Esthetically it's a very pleasant looking restaurant, spacious with plenty of options where to be seated. The service is very good, and pretty quick, however our reservation was pre after work crowd. As for the food, appetizers of oysters and calamari were good, as were the sorbet and parfait desserts, the main course of hanger steak was not. The dish lacked seasoning and the meat was chewy for both my friend and I. I mentioned that to both the servers and the manager. Also $11.50 for a 16 oz plastic bottle of flat water is a bit ridiculous.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious dishes, and attentive staff! I had been to Oceana over 10 years ago and went for a second time recently for a work event. It met everyone's expectations- possibly even exceeded them. The wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious (the crab cakes, halibut, and Rocky Road Budino were all amazing). Even my cocktail, the Oceana, was refreshing and tasty. Even the decor was lovely - reminding me of modern art deco. This restaurant is 5 stars all the way.

Excellent service- hostess took out jackets right away. Kind and expedient waiter. Delicious wine. Food was great! I felt the pure with the scallops was a little bland, and didn't really like the marshmallow on the squash- otherwise everything was delectable. Quaint, warm yet modern and elegant interior. Def recommend and look forward to coming back!

Located in the heart of MidTown Manhattan, this seafood place is a nice place to go before a show in the city, happy hour, pre dinner drinks or date night. An elegant setting from the moment you walk in. The blue hue pairs with the seafood theme. Solid wine list selection and basic cocktail menu. Great place to come if you love a raw bar. I appreciate a condensed menu with not a ton of options to overwhelm a patron. Food was served hot and quickly after ordering. Great flavor and seasoning. Generous wine pours! A few cons this time. We didn't see our waiter except to order, and then to pay the bill. The sommelier was gracious to get me another glass of wine and the assistant wait staff was more attentive than our waiter. A second con, I ordered the branzino, and while cooked to my liking I was shocked to see it wasn't deboned. First time I had a full fish that wasn't deboned. Very dangerous to serve without the patron knowing that's how it will come. Overall it was a nice dinner before our show. Probably would skip a full dinner and come for happy hour and drinks.

Popped into Oceana after the Gazillion Bubble Show on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised! We came at an off-hour, so the bar was quiet at first (a rare treat in Midtown), but it started to fill up about 90 minutes later. Service was excellent -- attentive without being overbearing. They even brought a cushion for my son to sit on at the bar, which was such a thoughtful touch. We ordered the fried calamari and two dozen oysters, plus they brought out some complimentary focaccia that was warm, soft, and absolutely delicious. The oysters were fresh and briny -- a few had tiny shell chips, but the flavor made up for it. At $4.50 each, they're on the pricier side, but we had Billion Oyster vouchers, so no complaints there. All in all, a lovely post-show stop with great seafood, genuinely kind service, and a relaxed vibe. Would happily return for another round of oysters and the focaccia!

I think this place is fine for a Midtown work lunch. The menu spans all sorts of seafood and does make some creative takes on well known dishes. The dining room is expansive and has plenty of room for large parties. I had the swordfish, which was served on top of a cioppino inspired sauce. I thought it was OK, tasty but lacking a little bit of seasoning. Service was good and prices are what you would expect. I wouldn't say this is a destination restaurant but if you're craving high end seafood in between reviewing spreadsheets, this might scratch the itch.

I think from all the Restaurant Week spots that I went to this year, this might be my favorite one or top 2 spot. This place is definitely a hidden gem, an upscale seafood restaurant. The seafood is lit and the interior was beautifully decorated with the stained glass. And it's so rare to find both in one spot. We ordered: Complimentary Bread Appetizers: OYSTERS ROCKEFELLER (PERNOD, SPINACH, PARMESAN, PANKO) -- I usually don't like stuffed oysters, but I really liked this one SWORDFISH CEVICHE (ORANGE, RED ONION, CILANTRO, JALEPENO) -- I never had swordfish ceviche before. And it's different from other ceviches. Entree: MARKET FISH (CONFIT POTATO, SUMMER SQUASH) -- The day that we went it was Spanish mackerel. And idk how they cooked or seasoned it, but that was the BEST Spanish mackerel dish that I ever had. I still think about the dish. SHRIMP SPAGHETTI (ZUCCHINI, SHRIMP BUTTER, BREAD CRUMBS) Dessert: MEYER LEMON PARFAIT (OLIVE OIL CAKE, MEYER LEMON CURD, TARRAGON ESPUMA, OLIVE OIL GELATO, CITRUS CRUMBLE) MIXED FRUIT SORBET (SERVED WITH VANILLA SHORTBREAD) I'm so glad that I went. When I go back, I think I can pass on the desserts and I can't wait to try their other seafood dishes. #Resturantweek #nyceats #seatoodrestaurantnyc #foodstagram

Tourist from CA and we were freezing outside. We came in and were welcomed instantly even though we were so bundled up you could barely see our faces. We found a spot at the bar and greeted right away. We ordered a beer and the bartender (Lisa) was kind enough to order me a cappuccino. I felt bad as I recognize we are taking a spot at the bar, but that's just it, everyone here was so accommodating and welcoming despite being underdressed (jeans, multiple layers, jackets and beanies). Even when I asked to use the restroom an employee me showed me the way. We will definitely be back to enjoy a meal, and highly recommend this spot even if it's for a quick drink at the bar.

Ambiance: it's a premium seafood restaurant located in midtown on the ground level of Rockefeller center, very spacious dining space inside, good for large group hangout Service: very friendly, attentively refilled the water and cleaned the table, the servers provided useful suggestion and were patient with requests Food & Drink: their menu has a big emphasis over seafood from starters to main course, and there are some options for pasta and red meats too Crispy Calamari - *** served with tartar sauce, average Mixed Greens - *** shaved vegetables, lemon dressing, light taste Wedge Salad - *** candied bacon, pickled red onion, cherry tomato, blue cheese dressing, average Lump Crab Cake - **** celery root remoulade, mustard, frisée, rich in flavors, recommend Baby Romaine Caesar Salad - *** house-cured anchovies Whole Grilled Branzino - ***** perfectly cooked fresh fish, crispy skin and soft meat, served with green garlic sauce and xo oil, highly recommend Broccolini - *** aged gouda, calabrian chili, light taste Cherry Chocolate Semifreddo - **** gluten-free brownie, cherry sauce, morello cherries, beautiful presentation and delightful taste, recommend Oceana Cookie Plate - ** assortment of cookies and confections, random selection and some tasted old and dry Oceana Cheese Plate - *** four cheeses of kunik, nettle meadow farm, cow/goat; alpha tolman, jasper hill farm, raw cow; reading, spring brook farm, cow; point reyes bay blue, point reyes farmstead, pasteurized cow, served with pecan and dipping sauces, average taste HEMINGWAY DAQUIRI - ** El Dorado Rum, Lime, Luxardo, Grapefruit, hard to drink Price: moderate portions and pricey for certain items, expect $100+ per person

Wanted to have a lighter dinner instead of the many steakhouses in the area. The restaurant its really large and very nicely done. The service was top notch and they really made us feel special. I try the Oceana drink and it was really tasty. Not super strong or weak. We started our meal with the burrata salad with prosciutto and figs, the salad was delicious and a good portion to share. I went with the chicken and my husband had the Branzino. Both dishes were very well done and we really enjoyed them. This was a great meal.

The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
