Food was average at best and service was underwhelming. Not many choices in Fox Lake but I still won't be back.

Fun place.Lots of amazing seating by the water on the deck as well as inside with huge windows overlooking the water.Service very good and lots on the menu. i have been going to dockers for 6 years , you will never have a bad meal there , and even if you do its your own fault.Mario and Marcos the owners are very gracious to there customers. Went there for a going away lunch, so we had a party of 7. Food took 45 minutes to be served because of the broasted potatoes.. Really??? I ordered the fried shrimp. Tasted like the frozen kind and way too salty. Also the crunchiest fried shrimp I've ever eaten because they probably had been sitting on the heating tray for awhile.... Good salad bar like other people recommend, but I didn't come to get the salad bar..... Poor service. Poor food. Wouldn't go there again. Nice view of the lake however... read more

Several years ago I went here was so upset and disappointed in the service and food I swore I would never return. Il be darned , came back to this area on water and made the mistake of thinking it was vickies not dockers. Took my family here sunday eve for dinner. August 11 2013 approx. 5 pm. First experience was new docks with no way to tie up without beating up my boat , had to cross tie .. then waitress could barely speak English and avoided our table. We had to stop her and make her take our order. Not an easy task! We sat outside as it was a little cooler then inside only to be over taken (after we ordered of course ) by cigarette smoke! yes can you believe it they put ash trays on every table even next to bldg. and entrance( which is against the law to protect our health)!!!! The food was terrible, no taste. ( how do you get no taste outta of a marinara? ) we all tasted it as we couldn't believe it. The small piece of chicken was decent but greasy. Soup was ok and salad bar was small and reminded me of country coral which is ghetto dining at best. My choice was a rib 1/4 chicken combo. It was the worst ribs I ever had. I couldn't eat them and I was starving. I have never not finished my ribs anywhere from here to Germany. I Fed to my dog , no kidding he didn't eat them. Complete waste of money. Makes me really upset. I was furious what a waste of almost 90 dollars on 3 kids and two adults. ( no alcohol) Then since my kids didn't like their pasta they took it home.( wanted to salvage something for my money... Can you imagine? Now get this!!! While taking it directly from their foam carton I put in a bowl warmed up. Three bites into it I feel something sharp? a coiled piece of steel from a industrial steel wool pad!! I don't even use steel wool as it is a horrible way to clean. Only kitchens with outdated nasty grills have to use these. I have never left a negative review in my entire life. I am a former firefighter in this area, a pilot and own seven homes in three different counties. Lived in area all my life until last few years. I do not have a sensitive pallet , I can enjoy hotdogs if they are real. This is my PROMISE!!! I will NEVER forget this place risking my families health and well being while being over charged for horrible service and food. The manager or owner? was walking around with a smug look on his face , cut me off as I tried to enter the building without even saying excuse me or holding the door. Everyone there had that same look and were spewing out negative feelings as it was clearly demonstrated by management.I was completely embarrassed that I put my family thru this. Had I seen the metal at the table I would have gotten up and walked out and told them off! Called the board of health and turned them in!! Never again NEVER will I make the mistake of patronizing Dockers of fox lake Il and NO way would I ever try their North location in Antioch. Do what you want go and see for yourself. I spent most of my life saving people ... this is my honest warning! I am not sure which restaurants are any good on the lake as many have changed over the years. But avoid this one at all cost! Staff (claimed he was the manager!) was very rude on the phone. He refused to take a reservation for 2 on a Saturday evening, then hung up on me. I called back, complained about hang up - no apology then hung up on me again! I'll find somewhere else to eat rather than tolerate such rude treatment. read more

Delayed review from a couple of months ago. Sunday brunch, serious meh. Waitress could NOT be bothered. Won't be going back.

Ordered some wings last night (first time ordering), they right off the bat asked if we had called earlier and ordered wings that weren't picked up. We said no and they supposedly put in a new order of wings (they'd be ready in 10 minutes). Went to pick them up, got home and they were ice cold and soggy. We called to let them know that we had been given cold wings, the women on the phone was very rude accused us of being the ones that had called earlier and never picked up their order (even went as far as saying that our # was the same as the other caller...yet- IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME EVER ORDERING FROM THEM ...aka, they don't have caller ID and therefore lied about that b/c they assume that it's mathematically impossible for there to be two separate orders of wings (for two separate customers) in the same night. Obviously they don't get many take out orders, nor do they deserve to- with crappy service like that. In conclusion, I just wanted a simple order of hot wings, instead I got accusations, lies, and absolutely no attempt whatsoever of customer service; if an order of wings is this complicated I can't imagine how they would be able to handle an actual meal. There's a first time for everything, and in this case it also happens to be the last. NEVER GOING TO DOCKERS AGAIN, thanks for noth'n! read more

