It has a spacious beautiful interiors. Gets crowded doe happy hours. Staff were fairly polite. Happy hour applies at the bar or tables along the side of the bar. I had the oysters of the day $1.50 each. I've had better oysters. I fuel I must pop in for a proper meal and see. Overall Sauv was cold and fruity.

02/06/26: One of my favorite sea food spot in the city. Had to try their restaurant week menu. As always was not disappointed. This menu was of a creole persuasion. Shrimp appetizer flavorful with a little kick. The sauce and bread from the basket yuuum. Main course blackened swordfish with shrimp etouffe also well done. Fish tender on the inside just needed a bit more flavor which I told the server when he asked. Dessert: Bread pudding with caramelized sauce and ice cream definitely a hit especially as not a big fan of bread pudding. All in all definitely add to your list not only for restaurant week but just in general. #eliteyelper #mybellymademedoitnyc

Docks is a standard Midtown hang. Great restaurant with different many options even for the picky eaters. The bake clam casino was such a treat and a defiant most try. The steak and potatoes was delicious with the right amount of seasoning and cooked to the perfect temperature. From what we heard at the bar they have a great happy hour which many dinners were partaking in. Docks seems to be a midtown staple. Food and staff were top notch.

Great happy hour, but it gets so crowded by the bar. If you manage to get a seat, be prepared to have people yelling in your ear or reaching over you constantly. The bartenders are great and make sure you're taken care of even though they're hustling during prime hours. I like that they have both food and drinks on their happy hour menu.

This place was so busy during after work hours before Covid . Recently We were there on a Sunday, during happy hours! they had beer and wine for happy hour. The wines for $9. and the beer is $6. For The happy hour foods they have the beef slider, oyster, and clams on half shells. Rockin shrimp and calamari. Everything was good . The bartender also very nice. The place is spacious, and the sitting area is comfortable.

Docks is a classic in midtown and it's been around for a long time. I don't get why this place has such bad reviews but as a native New Yorker, this is a trusted and consistent place. Stopped by for dinner on a Friday night. The host was a bit standoffish and made us awkwardly stand there despite having reservations. A simple hello would have been nice.. but our waiter Kevin was super accommodating and took great care of us. We ordered 2 items from their specials -seafood linguine and the pan roasted dover sole. We also ordered the chicken and sides of fries and bok choy. +linguine: excellent and maybe my favorite. We requested a white sauce and it came with breadcrumbs on a crema sauce. +dover sole: filleted table side and roasted to perfection. +fries: needs no explanation. Parmesan truffle fries? Mind blown. Just order it. +bok choy: perfected sautéed with mushrooms. -chicken: maybe the least memorable because everything else stole the spotlight but still tasty!

Docks has been around for a long time, nearly 40 years and the decor has not changed. I love that. The art deco look and large dining room is welcoming and comforting. The large Oyster bar is always full and festive. If you want oysters and clams, you going to want to come for their happy hour at the bar...otherwise you are going to pay a hefty price at the table...The staff here is really great. Our current server, Mary, was WONDERFUL. Friendly, knowledgable...and just made our evening that much better. But, you may be wondering why only 3 stars...I've been to this restaurant many times over the years and one thing that HAS changed is the menu...there used to be more choices of FISH...and more ways it was prepared. The smaller menu, while more practical, was a bit disappointing. But, the fish and seafood they use is still top quality and fresh. I have to say...the meal itself was just okay. It began with a breadbasket of COLD bread. Like from the fridge cold. Not the best start. We began with the Grilled Spanish Octopus which was served with some nicely dressed watercress and a romesco sauce. As you can see from the picture, there was so much watercress on top, you wouldn't know there was a nice octopus dish underneath...as in the second picture. I expect better plating at this level. We also order a sashimi platter...super fresh fish...but served with bit of salad...Docks is NOT a sushi place and their lack of skill at presenting sashimi and properly cutting the fish shows, Way too thick...but...all of the fish was fresh and delicious. We also had the seared tuna. PERFECTLY cooked rare as I requested, but with ZERO seasoning. The accompanying vegetable side, was the best thing we ate, Fennel puree roasted cauliflower, carrots, kale, presented beautifully and nicely seasoned. Overall we had a nice time and the meal was enjoyable but forgettable. I regret to say it just wasn't how we remembered.

We stop to Docks annually after holiday sight seeing. It was a Christmas miracle finding three consecutive bar seats. The happy hour draws a crowd and we ordered several items, oysters of course, and a Lion King roll. The special touch of torching the outside salmon brings a light smoky flavor to the roll. We struggled getting the tab, which is stressful when you have to catch a train at Penn. I would recommend asking to settle the check well before your planned departure.

