Dancers getting ready
Connie G.

I walked in at around 4:30pm on a Thursday, an hour before dancing began. The place was relatively quiet. A few young girls were playing on the dance floor. I sat facing the dance floor as the seats around the bar were all taken and I didn't want to hog a table by myself. There is also upstairs seating but that's only open when it gets crowded on the ground floor. I ordered a Coconut Porter ($6.50) and a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The fries could have been crispier and the chicken more savory. The meal was OK. Service by Stephanie fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable here. Most burgers and sandwiches are $13.99. There are 12 beers on tap. Michelob Ultra, Coors Light, Bud Light are the cheap domestic beers My Porter is from the Maui Brewing Company out of Hawaii but there are beers from Barrio And Dragoon Brewing companies out of Tucson as well. The tables quickly filled by 5:30 as an instructor came on stage to show some basic line dance moves. There were mostly women on the floor. People of all ages were on that floor having a good time. This town needed a place like Doc's.

Great place to eat a burger before you get yer 2 step on . They have something going on all the time! Love bands and DJ music!

Yesterday was our first time here. We loved it! Great ambiance and fun. Veteran owned which we love! Sadda at the bar is wonderful and sweet. Looking forward to going there again for Superbowl!

A fun place to be dragged by friends, but the bartenders aren't very friendly. I like the dance floor and that they have live music.

I was very excited to see lesbians and gays In The Wild. I was extremely closeted at home with my first girlfriend, and it was so wild to see gay/straight/bi/et.al. having such a great time in an environment with such a positive vibe. I was initially approached by a really big football player-sized guy asking if I wanted to dance. Just as I began to apologize, one of my new coworkers swept in with her arm around my shoulder pointedly making eye-contact with the man and asking, "Excuse me?" Of course, he began making *his* apologies as he backed away with both hands in the air. All of us laughed. And I was so relieved. And the rest of the night I had a crush on my rescuer. lol. Everybody was dancing. All together. College preppies, head-bangers, punks, new wave kids, black, white, men, women, drag queens, young and old, and everything in between and out of bounds. Back in the 80's. When every kind of person was there. I loved that there were separate spaces for men and women in their own bars off the main dance floor. I loved that everyone danced. I loved that there was rolling signage on the DJ booth speaking to the club's ideology of accepting everyone and harassing no one. I felt safe. For the first time in my very young adult life, I could breathe. I could see the light cracking on the horizon, promising a new day. I had never met a gay person who also wasn't also hiding like me. I met people -for the first time- who were really happy. And not *despite* being gay, because they actually celebrated being gay. Nobody had told me it was going to get better, and yet here I was. Being given permission to be happy as a lesbian was the greatest gift I was given during my time in Tucson and at the Fine Line. A big thank you to the staff at both Tucson locations of Wherehouse Records (circa 1984), particularly the women who showed me how very normal and hilarious and fun I could be while remaining out and visible. Big changes came down when I got home that Fall. Clubs like this need to become the norm in every city and town. A place for everyone and respect for all.

As a judgmental high school stoner out of touch with myself, this place made disco and being…read moredifferent not just OK, but something to celebrate. I always felt safe here. I felt that I could relax, let down my guard, dance like a dork without getting hassled, just have fun and not see anyone else (a VERY diverse crowd) get hassled. I am so sorry it is gone. Thank you Dick Plowman for creating such a cool place.

If you are reading this right now, you are either 18 19 or 20, or plan on going here with someone…read more18 19 or 20...............But anyways.... Ever had flashbacks and whined about how "great" high school was and how horrible the real world is for you? Did you graduate between 1998 and 2008? Then this place is for YOU! Jam packed with fat 18 year old girls, a fake DJ who has iTunes do all the work for him, 115F inside temperature, and overpriced beverages! This place will not only empty your wallet but make you feel 18 again!.......... First of all, i know it's Arizona/Tucson/Desert... etc but this place is so cheap they don't have ANY circulation or AC. I was suffocating just sitting down for 5 minutes. I can't imagine those people that dance for 5 hours nonstop. The drinks are way overpriced, alcoholic and non alcoholic... I actually told my friend that I regretted not chugging a gallon of water prior to entering the club. You should be hydrated prior to or while in here if not you will pass out, no joke. Next, if you are going to meet or socialize with girls. Don't even BOTHER. this place is full of cliques, the "girls night out" groups, and conceited fat 18 year old hipsters. Oh man... if any girl wants a quick ego boost this is the place for that. AGAIN. If arrogant teenage girls is your scene then be my guest... this is NOT a place to meet or talk to women. Me and my (20 year old :/) friend got a good laugh out of guys trying to approach girls and the girls simply walking away LOL. The music/DJ, I LOL'd when some loser with shorts and a shirt (that Zack Morris would have worn in Saved by the bell 20 years old) came out and started dancing. I was like wait.... isn't a DJ supposed to uh.... DJ!? Nope, not here. I could have swore he had an iTunes playlist coordinating the entire thing. This club is dead until about 11:30pm, so if you plan on showing up any earlier you will see an empty dance floor with a couple of losers trying to dance like MC Hammer. In conclusion, the only reason I unfortunately had to suffer here was to accompany an almost 21 year old friend on a Friday night. I know that this place plays metal shows so if I ever come back here... it will only be to see metal shows. I couldn't imagine being a ANYONE being a regular here... lol

I didn't know about this place until it showed up on Yelp as a bar in Sierra Vista about a year…read moreago. I had never heard of it so I decided to check it out. It's located on the north end of a strip mall on the east side of SR92. There is no marquee off the highway, which is one reason it's not easy to find. I put the address in my Google Maps and it got me to the front door. I made Punchy's a meetup place for my beer-drinking friend yesterday. He, too, hadn't heard of it. We both walked in on a Wednesday at 3:45pm. The bar area had its steady clientele and another table of three sat nearby. What people first notice as they enter is the spaciousness. The bar is a horseshoe bar with room for 12 stools. It's a full bar, with 12 beers on tap and many more bottled. Most of the draft beer is only $5. That is on the lower end when compared to other bars in the area. I ended up ordering two different beers during my stay: Big Blue Van wheat beer and a Wow Wheat, and also had a late lunch from the food truck and had a patty melt for $7. It looked and tasted so good, my friend ordered one as well. He had his Dragoon IPA with that. Service was friendly and efficient. I like the dog-friendly shaded patio. I will definitely take advantage of it once it cools down some. There is much going on during the week. Mondays is Cornhole day in the evenings, Thursdays is bike night, and there are bands on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There are at least two pool tables and an air hockey table.
