Over the years I've been to various chiropractors and physical therapists for treatment of lower back pain (in my case specifically, it's the sacrum). I also once underwent a series of acupuncture treatments administered by a well-known practitioner in San Anselmo. (Didn't work for me.) Of all the doctors and healers I've been to for this recurring issue, Dr. Muli has been the most effective. Hands-down. First off, he brings a deep knowledge of physiology and years of therapeutic experience to the task. Being an expert in his field, he teaches classes at local colleges to prospective physical therapists. Many of his lectures have been taped and are available for viewing either via his website or directly through Youttube. (You can find them listed under his full name, Christoph Muelinghaus.) Though he is well-trained in chiropractic care, he is not limited to that technique. His range of knowledge and expertise extends far beyond a single type of treatment. For him, each person is a unique individual: He figures out what your problem is and what your particular body needs and then treats accordingly. I trust his judgment implicitly. Finally, I have to mention one other exceptional quality he brings to his work: his engaging personality and warm bedside manner. (Or, you could put it more simply and just say: "He's a very nice guy.") Caring and communicative, he clearly loves what he's doing and helping his patients. I came in with long-standing chronic issues related to hip alignment and my ankles. Dr. Muli was able to quickly identify muscle imbalances through his testing and focused on relaxing the necessary muscles before performing gentle, targeted adjustments. I love the clinic, Dr. is the best doctor to choose when you need to take care of a any body ache. I used to be a hurdlers runner and in 2009 got injured my back slowed down but kept going despite the discomfort, as the year's passed I learned how to live with the pain. Then in 2020 after working as a labor for so long the type of work make it hard on my back to the point that driving 10-15 minutes was a hard task to complete. At that point I was going in and out from PTs to Chiropractor, got any kind of equipment, magic creams and massagers with the hope to release the pain. Then I got a recommendation about Dr.M. He helped me to recover from that pain and by the 2nd session I have more results than any other thing that I had ever try to release the pain. A plus for me is that besides of being effective, when you are in session with Dr. M he not only taking care of activating the muscles and adjusting the bones and joints. He also educated you into what is happening about your injure or pain and recommends you what type of exercises you should be done in order to recover more effectively from the pain. To me being under the care os Dr.M is more like a working with a physical therapist where the therapy is great but also if you do the work you will get better results. Right now after about 15 session with him over the course of 4 years my back pain got from 9-10 to a 2 in my worst day (specially in winter), I can okay with my kids, take care of my house chores, drive for hours without feeling uncomfortable, and living a better lifestyle with day pain, anger and everything that comes with it. I had intense back pain a month postpartum, because of the combination of C-Section recovery and the strain from carrying the baby around made it difficult to do my normal activities. I began seeing Dr. Muehlinghaus for chiropractic care in 2010. He is extremely talented in helping me with my issues including bulging discs and chronic neck and lower back pain. He helps me to be able to be a high-performance athlete and is an amazing chiropractor. I took Human Anatomy & Physiology (BIOL23) with Dr. Christoph Muehlinghaus at Merritt College over Summer 2020 and it was truly the most beneficial class I have ever taken! Dr. Muehlinghaus created the content for this course and it was excellent. The texts include a lot of diagrams and supplemental videos he also made so that you can scan them and pull up with your phone. He presents the key information in a clear, concise, illustrated manner that helps it to really stick. The content is created in such a way that one can really go at their own pace or do it in the go which is wonderful for working professionals and distance learning! I have been in the medical field for several years and this class helped me dive deeper to further solidify my background. Sometime last year, I had a big knot on my neck (almost a size of the ping pong) - went to a massage therapist and it didnt' go away. Dr. Muhlinghaus definitely helped get rid of that! Before I went to him; I have had chiropractors work on me with the clicker for the spine, and when I saw him take that out, I was thinking: Oh no, not that again! Great treatments! After years of dealing with hamstring injury I can feel my muscles and