This place is very hit or miss with our last visit being the worst of them all. Not sure if management or kitchen has changed, but there is definitely something different. When we first arrived, I ordered a few rounds of piña colada drinks. They were delicious. However, when my husband went up to order another round, the bartender said that there wasn't any alcohol on the current batch, so she added a floater on top. I was never told that. So, did I pay for multiple rounds of non alcoholic drinks? Feels like something I should've been told. As far as food, the crab legs, tacos, and shrimp were awesome. However, the Mac and cheese is a definite no. It tasted sour like the cheese went bad or curdled. The sandwiches are okay, but hit or miss. One of ours had flavor, the other tasted like bread. Bartender at the inside bar was drunk and on some kind of substance had to tell him my order four times (while the bar was empty) and then he yelled at me and my friends when he asked what we ordered. I had to talk him down and still paid and tipped 20%. It was a scary experience. read more

We got into lake of the Ozark late Friday night and were looking for something to eat. I got the special, which was steak medallions and lobster with a side of asparagus with hollandaise and mashed potatoes. My husband got the grouper sandwich. His was delicious. Mine was not. The medallions were chewy and they forgot all the sides. The ordering system was confusing. You had to walk up and order in one spot and get drinks in the another spot. Then they called your name over a speaker to come get your food. The live musician was singing, so you couldn't hear names being called out. It was just weird. But it did seem like it could be a fun place to have some drinks and chill. The bartender was nice. The vibe seemed relaxed. It was right by the water. A very good stop on the lake. Right off of 4MM and a good amount of boat parking. Dock Knockers offers a variety of seafood and it's all really good. I've tried several things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The crab cake sandwich is my favorite! The salmon sandwich I got this last trip was good but needed a little bit more sauce to make it perfect. They also have a few frozen drinks that are the average price on the lake. They are an order at the counter restaurant so you need to go to the bar for drinks and the counter inside for food. They call your name over the intercom when it's ready! Overall it's a restaurant I frequent in the summer. The only bad thing is that sometimes there is a slight odor outside the restaurant, from the trash I'm sure. read more

For an off-season hangout that's family friendly, this place was great. Kids got to feed fish, drinks were strong and the staff was behind the scenes and were there when you needed them. Yes the slips are a little shifty and use some maintenance but overall I would go back again. Based on menu description, I ordered "3 shrimp tacos and limes". What came out was 3 cold, unseasoned shrimp in a tortilla with pepper jack sliced cheese and "slaw" which was onion and soggy tomato very, very watery. So watery to the point you couldn't even pick up the tortillas without them slipping. Others in my group ordered pork potato boats which came out cold, and another ordered a side of corn casserole. Since the kitchen ran out, they went ahead and gave her no side and after we went to get a substitute, we got potato salad that was separated and extremely oily. Went for lunch on Monday after Labor Day as it was the only place to eat on the Lake that was open. I ordered a brisket melt and my sister ordered pulled pork. With a third fish item ordered this was a $50 lunch...not including drinks. We were called for food pickup and my sister and I had the same meat...not pulled pork and not brisket but cubes of fat! My sandwich also had no onions or peppers as the menu indicated. We each picked out 2 or 3 cubes of partial meat but it was so bad I wouldn't feed it to my dogs. Not sure what meat it was even supposed to be. It was literally cubes of fat! Took the platters back in and indicated this was the worst restaurant meal I had ever had. She said she was sorry. The person who ordered fish said it was good, as were the Bloody Mary's...but I won't go back to try. read more

Terrible portion sizes for the price. $15 for a chicken sandwich that was a tiny piece of chicken, and they don't even have the spicy ranch. Girl behind counter said they haven't had it since she has worked there. So they just gave it to me dry. $2 to upgrade side to a small handful of soggy fries. $40 for crab legs that didn't come with any side at all. Watered down, flat sodas. Sad. First time going, a couple of years ago, was great. We were excited to go back. Over $100 and a terrible experience later, this was our second and last time ever going here. read more

