We went in with a large group (9) and the place was full, but they put a table together pretty quick and had us seated in less than 10 minutes. They were setting up for the live music as we were seated and sat us directly in front of them, which I wasn't thrilled about at first. But it wasn't too loud and they were very good, fun, and entertaining. Our group really enjoyed them. Most of our group ordered seafood from the "ask your server for our fresh catch selection" (or something like that) section of the menu. Which did not have any prices? I ordered the grilled red snapper, but they brought me mahi-mahi, so as the rest of my table was enjoying their dinner, I was waiting for mine as the kitchen corrected. It wasn't a big deal (these things happen), I'd still consider the service okay. The meal included the fish fillet, and two sides (I had mashed potatoes & fried okra). You could add one of their sauces (for the fish) for around $4 extra (I didn't). When I got the bill I discovered the price ($23) which I though was a little high, considering I didn't get full (I'll admit, I'm a big eater). The fish was plentiful, but the sides were small. I was served what seemed like 3 or 4 bites of mashed potatoes and a small portion of okra. If the sides were a larger portion I would have felt like it was a good value. I'll also add, that we were not served any bread, or anything like that, not sure if they do that here, but most seafood restaurants I've been to do. In the end, I enjoyed my meal, and would give them another try, but it wasn't anything to brag about. read more

I don't know what others experience was but the food and service from Judy was amazing. I had the mixed seafood grill. That plate was your choice of catch of the day. I chose grilled snapper, lobster tail, three Jumbo grilled scallops wrapped in bacon, and three shrimp diablo , which are jumbo shrimp stuffed with jack cheese and jalapeño and wrapped in bacon. We went with four people to eat here today. It was a little after 1:00 pm. Our waitress name was Stephanie. Stephanie was very cordial, happy and accommodating. I do believe people in thier thirties and on up to several decades (like me) are very great professionals. We are responsible, reliable, respectful, and have a job because we want, need and appreciate it! All of our Seafood was fresh, hot, and yummy!! We totally enjoyed every part of our meal. I stuck with the seafood as I like to stay in the speciality of where I am. My catfish and shrimp dinner was so delicious! The sides were also great, especially the fresh greens! My husband went with steak. I was concerned, but thrilled when he said, (multiple times) this steak is the best steak I have ever had and called the server over and asked her to tell the chef how perfectly it was cooked. The real highlight for me was Tracy, our awesome server. She was not only great at what she does, but she was so great to my husband who has a severe hearing problem and some memory issues. She took the time to communicate with him respectfully and was so sweet and understanding. This helped me relax and enjoy myself more. Thanks Tracy! Driving through town and saw the cars at Doc's. Figured, the whole town can't be wrong. They weren't. Had the pleasure of being served by Caroline, the hardest working person at Doc's. Had the Mushroom appetizer, blackened catfish with steamed broccoli on the side. All were very, very good. The Mac and Cheese was 50/50, but I'm a sharp cheddar guy. My wife liked it. Stole a couple of bites of her fried okra and garlic mashed potatoes...they were on point. Washed it down with a cold IPA (really good beer selection). I had a wicked busy day so my plans to stop at HEB on my way home from work got tossed out at about 6pm. I ordered 2 fried shrimp baskets with baked potatoes to go from docs. The lady who answered took and then double checked my order twice before hanging up. I appreciated that. Got there and went to the bar to pick up order...every, and I do mean EVERY staff member that walked by me stopped to greet me with a smile and ask if I'd been helped yet. Got my food, told the supercute male waiter to keep the change. Another big smile and checked one last time to see if I needed anything else. Got home and my order was 100% right and still a little too hot (temperature -wise) it sat about 30 minutes on the bar before we dug in. Perfect! Thank you again for the good dinner and hospitality! Wish I'd read the Yelp reviews before I read the menu and met my friend for lunch. I will say that our waitress was friendly and both of us seemed to enjoy our entrees. Now for the negatives. First, the sides tasted like they came right out of a Sysco or Sam's carton. My fries were the obviously frozen seasoned fries that seem to be popping up at more and more restaurants. If a restaurant is going to serve frozen fries, the more "ordinary" fries seem to actually taste more like real food. My friend also didn't seem thrilled by her broccoli. And for a seafood place that seems to specialize in fried things, I'd have expected the hush puppies to at least approach Long John Silver's quality/ My other complaint was the speed of the service. It approached thirty minutes to get some basic food (grilled fish and chicken fried chicken). Moral of the story -- read Yelp before you read what looks like a promising menu! read more

Nope. I still haven't found the best restaurant in Marble Falls. I recommend that you keep driving. This place needs work with the menu and service. Parts of the menu resemble Long John Silver's, except the price gouging for miniature-sized portions. (The serving spoons in the kitchen are tiny!) This place is overrated. And please don't sit near the bar. It is difficult to sit there with everyone bumping into your chair. If you weigh more than 105 lbs., you will be crushed back there. This place needs some younger ideas and young people influencing the menu and leadership. Where are the young people? Bring them back here to give this place direction, rhythm, and good food again. This is the second time we have dined in at docs fish camp and grill. The first time was a good experience. This time I cannot say the same. The snapper was overcooked and dry and the bread pudding was burnt, to the point of being bitter. The chicken fried steak was good and so was our waitress. Since this establishment is known for fish, then the fish should have been cooked to perfection. I am giving this restaurant two stars only because the wait staff was attentive. Your basic seafood and steak place. It appears to be an established spot which has undergone recent name/management changes. The seafood offerings all seemed to be pre-frozen stuff, just one step up from Long John Silver's. The staff seemed disinterested, and there was no sign of a manager overseeing the operation. The rest of the customers seemed to be in the same catagory as me, passing through town and stopping for a bite to eat. The place is big and well located at a prime highway intersection, so I guess it will survive. Next time, I'll find a different spot to eat. read more

We spent one night in Marble Falls and chose to have our one dinner here. When we first went in, we noticed many empty tables and two groups waiting to be seated. It took 20 minutes for us to be seated and even talk with a wait person. We were served weak iced tea and given time to look at the menu. Although we had a question, we didn't see our (very pleasant) waitress for a while. When our food was finally served, it was incomplete or wrong. The vegetable was not served with the grilled salmon and the salad dressing (that replaced a side they were out of at 8:00 p.m.) was wrong. The salmon was moist and the mushroom caper sauce was interesting. The grilled scallops were good, but the green beans were boring. While we were waiting to even be greeted by a wait person, we contemplated leaving and trying the Italian place across the street. In retrospect, perhaps we should have.