actually use them. But that is not all - the tension in my neck is almost gone. Very late review since my daughter is 2.5 years old now, but I just thought about Dr. Christoph's miracle work that enabled me to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy and allowed me to have a natural and quick labor! I started seeing the Dr. when I was mid-pregnancy due to horrible low back pain with sciatica, and it didn't help that I was also a medical provider constantly on my feet. He worked on my back and pelvis twice a week up until 39 weeks which allowed me continue my line of work with minimal low back pain and complete relief of my sciatica. He also aligned my back and pelvis to facilitate an easier delivery, and he did just that! I had a very uneventful labor and delivery, delivering in just 10 minutes! Hola Center for Healing family! I just recently moved away to SoCal but I had been seeing Doc Muli for a few years and really wanted to write a review! I originally came in to see them for sciatica and the attentiveness and knowledge of all the staff was amazing. Doc Muli had a lot of experience treating sciatica and our visits were the only thing that truly helped manage the flare ups. I continued to see him for regular maintenance, as well as getting regular massage therapy with Africa. If you ever have a chance to make an appointment with her I highly recommend it! She knows where your pain is before you even tell her and her ability to work the muscles is mind blowing! They work so well together and the fact that it was all in the same facility made me feel safe about getting so much body work done because they communicate and care about their patients. Later I was in a car accident, and Doc Muli was the first person I called. He was so thorough in helping me I was able to recover quickly. Of course now that I have moved away the flare ups come back sporadically, and I wish I still lived in the bay so I could be treated at the center for healing! I have suffered with lower back pain for many years and approximately five years ago fell and injured my coccyx. I have endured the shots on numerous occasion but the pain just kept coming back. I was referred to Doc Muhlinghaus about four years ago. My only regret is that I didn't see him sooner. Since being under his care, I can truly say that I am almost pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Christoph Mühlinghaus. Here are some of the reasons: He is, without exaggeration coming from me, extremely passionate about his calling as healer and chiropractor. His background, education, professional knowledge and know-how are extraordinary. Basically, he is in a class all of his own because of it. When I came to him in April of 2010 by recommendation of my primary care physician for neck, pelvis, rib cage, hands & arms, and chronic pain from an injury in December 2007 I felt hopeless because I had already consulted numerous MD's, physical therapists and several other chiropractors. One of the things that made me trust him more is the fact that I could explain what's happening in my first language which is German because Dr. Mühlinghaus is from the German part of Switzerland. I came to Dr. Muehlinghaus after a bad hamstring sports injury. Two Blue Cross ortho docs (very highly respected ones) both gave me the bad news that the best I could expect was some minor pain relief after some years, and there was nothing to be done. A while back I went to my primary care doctor for my annual visit. I was having terrible pain in my left hip that was affecting everything I did but most importantly sleep! I asked my PCP to get me a referral for a Chiropractor and since I hadn't seen anyone in California for Chiropractic I didn't have anyone specific in mind the only thing I knew I wanted was the drop table. I got my referral for Dr. Christoph Muhlinghaus on a Tuesday or a Wednesday and by Saturday his office called me to make an appointment, which was good because I was totally putting it off! I went in for my first appointment and I was glad to see (and hear) the drop tables, Dr. Christoph was quick to come out and make sure I knew the drop table was the noise maker and not the patient he was treating. I knew that but appreciated the information anyway. My first appointment was interesting, he explained everything he was doing while he poked and prodded to see what was where and how "off" everything was. He teaches anatomy as well but is happy to dumb it down for those of us who don't understand all the big words. I felt at ease with him right away, he told me that my right hip was significantly higher than my left which was why my left hip hurt so much. Then he checked everything else including my knees, it seems I was quite broken! He adjusted my hips and lower back, then onto my side for the ribs (both sides), then onto my back for the neck and shoulders. Then the scary part, he went to the knees. You see for several