D.J.) was super accommodating when I scheduled my appt.. They also reviewed everything in detail on my invoice. The office is also comfortable if you need to wait, nice couch, flat screen tv, CLEAN bathroom, and WiFi service available! It's also SUPER close to the train station - you can easily walk if your dropping off your car for the day. These guys are definitely guys - guys - (meaning there's no scented candles in the office etc..) but they certainly don't make you feel silly as a woman going in here when talking to you - which is soooooooo refreshing! :) I will definitely be back! read more

Careless and lazy work. You'd think switching wheels on a car would be relatively straight forward. Well for Dobbs Ferry Automotive you'd be wrong. I was charged 150$ for my wheels to be balanced incorrectly and then instead of changing the wheels with the INCLUDED hub rings, they simply mounted them destroying old rings for the other set of wheels. The only work that was done correctly, was the work Dobbs Ferry Automotive didn't even do! Which is the alignment because they drove my car all the way to yonkers for that, and they didn't even mark the the proper "In" and "out" miles, thinking I wouldn't notice the car ever left their shop! Absolutely horrible shop that can't seem to manage the simplest of jobs and only focused on getting in as many cars as possible. If you thought you'd get decent customer service at a small shop like this you're dead wrong. Take your car to an actual dealership so you can actually hold them accountable, and fix your car the RIGHT WAY. read more

I got ripped off doing my inspection here a few weeks ago too. I should have checked the reviews as someone had the same experience. He told me he'd fail my inspection unless I replaced the windshield wipers! My car is not even 3 years old and in perfect shape. He also included the rear wiper, which is not even supposed to be included in the inspection. He was rude and told me to check with the DMV and I did and rear wipers are not included in an inspection! Charged me $20 per blade (he said the he didn't have the less expensive blades in my size) and then I checked the blades and he did use the less expensive but charged me for the "better quality" blades. Ripoff! The year prior I had it inspected and he said my trunk light was out and needed to be replaced or I'd fail inspection. I should have learned my lesson and not gone back to them. Seems like they are just looking to grab a few bucks each time you go to them. I'm a good customer and had been going to them for my oil changes, rotations, etc. Never going back. Will find an honest shop. read more

I'm just going to come out and say it, I got ripped off yesterday. I've been taking my car here for years and they usually do my annual inspection. I brought my car in for inspection and right off the bat, I was told that i needed new wiper blades. I've been I this situation before where I get cornered into buying new blades or else they won't pass the inspection. I asked how much extra and was told it could be $30 for a pair. I told them that I thought that was expensive but it's fine. When I went to pick up my car later that day, they charged me $55 for the wiper blades in addition to the $37 for the inspection! I told the lady that I was told it would be $30 not $55 and she told me that they installed AC Delco blades and they were a higher quality. I told her that I don't care what brand they gave me and it was a rip off. I paid the full bill though. I didn't fight it. I've been coming to them for years and this was the first time I was ever ripped off. Unfortunately, this is the last time I am coming here. They get 2 stars for my prior visits. read more

I rarely rate places, but I know it's hard to find a good mechanic, and this place is AWESOME. They are honest, fast, and reliable. I just moved up to the area and have already been to one place in Tarrytown---won't go back there. This is my new spot! I walked in for a new tire and the owner was working. He mentioned that he could quickly order a new tire and get me out of there in no time, and even told me that he could find me a tire that would cost much less than what my car had already, but would be just as safe. Only charged $10 for labor and the whole thing was done in an hour. It's clearly a family spot, too. Every time I popped in, there were kids in the office hanging out. That's my kind of vibe. read more

These guys are the best! I work full time and have two kids so when I have a problem with my car; It is so inconvenient to get repairs since I cannot be without a car. They make it so easy for me. They are right up the hill from the train station so I drop if off in the morning and it is ready for me after work. They are fair and reasonable and I do not feel like I am getting ripped off! read more
