I typically go to Avra 48th for the seafood but decided to try this place for a change of pace. I've been here a number of times over the years and this place has really improved. They offer a prix fix lunch for $45 which had a good variety of items (I think only one option, the steak, had a $10 supplement which I found to be very reasonable). The ingredients were fresh and prepared well. Our server Carissa provided impeccable service and really elevated the dining experience. The staff here is well trained and attentive. I actually enjoyed my experience here, and liked it more than Palladino and Capital Grille in Grand Central. I found the place to be clean and spacious, and was a good place to go for a meal. Went her last month after going to Allure spa to continue on with my check off my bookmark series lol. Anytime I dine solo I sit at the bar for faster better service! This place gives intimate and cozy/fine dining for the location which gives hustle and bustle so it's a nice contrast! Now on to the food I wanted to an early girl dinner didn't want to over do it! The special feta salad was the star of the show for me it was so delicious and fresh with that feta... the crab cake was so so I would preferred lump crab you can tell they used claw(not bad but lump is better imo) the truffle fries were perfect and I loved the oyster plate set up.... The interior is pretty and the service is really nice. My waiter was kind with his recommendations. The lunch special is a good deal, with the seafood here being very good. I regularly visit this restaurant when I am in midtown and it is always a great choice. I had the Dover Sole which is filleted table side and it was very simple with lemon butter and capers and it was excellent. The Broccoli Rabe was also good and I started with the Manhattan clam chowder and it was good but not amazing. The bread and the fish dip that comes at the beginning is always excellent. The service is usually excellent but this visit was a little slow and I waited 15 mins to get a check. It is a staple for me when I want a good dinner with healthy options and I will most definitely be back. read more

Midtown manhattan white table cloth restaurant. Quite a few expense account attendees here. My wife to quench her thirst started with an Aetna spritz, a blood orange liqueur base. Very refreshing. And I had a markers mark manhattan which was robust in volume! The brought a bread tray with a spongy white toast and crackers. Bread not very good We ordered off the restaurant week menu which in manhattan is the entire month of August! It was $60 pp. Onto appetizers - firstly. Presentation here is exemplary. MK had a wedge salad and I had burrata. Wedge was elevated by warm Smokey bacon as opposed to crumbled earlier in the day prepared bacon. Burrata was creamy on caramelizes onions, evoo and basil. Was a little cold and was better as it warmed up. Main entrees were the bronzino and upgraded to ribeye for $25 up charge. The bronzino was light and flaky. The ribeye was superb! Nice marbling and done perfectly to medium rare. The NY Cheesecake with berries was to NY expectations. Sorbets were also right there. We had a weekday lunch reservation for restaurant week. The restaurant is large, clean, and was not busy while we were there. I liked how the tables were spaced far apart and the service was attentive. I ordered the octopus, steak, and tiramisu. The octopus appetizer was light and perfect for summer, and it came with a good amount of octopus pieces. The steak had a great sear on it, but was overcooked on the inside when I asked for it medium rare. The tiramisu was good, but I was so full I couldn't finish it. Me and my boyfriend went here for Valentines Day, we had their Valentine price fix menu. The food and the service were absolutely amazing. However I do feel as though the entrees didn't quite match up with the price we paid for the experience. Great spot! We enjoyed all our dishes here. For appetizers, you cannot go wrong with the lobster bisque (good amount of lobster) or grilled Spanish octopus. The NY strip is so good (comes out sizzling), the rib eye is tender and if you're a fan of seafood, get the squid ink with lobster. Loved it here! It's a great place for a big group (which is what I went for, a big group celebrating a birthday). The service is great and the menu had a good variety of food even though it is mostly seafood focused so there was something for everyone. I'm not sure if they have vegan options but it was great otherwise. I love, loved the service. The waiter was so kind, thoughtful and funny. He explained everything thoroughly and was very patient. I loved the food. There wasn't anything I didn't like. I tried the octopus, calamari, shrimp cocktail, surf and turf, salmon, lobster mac and cheese, a piece of the tomahawk steak and an apple crumble for dessert. All of it was great! The ambiance is nice and the volume of the restaurant was kind of loud but not loud enough to drown the sounds of my screaming toddler (sorry everyone, he really didn't want his diaper changed). They do have high chairs but no changing station, unfortunately. The bathroom is very small (2 stalls) so maybe there's no room for the changing station but we made do on the window ledge of one of the stalls. Anyhoo, all-in-all, yes. The tuna tartare was perfect, minimal ingredients that highlighted the fish rather than a big scoop of tuna and flavored mayo. Wine selection was immense with quality choices in all price ranges, plus decent martini/cocktails. Crowd was interesting in a good way, there were visiting Japanese businessmen, locals on dates and anniversaries, locals bringing their visiting parents, client dinners, tourists, etc.. My fiancé and I enjoyed a wonderful prix fixe dinner on New Year's Eve... thank you. After our meal, however, we discovered that gratuity and tax were not included, despite the reservation confirmation from OpenTable stating otherwise. I shared this confirmation with the GM that evening, and he mentioned he would follow up on Friday (1/2). I didn't hear back until January 30th, when I was contacted by Christopher, the Client Services Executive Manager. Christopher was outstanding. He listened, understood the issue immediately, and worked with me to reach a fair and satisfying resolution. His professionalism, courtesy, and genuine attentiveness made all the difference. Really nice upscale seafood/steakhouse restaurant in Midtown East. They have a nice $45 3-course lunch prix fixe menu, which is what I ordered from. Spanish Octopus (appetizer) - The octopus was cooked surprisingly well: nice and tender and not too chewy at all. The onions, peppers, and capers also complemented the flavor nicely and added a bit of sweetness. The portion size was a little small though, as it was just a little bit of octopus in the middle of a massive plate. Junior New York Sirloin (entree) - I was a bit disappointed by this steak. They charred it too much to the point where it just tasted burned and that charred flavor and crunchiness definitely took away from the rest of the meat. Apart from that, it was sort of just a normal steak that I honestly could've cooked at home. Tiramisu (dessert) - This was delicious and more of a chocolately flavor as opposed to a coffee flavor (which I personally liked). It was a good fluffy consistency and even had two chocolate sticks in it. The environment here is definitely on the upscale / classy side, with white tablecloths and a spacious seating area. I came for a Monday lunch so not surprisingly, there were only a couple tables occupied at the time. The staff are very professional, friendly, and helpful. The service speed is decent. Overall, I think Sea Fire Grill is a good option if you are looking for a nice lunch/dinner either for a personal celebration, to treat yourself, or for a business meal. While the food could've used a few minor improvements, I am still glad I decided to come here. read more

