Bisbee is a small town, and because of that a lot of places aren't open really early. But thank my lucky stars 'Bisbee Royale' was the only spot I knew of that was open at 8am on a Saturday. The exterior looks like a mix of three attractions: a restaurant, a museum, & a movie theater. I can't say if all three of those things are really in there, it's just an impression. I will say that I am glad I took at chance at trying their food at a time when I was seriously hungry. I was invited to sit wherever I wanted, so I chose a table along the wall with a big TV right above me. I was greeted kindly, and given time to order my food, which I decided would be a couple fried eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties, toast, & cheesy grits. They were so good, with the hashbrowns being, as my partner put it, "The best he's ever had!" I personally enjoyed the patties the most, and the grits the least. The grits were made in a way that the shredded cheese was sprinkled on top of the grits instead of mixed in it, and I do not prefer that style. It was still good, just not as good as others I've tried. So that's why I'm not docking points; why be super critical on one side dish when everything else was an A+? I liked the wholesome feel of the restaurant, like everybody knew each other, and the fact that it was pet-friendly was a bonus too. A couple came in with three cute dogs, and that just made me super happy (not to mention, it WAS on my birthday too). I would come here again if I return to Bisbee. read more

Table was dirty / sticky. I got the eggs Benedict the eggs weren't poached right cause the white part was still undercooked. The food was bland. The coffee left a bitter taste in my mouth. The service could have been better and more polite instead of acting like we was an inconvenience. The place was dead we were the only customers and now I know why cause the food was nasty. My husband and I came here back in April, the theater wasn't done yet. And then came back with no plans for NYE, asked the server Joey what to do and told me they had a party going on and selling tickets in the theater. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. What an amazing place with great vibes! There are really only a few food options in Bisbee and this one is a definite must go! My wife and I had breakfast, lunch and dinner here during our visit because the quality, portion size and pricing was perfect. The Carne Asada nachos were so crispy and topped with fresh homemade salsa, cheese and savory Carne Asada steak (we added their amazing guacamole). The Caesar salad had the best homemade croutons we've ever had! They don't skimp on anything here. The burger is a half pound patty with all of the accoutrements and fresh cut crispy french fries. I walked in on a Sunday morning around 8:16.am. There were several tables of customers already enjoying breakfast. I asked the owner if I could order a chicken sandwich instead (the menu says burgers start at 11am) and he said he could make that happen, and he did. I ordered a Royale chicken, sliced white meat in a brioche bun, red peppers, onions, arugula and a sweet-spicy sauce that went well with the seasoned fries. The ambiance was very retro cool. The waitress was very welcoming and took drink orders immediately upon seating. We made our breakfast orders and then....the wait begins. Our waitress comes back and asks us to repeat our order...eventually my husband is served his breakfast sandwich. He says it is very good. I watch him eat it. Time passes. Visited the day after the Bisbee Stair Climb. The wait staff was attentive and quick to offer suggestions on what to eat and what to see before we left town. The coffee was delicious. The greek omelette was filing. My table mates had a burritos and breakfast sandwiches. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I would absolutely go back for the food - fresh, well seasoned, and generous portions. The decor was also a cute nod to the fact that it used to be a theater. First, a sincere shout-out to our waitress, who checked in with us frequently during the nearly 90 minutes from our arrival to our food's arrival. She deserved better than to be the only server on a packed floor. Second, a sincere boo-hiss to the kitchen staff who took our medium-rare steak order and torched it to the far side of well done. Finally, a shuddering WTF to the owner, who sat at the table behind us while we ate our sad little meal (we were very hungry at that point), regaling his two buddies on the joys of hating the transgendered, loathing California, and worshiping Trump, who would be deporting 4,000,000 people the day he took office. We walked in and sat ourselves in the bar area at the urging of the bartender. It was downhill from there. Bunny handled our drinks in reasonable time. She took our food order right away. Things on the menu were not available because "somebody" hadn't ordered the ingredients. We made our choices from what they had. And then we waited... and waited... The air got uncomfortably warm and smoke from the kitchen filled the air. We were assured we need not worry because the place "always gets smoky" when there are lots of orders on the grill. Really? Makes you wonder if the Fire Marshall and/or the Health Inspector know this point about the ventilation system here. We got the grilled chicken sandwich, the BLT, the hamburger, a mushroom omelette, and a vegetarian panini. The chicken, BLT and burger were "meh", and the omelette was too awful to eat per my SIL. The panini, made by Bunny, was the only thing that was truly well made; my daughter raved about it. Everything was sided with breakfast potatoes that were of a flavor and consistency that was at odds with the lunch entrées. Again, it's all they had. The owner was there washing dishes. That probably needed to be delegated; if delegation was not possible, "somebody" needed to be managing the front of the house. Bunny was our waitress. A gem! The menu has just enough variety to please everyone, and maintain quailty of the food. The Royale cheeseburger was reminiscent of a great burger off a bbq grill! The chicken quesadilla was flavorful, and the salsa was great. Probably homemade. Even the fried were good. The cocktails were exactly what we wanted on a warm afternoon. They have a number of options on the menu: beer, wine, and mixed drinks. The bartender was exceptionally competent and induldged me in adding blackberry flavor to my vodka club soda. The interior is fun and nostalgic with beautiful wall decor, bar, and fun table tops. I'm so glad this is finally open after watching the progress for the last couple years. It's beautiful inside, a work of art! There's a dragon on the ceiling that blows smoke and wonderful details all throughout. We had really delicious food served by our friendly and enthusiastic owner/ waiter! We live nearby, so we will definitely make this part of our regular rotation. Currently, they're only open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day, but as soon as they get staffed, they'll be open for dinner, as well. Ambiance: was pretty great visually. But the kitchen yelling about stuff right as I'm having dinner conversation is very hard to get around. Was there any thought of the customer? It's a cool design but not very well thought out. The food: was pretty good, nothing I'd run home about but took quite a while. You'd think with the customers looking right at you you'd pick up the pace. But they took their time yelling across the room. On the bright side I saw on my receipt that I had gotten "the employee discount" very nice surprise. I've attended a couple performances at the Bisbee Royale and thoroughly enjoyed both productions. The place provides an intimate setting with an old school vibe and the staff is very friendly.