My husband ordered the club house sandwich (Normally a pretty big sandwich anywhere else) This sanwich was pathetically small. I don't know where you get bread as small as this was. I've been here a few times while visiting family in the area. This place stays in business because of its location with a deck and a view of Pistakee Lake. There are other establishments on the Chain with a view or deck just as good. The food is at best bland and at worst inedible; and the service is generally uninspired. When busy (summer weekends) it's a disaster area, but I suppose having a few beers on the deck during a lazy afternoon of boating wouldn't be all that bad. read more

Looking for a restaurant with great food and a lake view, try Dockers. The broasted chicken is excellent and you can't beat the price. On weekends they have a generous cut of Prime Rib on special, which is the best deal in Lake County. I've seen other reviews on yelp criticizing the staff, but we've had nothing but good experiences. read more

Cool location, food was decent, but our waitress was terrible. Took a long time to take our orders and even longer for food. People around us were seated after us, got their food before us, and left all while we were still waiting for our food. All the other waitresses and waiters seemed to be on their game except ours. Every other table received a basket of bread, except us which was never even offered to us. 1 hour after we put our order in the food came, which was only because we asked the bus boy. She gave us our bill before we even asked for it and about 1 minute later, she came back and asked if there were questions about the bill. We honestly hadn't even looked at it yet and just said no. Then again about 1 minute later came back to grab it and we finally told her we needed a few minutes to figure out the bill. She rolled her eyes and walked away agitated. Talk about being rushed. We ended up paying inside and talked to the owner about Delphinas (our waitress) poor service. He was nice enough to compensate for our bill by giving us a check and asked us to give his restaurant another chance. I will say we've been here a few times and have really enjoyed it. This has been the worst dining experience I've ever had. I haven't even gotten my bill yet and am still sitting here. First off, the kids meals are priced at $9 and higher. Seriously!? The point of kids meals is to be smaller and cheaper than adult meals. I ordered the fish and chips which includes salad bar. Once I got my salad bar and was preparing to eat it, I find a bug. Smushed. Not having just landed in it. All mashed up on my lettuce. As the salad bar is located right next to the door outside. The sprite was flatter than flat and it took 15 minutes to get my kids new drinks. Some young kid about 12 years old is running the food. My family's food arrived, everyone's except my sisters. It took the server 9 minutes (we timed it) to even check on us after the food came. She didn't even realize my sister hadn't gotten her food. Once we told her she went back and I assume asked and came back to tell us that it hadn't even been made. So my sister said forget it. The waitress then comes back to tell me that since there was a bug in my food that I could have a free drink. Great. Except for the fact that I don't drink, nor had we ordered drinks. Our server is so rude. This is over priced crappy diner food. Oh and also, we asked for separate checks BEFORE WE ORDERED because I'm a server, and I know that makes things a lot easier between 3 checks. We just got the bill, and she couldn't even get that right. Every bill was wrong and not had the right items on it. THANKS A LOT BRITNEY! Our server Sarah was one of the rudest servers i have ever had. She completely ruined the experience with her attitude and comments and i will never return or recommend this place. We've eaten here many times, usually get the skirt steak sandwich or burgers. I would say the food is OK. The salad bar is lacking in varity. Tonight I tried Dockers Pasta. It was bad. Pasta and chunks of chicken in a tasteless cream sauce. No seasoning at all. The chunks of chicken had a strange texture and no flavor. My husband and two kids (ages 8 and 9) went to Dockers today for lunch for the first time. We had two different grilled chicken salads that were large, fresh and hearty. Homemade Ranch is very good and my son really liked the raspberry vinaigrette. My daughter had the grilled chicken Parmesan sandwich and ate every bite. I had the broiled cod which was okay (it's impossible to make baked cod awesome). The salad bar was barely adequate, but the bottom line is that you go here to sit outside on the lake and enjoy the weather and the view. The service was very good and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Lots of different menu choices. Very decent margarita (and we are picky). We suggest you give Dockers a try! read more

Very disappointing and will NEVER be going back! We went there on a Friday night at 4:00. We sat outside. It was chilly out so no one else was out there. The waitress took our drink order. When she brought the waters, we placed our orders. We had a conversation with the waitress about the weather. She brought us salad plates. An hour later, we still had not received our meals! I go inside to ask about our orders and the owner (I'm guessing) asks me who I placed my order with. I point to the person I believe took our order. She denies it and says she never took our order! There were only 3 waitresses/waiters working. She kept denying she took our order. But we had water and salad plates! Clearly someone had to take our order! We did not serve ourselves! In order to know our meals had the salad bar, someone would of had to take our order! The owner says if the 3 wait staff did not take your order, clearly you did not order! I think the lady would not admit she did take our order and messed up because any tip she was getting was gone anyways. She said, I did not take your order, but i will now! I said forget it and walked out! Had the owner apologized and tried to make amends, we would consider going back, sadly, he did no such thing! But again, we did not grab our own drinks or or salad plates! SOMEONE had to bring them to us! read more