years now when I would sit for a while and then get up my knees would forget what their job was! He started adjusting my knees, yikes I thought! But no, it didn't hurt and since that first day my knees haven't forgotten what they are supposed to do! In fact I was goofing with a friend at work and we started running down the hallway (I know such children!) and laughing when I suddenly stopped and said to my friend Holy Crap! I am running! She said I KNOW! I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to ruin it! You see Dr. Christoph first went to school for massage therapy, then took it further by becoming a Chiropractor so he understand the muscles and how they relate to the bones like no other Chiropractor I have known. He understands that just adjusting doesn't work if the muscles are in knots. What a concept! Dr. Christoph is very warm, funny and lots of fun. I am so happy that my doctor got my referral to see Dr. Christoph. A little about the office. His billing person Layla is terrific, on top of all of the insurance payments and issues and is very communicative if she thinks there might be a problem. He also has a body work person there to do some light massage to get you ready for the adjustment, his name is Nate, he is super sweet with occasionally pokey elbows HAHA but more than wonderful! I am not a huge fan of the bone-crunching school of chiropractic (prefer the subtler techniques) but I AM a huge fan of this doctor. I have always had great results, and always enjoy my visits. Chris is so knowledgeable and positive. He's a real human being with a great bedside manner and a nice sense of humor. I am writing this to say thanks to Dr. Muehlinghaus for being the most personable and effective medical practitioner I've encountered in a long time. Most importantly, he's really helped me with my headache pain. As long as I see him every 3-4 weeks, I don't get tension headaches. He understands various conditions and causes at an in-depth level, and has a realistic approach (rather than too holistic and tutti frutti like some). He takes extra time to do additional adjustments to test the impact. OMGeezee! This doctor is the best that I have encountered so far. I have never been really open to chiropractors' method of healing since im not really a touch feely kinda person but this doctor is on another level that has changed mind. I had been having back/hip pain for about a year and never really chose to do anything about it until it became unbearable. Doc Muli is gangster--After a trip to the ER, and very frustrating and persistent sciatic burning pain in my right leg, (due to an L5-S1 disc herniation), he had me off pain meds in 2 visits. I highly recommend trying AMIT (along with adjustments) it's been a Godsend and I cannot thank him enough for getting me back in the gym. Learning why certain muscle imbalances occur is important if you want to know how to correct movement patterns and stop reoccurring issues. Over 10 years ago I was suffering from severe lower back pain ( 9 of 10, 24/7 ) which had been going on for a few years. It looked like surgery was becoming an option which I really didn't want. As a last resort, I decided to try chiropractic and PT, that's when I found Christoph. After about 3-5 weeks my pain level had fallen to a 4 to 5 and after a few more weeks it leveled out between a 3 to 4 depending on the day. As I thought that the PT (physical therapy) was having the least effect, I decided to drop it and continue a maintenance schedule of every other week with Dr. Muehlinghaus. The biweekly sessions kept me feeling good until about 5 months ago when the pain flared back up to a 9+, out of the blue. It was so bad that I went to me primary doctor and was taking 2 15mg slow release Morphine tablets a day. After trying various techniques Dr. Muehlinghaus managed to conquer the problem after about a month and I was able to quit taking the pain medication and am back to my old pain level friend of 3 to 4. My advice to anyone suffering sever muscular/skeletal pain is simply this "IF YOU DON'T TRY Dr. Muehlinghaus BEFORE GOING UNDER THE KNIFE OR GOBBLING PAIN MEDS, YOU ARE BEING VERY FOOLISH! read more

This is a late review for Dr. Christoph. I have been his patient for over 2 years now. I was working with another chiropractor for neck and back pain. Every visit was 2-5 minutes and always the same routine. The treatment didn't seem personal to what I had. It seemed that the chiropractor was using this treatment on most of his patients regardless of age and size. I started to question. Around this time, my brother was going to Dr. Christoph and talked about how his treatment was way more than 5 minutes and the treatment was different every time he went! This surprised me. I decided to give it a try and I went to Dr. Christoph. From his philosophy about the body to the care of his patients, I switched immediately and since I have been seeing Dr. Christoph.