Decided to come here after reading reviews about the crab legs. So glad we decided to check it out! It was a fun, causal atmosphere with friendly (and funny) staff. There were various games around the outside patio that were fun to mess with while waiting for our food (cornhole, some hook game with string).The guys working behind the food service were exceptional. They answered all of our questions and when I was disappointed the crab legs didn't come with fries, they threw some in there for me. The seafood was amazing. It did not disappoint. To top off our evening, I left my to go box on the table on accident and it got thrown away. when the staff found out, they sent me home with a to go box with more food in it then the original! Docknockers? More like DockShithole. was really looking forward to this place with my girlfriend but left extremely disappointed - The reviews were very deceiving. The first thing you see when you walk in is a sign that says "we're too cheap to pay for wait staff - come to the window to order food." It took over an hour and a half to get our food, it came wrong, the cooks were not friendly at all. The food was average at best, I felt sick after and laid down for a couple hours. The bartenders ignored you, the drinks were also average, they were even out of 2 of their beers they had on their menu. The inside felt like you're in a dark shack, the tables are falling apart and I actually had to ask one of the staff members where the exit was to get out. read more

I would recommend this establishment to anyone that enjoys a good time and even better dinner. As we browsed the menu the bartender bryan recommended us to try the crab legs. They were fantastic, tasted fresh and well seasoned! He also recommended to try some tequila that we weren't familiar but the crab legs were so tasty we knew we were in good hands. Despite reading a previous negative review regarding ordering food and beverages, we did not find this system cumbersome or inconvenient. On the contrary, it was very efficient. The menu offered a wide range of selections. Side dishes included a generous serving of tasty French fries, Cole slaw and even offered a healthy food option, beautiful fresh broccoli. The drink menu was extensive offering intriguing mixed drinks at $7 & $9.00 as well as assorted beer labels and soda. We were a party of three, each ordering something different. Ok so we were pretty stoked to stop here. We were looking forward to crab legs and shrimp. We ordered 4 buckets of Crab legs, bucket of fried shrimp, chicken sandwich, crab stuffed jalapeños, crab cakes and salad. Well $30 for only 2 claws is nuts. I could see 3. We see the jalapeños and it was only 2 . $6 they were to be stuffed . It looked like a jalapeño cut in hell, chicken sandwich the chicken breast was so thin and the size of a player card and the bun was almost twice the size of chicken. It was like eating a read sandwich. So If I was you, I only prefer the fried shrimp ,salad and crab legs even tho it's $30. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. DO NOT COME HERE! We didn't get our food for three hours and when we did it was all freezing. Two orders from our group were actually created again after they had already gotten their food and the girls behind the counter had no explanation for it (these were also freezing). It was clear that all of the food was left on the counter because when one person went up to ask about their order, the girls turned around and grabbed the food on the counter and handed it to them. When we tried to talk to "management" and suggest that they warn people about the wait, they didn't want to here it. Eventually other groups started wanting a discount because they were having the same issues that we were having but the staff weren't offering anything. I can be understanding since they were understaffed and couldn't keep up with the orders but 3 hours for waiting on food when the restaurant wasn't even crowded is just unacceptable. read more

Come by boat, come in your swim suit, bring your family, bring your friends, bring your family. Been going to this joint for years at the Lake!!! Great dive bar with excellent seafood. We love the clam strips and crab legs!!! Always served fresh, always hot and sweaty in the summer time, always a good time!!! Kid friendly if you don't mind your kids seeing adults let loose. Expect the tables to be a bit sticky and the drinks to be served in plastic cups, but it's all worth it when that tin bucket of crab legs or clam strips is picked up in the steamy hot kitchen area!!! read more

Great "dive bar"! Had the crab bucket and it was fantastic. A lot of meat for a snow crab. Nice atmosphere inside and friendly dock helpers. Also had a "Miami vice" which is a frozen pina colada and frozen strawberry daiquiri mixed. Awesome for a hot day if you wanna cool off! Decor and vibe is a plus, very friendly and cool bar. However if you bring kids here, just know it has a few adult signs taking into consideration it is in a bar. But I Would definitely recommend to anyone and would come here again! read more
