    Caprese chicken

Excellent local restaurant in McHenry, they've got the throwback salad cart where they make your salad from scratch. It reminds me of this swanky 70's steakhouse my grandma used to take me to when I was a kid. They have a huge menu with some very unique dishes to choose from. They had cheesy potato soup to start with, which was fantastic, my buddy and I both had the Caprese chicken entrée with spinach, risotto, and sautéed vegetables. It was amazing season perfectly and very flavorful. I will definitely return to eat here again.

From the highway this unassuming building disguises the delicious food inside. Delicious steaks, wonderful service, salad cart, unique appetizers. What a pleasant surprise. Loved the Brie bites and beet crustini! The steaks were a great value, tender and well prepared. Service was excellent and our server went out of her way to make certain we were happy. The tiny desserts were a perfect ending. I would go back!

We have been going to UpRooted since it opened. Every time we've been there for dinner whether with my wife and me, with friends or the entire family for a special occasions the food & drinks have been excellent! The Salad Cart made to your specifications right at your table are fresh and delicious. This past Saturday evening, with Will as our server, again the service, entrees, appetizer & weekend "Adult Beverage Cart" were all wonderful!

I have been to uprooted previously and it's been good each time. I was excited to go on a Wednesday to have their Beef Wellington special. It was delicious! I was happy that I could order mine without mushrooms. I wish I remember who our server was but she was great! She described the dish perfectly and even her soup description was good.

We were in the area, and found Uprooted with gluten-free option. When we first walked in, there's a bar ahead. You have to go to the left side to the dining area. We were greeted by a friendly staff, who also reviewed the menu with us, and shared with us gluten-free options available. Food was prepared with quality ingredients and presented well. I particularly enjoyed the butternut squash soup which included some chunks of butter squash so there's contrasting texture experience. For gluten-free option, we had the cauliflower crust flatbread. The crust was well prepared that it could hold up with the toppings. We would come back again when we are in the area next time.

Yummy sandwich with homemade coleslaw and fries. On the 4th of July in the bar area. Madison was an amazing server!

I LOVE this hidden gem in McHenry county. It's easy to miss the sign. It blends in. The main dining area is comfy and cozy. It's like eating in a family dining room. It is quiet and comfortable. The service is ALWAYS AMAZING! The food is delicious and farm fresh. There is something for EVERYONE! They have a rolling salad bar! Your server asks what you'd like. It's awesome. You get exactly what you want without all the germs of a regular salad bar. The pictures below were on the July 4th. They have amazing entrees as well that come out as works of art. I'll post more pics next time I go back. Did I mention how friendly and attentive the servers are. They are knowledgeable about the menu. Plus they take allergies seriously! I always feel welcomed and respected. I just love how nice the servers are! Prices are reasonable! Including drink prices I highly recommend Uprooted. I love it for celebrating special occasions. And now that I'm moving closer, I'll go "just Because "

Every time I felt excited to see a game and start playing, I would look over my shoulder to see another classic. I took photos of the ones that brought back strong memories of playing with my cousin at the bowling alley or the 7-Eleven, at the camp grounds and at the hotels, and even at the casinos when our parents were hitting the slots. $20 unlimited gaming is a steal for what you get here. I have no complaints. There are bathrooms in the back as well as a coat rack. There is plenty of space to feel comfortable taking your time. While there is no food, there are drinks available and they allow in and out privileges with your wristband. My wish would be that they find 720, the skateboarding game... Paperboy, and Crazy Taxi, and add them to the lineup. Also a few more shooters from the 90s, as those were quarter guzzlers that we could never finish with real money. I've been here twice and will be back again soon!

Sensory overload and I'm loving it!!!! Sights, sounds, feels, smells........it's got it all!…read more Bowlero is a great time for all. This was my first time at a Bowlero. Though there are a few options out there for multi-experience venue's, I was pretty impressed with my first visit to Bowlero. Upon entering, we quickly got set up with shoes and a lane for the evening's bowling festivities. We were a group of 6 for a work event. Some call it "team building". I call it getting out and having some drinks, food and fun. I guess their both correct, but my sounds more awesomer. (--- It's a word!) As we waited for the rest of our group to arrive, we walked over to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks. Easy enough. Once we were all there, we saddled up with some sweet clown shoes, grabbed our balls tightly and let it fly! We played 2 games in total. With 6 people, that took roughly 90 minutes or so. There is a very handy touch screen POS system at each lane. We were able to order food and drinks throughout our games. There was one downside to the POS for ordering. Unless we were doing it incorrectly, we needed to order and invoice each individual order. By the end of the night, we had about 5 individual receipts to tally up for expenses. I'm not certain if there is a way to keep a card or tab open, but we did not readily figure out how. We did have chicken nachos and wings (ordered traditional, got boneless). Both were as good as expected. Would I go back? Totally. Whether you're going as a couple or larger group, Bowlero has a lot to offer. They did have a variety of video games as well, however we didn't venture over there. Friends, work or family, you're guaranteed to have a good time at Bowlero. And if you don't, well, I have a feeling that it's you and not Bowlero.

However, when I got here at 6:15 the person told me I would need to wait until 8 o'clock for the unlimited bowling. On top of it there were about 30 lanes open and they told us we would have to wait 45 minutes for a lane. The person that told us all this was Madison and she was not helpful or considerate in anyway. Then we started bowling and not one single server had come to our table to ask us how is it going or if we needed anything. Also, on a Friday night there shouldn't be one bartender . I went to get a refill on a Sprite and it took 10 minutes. I just wanted to walk behind the bar and make it myself. I do not recommend this place for bowling as it's VERY expensive and no one wants to help you out and makes you wait for everything .

I was here on Good Friday since I had the day off. I made my gaming partner go early because those times were discounted and boy, am I glad I did! By the time our 90 minutes were up, the place was getting PACKED. It made my heart happy to see so many families doing something active and together! Like I stated before, I have been coming since it opened, and I appreciated in this visit that the instruction screens were updated, some of the rooms that we not working on my previous version were up and running again, etc. I also appreciate an upgrade to their reward system! Before, they used to hand you items (a water bottle, a basketball, etc.), but now you earn coins and can "spend" them on the items of your choice. I prefer that so I can pick items that I will actually use! (The aforementioned water bottle and basketball were donated to my local charity shop.) I chose a personal bracelet that Activate uses to track your time and points while you are actively participating in the games. The facilities have bathrooms, access to clean drinking water, free lockers to protect your belongings, etc. This time, too, I wore my fitness tracker for kicks and giggles and I burned almost 500 calories in 90 minutes of fun. For Mondays and holidays, it's best to check back because the prices do change. I highly recommend booking on the website instead of blindly going there. The slots fill up fast. The games are short so you don't have to wait long to go into that room. The room types are arena, climb, grid, hoops, mega laser, hide, control, mega grid, strike, portals, and press. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There's no issue with finding parking.

Now, I saw that someone mentioned that the arcade accepted 1-4 tokens, I did not find (on 4/25/2025 any that accepted only 1 token. Not saying that they were not there... I just did not find them. I did find a few that accepted 2 tokens or 3 tokens though. They do have some sort of bowling game that required 8 tokens in the back corner.