I love Dockers, i'm a realestate broker from wrigleyville in Chicago. I enjoy bringing clients here so they can appreciate some of what Fox Lake has to offer. Awesome boat docking situation, reasonable prices (food and liquor)! BTW, food and drinks are always amazing, the service is always great! The views are to die for for and the sunsets make me feel like i'm in Hawaii I. Unimpressed. Went on Venetian night. Seated upstairs. It was a busy event and delays can be expected, but it was very disorganized. Food didn't come for more than an hour. Finally got the prime rib. Very good but had run out of baked potatoes. The staff's children hung out upstairs as well. They were loud and disruptive at times. Really liked the lighted palm trees outside. And the view of the fireworks was phenomenal! Will give them one more chance on the less busy night. If that night doesn't go well, will never return. read more

I was not happy with my experience at this restaurant at all. I was here about a week ago with my parents. Firstly, the staff was not very polite. But I felt so crammed walking around this place there is hardly any room to walk. Additionally, being in such close quarters made me lose my desire to eat becuase people were coughing and sneezing all over the place. Our waiter did not seem to care about our table, he would take things and just drop them on the table and left. I ordered the Mexican burger, it specifically stated on the menu that it was a simple guacamole burger with jalapeños on the side. I ordered it with no jalapeños and of course I received my burger and it was pureed jalapeños all over the burger...I love hot & spicy guacamole but this was inedible. I tried to eat it but had the waiter take it back, of course he did it with attitude. I tried to eat my mom's burger and that was bland and distasteful. I was so annoyed with this sub par establishment that I left and my parents finished dinner. I'm sorry but mcdonalds had more taste and was at least a sanitary place to eat. My husband and I like this place because of the great view sitting on the patio. Their food is "ok." There are a lot better restaurants in the area. The staff can be rude except for one of the waiters named John. I have never spoken to the owner (he claimed he was the owner on the phone when I called). The reason I called is because I had accidentally left my expensive pair of sunglasses on the table after dinner. I called the restaurant to inquire and "the owner" who had a very strong hispanic accent said "settle down lady" when HE couldn't understand what I said and I had to repeat myself - how professional. Then he said that they checked and they do not have my sunglasses. When I asked what his name was because honestly I had a hard time believing he was the owner (owners of businesses that want repeat business do not treat customers this way) he said it doesn't matter what his name is. OK. Seriously, did the sunglasses just disappear into thin air? Sounds like one of the wait staff now has a nice pair of Rayban's on me. I won't be back. read more

My wife and I love a good fish fry and have probably tried 50 + places in northern IL / southern WI. in the last 20 years. So last night we decided to try Fox Lake and the food was very good! I had the fish fry and my wife had the Chicken Monte Carlo and both were delicious, and the salad bar was also very good. I would have given a 4 star rating but our waitress was awful! I'm sure we'll go back and give it another chance because the food was so good. read more

All stars are for location and service. Nothing beats the deck overlooking the lake. Service has always been quick and attentive. The food is good and the menu is pretty extensive. I have tried a burger and the all you can eat fish fry. Both were good. My one complaint might be that the menu probably hasn't changed much in the last couple decades. read more

Went for Sunday Brunch. Everything was Delish..... Except the omelet it was too runny. Try the hand carved roast beef, tasted like delicious prime rib, tender and juicy, very flavorful...but I'm sure it was top round. Quite a variety to chose from soup and chili, salads , sausage, bacon, blintzes,crepes, eggs, French toast, pancakes, desserts and more. $12.95 per person was well worth the price. Have been a satisfied customer for years. Tonight was horrible. Owner put us upstairs with two other couples. Took forever for the waitress to stop by and offer us a drink then she disappears. Comes back and we order our meals, she offers us bread and voila disappears again. We get chili and salad and are almost done when she brings us the bread finally, our drinks are empty. Our meals come and she leaves no refills and does not return. My Prime Rib is raw and I ordered it medium but we have to take it downstairs to the owner, still no drink refills. Prime Rib comes back very well done and she asks "are you happy now?" turns and leaves. I have gotten the to go containers myself, our coats are on and we are going downstairs when we run into her and she hands us the bill. I complained to the owner, really did not do any good. Sometimes the worst thing you can do in business is populate your staff with family, our waitress was family. The Worst EXPERIENCE I've had in the last ten years! Went for Easter brunch .. And it was a mess! They had no idea how to seat . Or have a functioning set up for the buffet.. The omelette guy was also the carver for the meats ..which in turn made the whole line be at a stand still .. The staff was so rude from the manager to the host to the waitress. They advertised a bunny to be there but I guess it was only for the first seating ?!? Ours was the second seating and the bunny was gone? They also tried to put us upstairs with two handicapped people when we asked for a table downstairs they threw a fit and starting yelling at me!