For drinks , we ordered the sidecar and paper airplane. Both drinks were strong and flavorful 8/10. TLDR: Upscale seafood experience for those that can afford it. The location is great though a little tucked away. The interior gives off class and calmness like being safe from the purge. The servers and those bussing the tables are frequent, polite, and on point. If you leave your hand on the table long enough they may even pick it up and wash it, they're so attentive. The food is certainly quality and comes relatively quickly. I'm glad I came here to celebrate my birthday. Good food and great cocktails are a solid combination. Came here for a team lunch on a Friday at 11:30 AM. We pretty much had the place to ourselves until about 12:15. I took advantage of the preFixe lunch which came with an appetizer, main, and dessert. I selected the octopus for my appetizer, the squid ink spaghetti and lobster for the main and the tiramisu for dessert. The octopus was perfectly cooked and came sliced with capers and peppers. It wasnt too big but had plenty of octopus. The squid ink spaghetti had quite a bit of lobster in it and tasted great. The spaghetti had a nice bite to it and lots of plump tomatoes. Couldnt finish the spaghetti but made sure to find all that lobster. The tiramisu was also lovely and I enjoyed it with a double espresso. For About $45 per person, the pre fixe is a great deal with great quality food. The establishment is lovely and has a nice high top bar if you are looking to have some light bites and drinks but the dining area is airy and bright. The service is great. We didnt feel rushed and we were well looked after. This is a great spot for a midtown lunch. read more

I came here for my husband's birthday last year. It was really crowded and a little loud, even on a Tuesday night - a lot of people dressed up as if they were coming from work. We made reservations and was taken right away. We started off sharing a grilled calamari appetizer, which was small but nicely seasoned. We also shared our entrees, a squid ink spaghetti with lobster and a tuna steak with bok choy. The dishes were well cooked, seasoned and balanced in flavor. The decor was very neat, and definitely East side of Manhattan, nevertheless, neat and clean, and I loved the pretentiousness of it all. It was a little after the general lunchtime and I saw that the bar was empty, and perfect for me as I did not plan to have a big meal. I was mostly there for the oysters Rockefeller, which has become my new obsession. My bartender, Niki was absolutely the best company ever. I enjoyed our conversation very much. She also makes one of the best Mojitos EVER! So to make things quick, I ordered oysters Rockefeller, which were sumptuous. I did my normal thingy when I really like something... I ate really slow because I wanted to savor every bite. I decided to also order a side dish of lobster mac & cheese, because Yelpers gave it the thumbs up.
