Naturally, I called and asked for someone to come out to look at my chimney flashing. The owner, Scott, came out to look. Needless to say, I will no longer be recommending this company. Scott was RUDE and argumentative today. I mentioned that the flashing didn't look right, when I meant the tar or rubberized coating, or whatever was originally used by the original installers. I used the wrong vernacular, and he sternly corrected me. I wasn't saying anything negative about him or his company, but actually paid him several compliments on his other employees. Scott came down from my roof and then asked me about a permit when it was installed. I informed him that as far as I know it was pulled, as Country Homes Power told me that they did. Scott then decided to lecture me on how I would know. (I found the permit and receipt of permit with my city). It was an authoritative tone. I've spent enough time in the military to understand when I'm being "dressed down." Then I asked Scott about the repair, and he said he'd get back to me but they were busy. So I clarified by asking him if he was busy the rest of the year, or just now. He then said that his company would not be able to do anything for me this year. He NEVER told me WHY my flashing needs to be replaced. His crew had inspected everything just a few months ago this summer and said everything was just fine. I called Mr. Chimney to get his name and was informed that he was the owner. The girl on the phone got defensive and said "I'M SORRY THAT YOU FEEL THAT WAY" in a snotty tone. I was calm and cool as a cucumber on the phone with her, as you get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar. But that was the end of that conversation. It's awful to say, as I really used to like this company, but I asked them to disregard and I won't ever be utilizing them again. And if the young office girl is reading this, try learning some customer service skills please. You NEVER tell a paying customer "I'm sorry you feel that way." I would have respected you more if you would have just said "Piss Off" and hung up. Customer service can and will make or break a company. Mr. Chimney clearly has some issues to sort out, as the owner doesn't know how to properly communicate with people. My advice to the owner, stay away from customers if you are going to behave in your current state, and let your employees deal with the company, as the ones who came out here before were very professional. Perhaps sir, you could take some cues from them...... *******ADDITIONAL NOTE******* CUSTOMER BEWARE: If you leave a negative review or call to complain, the owner Scott may threaten you with filing a false complaint regarding any animals that you may have. My dog is a Certified Service Animal with her own ID card that the TSA recognizes. She's actually a Disabled Veterans Service Dog and makes Lassie look more like Cujo, as she's the sweetest thing. I informed Scott (the owner of Mr. Chimney) that she was a Service Dog and that she was very friendly. She sniffed him with her tail wagging and like he was a long lost buddy. Hey, she's in her own home, not at work, right? I then I shoo'd her off so Scott and I could speak about my stove chimney. After I called the office to voice a complaint, I get this voice mail (see attached) that Scott is wanting to talk to me over the phone "man to man." Well, you can read it for yourself. This guy must have a couple screws loose upstairs, or perhaps he had a previous bad experience with animals? Scott made this personal by threatening to file a fictitious dangerous animal complaint against me. My dog never threatened him in any way. And this didn't come up until AFTER I called the office and stated that I'd be leaving a negative review. As Scott was leaving my Ring Camera shows me extending my hand, us shaking hands, and him leaving peacefully, and in one piece. This guy is unhinged, and he's supposed to be the owner????

Part 2: The day…read moreafter posting the previous review, I received another call from that Anchorage Alaska number (Tim). He told me that he saw my post and had no idea that Luke had done this. He and Luke had quite the showdown in the office. He wanted to make good on HIS estimate and would be out in two days. Upon arriving at my house he informed me that Luke had been fired and that they were doing an in-house investigation on him to see if he had been doing this for awhile. The company also discovered that Luke is the brother of the owner of a local competing chimney sweep business and that Luke might've been trying to way over-bid jobs so that people like me would go with his brothers company. Tim completed my job at a cost that was way below his original estimate. I appreciate people like Tim who want to take the time to make things right when there's an obvious wrong. Tim said that Ron (owner) was in agreement of his "fix the problem" attitude and this reflects greatly on the integrity of this company! I will NOW continue to use the services of this company and I hope that Tim gets a big fat raise for this! Tim definitely has a servant's heart and got $20 for his pocket from me for his trouble. Richard was here today looking at our gas fireplace and checking our chimney. Very nice and thorough! He's coming back to give our gas fireplace a good cleaning for $159. These jobs were performed not just satisfactorily, but well beyond my expectations. I will engage him for other repairs as funds allow. I find Mr. Carroll to be a prompt and able communicator by text and phone, a good judge of whether a contemplated project could go forward, a good planner who generates conceptual drawings for load considerations, a highly detailed job estimator and calculator of volume, slope and grade, a standard good-practice contract writer, a facile and skilled workman over a broad scope of demand, a possessor/operator of required machinery and laser levelers, an engineer-artisan with a good eye for a finished appearance, a person responsible to correct inadvertent collateral damage, and a workman who is highly ordered and remarkably fastidious in cleanup. His invoices are detailed and consistent with the initial contract. I think that his pay/compensation rates for labor performed and materials utilized are fair. He is licensed and bonded. I know by now that Mr. Carroll is an honest, fair, responsible, kind, well-trained and thoughtful man with high moral standards. He represents American ideals at their finest and walks the talk. His additional helpers are also people warranting trust. He has worked very hard in my behalf, and I believe that he does the same for everybody else.