Docks is an oyster bar and seafood grill, offering an all-day menu, HH, cocktails, and desserts. We came here as a large group, making reservations in advance. We ordered some shareables: +Shrimp Scampi - prepared with tomatoes, scallions, and capers; served with grilled bread +Smoked Oysters Rockefeller - topped with spinach, Parm, and bread crumbs; this tasted a little 'fishy,' and the oysters themselves were a bit small +Fried Calamari - Rhode Island style +and, Crispy Brussels Sprout Salad - with apple slices, candied peacans, and fig balsamic For our meals, we had: +a Maine Lobster Roll - served with remoulade in a buttered bun +Organic Faroe Island Salmon - served with roasted root veggies, potato leek puree, and basil oil +Pan Seared Diver Scallops - served with roasted root veggies, potato leek puree, and basil oil +Seafood Risotto - with shrimp, crab, honeynut squash, mascarpone, and sage +Maine Lobster Ravioli - with lemon, tarragon, and Parm crema +and, Grilled 14 oz Prime NY Strip Steak - with Parm herb steak fries Overall, the food was fine; I think there could have been more seasoning and more flavor. Service was good, but could have been more attentive in terms of getting refills, making sure our drink and meal orders were correct, etc.; there wasn't much of pressure from the waitstaff when we were chit-chatting and such. Easy to get to by public transportation. +good for large parties

I have been here several times! It's a good vibes from when you walk in. The white tablecloths and napkins and tables setting and huge sunflowers bouquets, that I thought were real, but are not. They real should use fresh in my opinion. But the flowers add the splash of color. I usually sit at the bar because they have an awesome happy hour. But last night family treated me to a belated birthday dinner and it is restaurant week. We sat at a table for dinner and were still able to still get happy hour prices. We were immediately brought bread and water. Our waitress, Mary, took our drink orders and delivered in minutes. I had the seafood gumbo. You could see some shrimp and veggies. It was delicious, I used the bread to wipe the bowl. I then had the blackened cod, perfectly cooked with a perfect amount of spice. And the strawberry shortcake, made with a homemade biscuit was nice, not too sweet and not too much and enough for sharing. Also tasted the fish and chips. It was good. They seasoned the batter, not everyone does. The fried shrimp appetizer is always a favorite. The bok choy with mushroom also had a great Asian flavor. Definitely returning! Shout out to Mary for great table service!

It has a great happy hour and the oysters and clams were very fresh! The sushi roll was very good as well. The bartender was very friendly and helpful with choosing items. The calamari dish for happy hour had too much sauce over it, but the calamari itself was well prepared.

Good happy hour! $1.50 oysters and $9 wines. It's a little hard to find bar seating sometimes but my friends and I had a little standing table in the back. We asked for a bread basket that had amazing bread too!

The energy is right there, hovering, but it never actually lands. It's giving "almost iconic" but not quite--like a party that never fully starts. And that's what gets me. Because this bar could EASILY be that spot. The kind people plan their week around. Where are the themed nights? Where's the drama? The chaos? Give me a reason to come back on a random Wednesday. Do a city-event tie-in, a holiday takeover, literally anything that makes it feel alive instead of just... existing. Because right now it feels like a missed opportunity wearing a cute outfit. BUT--let's talk about the one thing they absolutely did not fumble: the view. The VIEW??? Insane. Genuinely stunning. The kind of view that makes you pause mid-sentence and remember you're in New York and not just spiraling in your own life choices. It's carrying the entire experience on its back, respectfully. So yeah. I'd come back... but mostly for the view and the potential. If they ever decide to actually do something with this space? It could be dangerous (in a good way). Until then, it's vibes... just not fully realized ones.

The view is gorgeous and sweeping. The service is attentive and professional. The drinks are sophisticated. I ended up here because I saw a video about their gin and tonic. Sounds simple, but it's one of my favorite drinks, and I'm always looking for someone who can do it well. I ordered their "dear G&T" and it was a fruity, complex riff on my old favorite. I also got the foreign forage, "a bourbon smash with a mint zing." It was also a delicious take on a classic. They have several types of cocktails, all broken down by spirit and flavor profile. They also offer a lot of spirits made in New York State. They have cocktails with earthy notes, fruity notes, fancy martinis, and a section boasting limited edition and special spirits, if you're "feeling fancy" and wanna cough up 35 bucks instead of 20 or 25! They have a bar snacks menu (sliders, nuts, and the like). I had their thick cut fries and they were light, seasoned, and tasty. I couldn't stop eating them. Midtown or not, I highly recommend this spot, which also has a couple other locations, including Gramercy.
