This "drop" ride is a lot different from your average, comparable rides at other amusement parks and fairs. It's a lot more smooth and just an enjoyable view being so far up, rather than a stomach flipper that constantly makes you freak out or whatever. So if you don't like rides like this as much, this is a better one to go on because it's definitely a lot more mild. Only bad thing is it's also a really short ride, after the initial shoot up you just slowly come down and that's it, so it goes really fast. I wouldn't wait for it if there's a long line but if it's a shorter wait I'm more than happy to go on because it's a great ride.

Universal's Island of Adventure (Florida) MARVEL SUPER HERO ISLAND pavilion Seeing this ride really got my adrenalin pumping. I loooove this kind of attraction! It's a thrill ride but it's not a roller coaster type of ride. The initial launch blasted us 185 feet into the sky! whoohoo! wheee! From there we were suspended briefly at some crazy height before being gently lowered back to the loading platform bouncing us several times, slowing down each time until we came to a complete stop... as it did this we enjoyed the cool view of the rest of the park. The anticipation of the upward acceleration (as I felt my bottom rise slightly off my seat) was the most thrilling part for me because we never know when that seat is going to take off into the sky! It's nerve wracking and pure adrenaline rush! I absolutely love it! There are no lockers provided in this ride, instead they have a storage bin in the compartment where the ride is located (two on each side of the compartments). Don't worry, other guests will not have access to your stuff while you are on the ride. The only downside to this ride is that it is way too freakin' short. Boo! :( Oh, and don't forget to stop by Kingpin's Arcade when you exit the ride to see Doctor Doom's throne. Find this attraction in the Marvel Super Hero pavilion at Universal's Islands of Adventure side of the resort. Review #1581

This is just an ok drop ride. I am not a big fan of waiting in long rides just for a quick take you up and drop you type of rides. This one is just cooler than the other ones because of the Dr Doom gimmick and gives you things to look at while you are waiting. But it is a one and done for me. Not worth waiting in line

Short ride with the minimal thrill Like Spiderman and Hulk, this is also at Marvel Superhero Island, inside Islands of Adventure. it is tough to miss with it's huge, 200 ft tall twin towers. for me waiting time was 30 minutes. the anxiety I have waiting for the doors to open to get on is tough. then another eternity waiting for the ride to start once we were in our seats. The initial shot to the top is sudden and somewhat scary, but the ride is almost over at this point. You get a good view of the park, slowly drift back down to Earth, and then wait for your seats to come up initial shot up is the best part. ...otherwise, pass on this one... the ride is very short and is only worth riding if there's little waiting. I would suggest heading here at the start of your day or towards the end of it when wait times are minimal. Bottom line: If the line is short, go for a quick thrill, but not worth of 30 Mins-1 hr wait

If you like fast and intense (no pun intended) this is the ride for you. On a Monday the wait time is less than 10 minutes, we basically walked right up to the front! Yay!! And got on. Once you get on it's a straight shot into the clouds and before you know it, sadly, it's over... but it was fun while it lasted!!!!

Doctor Doom's Fear Fall is located at Marvel Superhero Island, inside Islands of Adventure. It is situated just behind the Spider-Man building, although it is tough to miss with it's huge, 200 ft tall twin spires. The ride's premise is that Doctor Doom needs human fear to power his ultimate weapon, and apparently you've volunteered to have yours sucked out. How best to do that? Get launched 150 feet up in the air in about a second and a half. As a ride, Doctor Doom's Fear Fall is similar to many attractions at other amusement parks. So it has a bit of a been-there-done-that feel. Nevertheless, I still highly recommend it for one reason alone: You get a breathtaking view of the neighborhood. This also amps up Doctor Doom's re-ride appeal, since there are four directions you can face when seated. Fun fact: According to Universal's website, the initial launch at the beginning of the ride uses more thrust than a 747 jet engine and accelerates faster than the space shuttle. Insider tip: From a "scary" point of view, this ride is all bark and no bite. I used to be terrified of these types of rides--I couldn't go on Disney's Tower of Terror until I was an adult. But for this ride, just like Tower of Terror, the anticipation of the launch and drop is 90 percent of the scariness. The actually going up and coming down is only about 10 percent. In other words, just do it and get it over with. Trust me, you'll be back for more.

Looks cool but wasn't fun or scary

We had a beautiful day to visit and smiled throughout the day. Some of our best moments were walking through the various city streets and seeing musical performances and dancing. The walkways were wide and we were never on top of other guests. Most rides had reasonable wait times and/or offered single rider options. The locker areas for cramped, but I appreciated how many of the wait queues were indoors, keeping us cooler and away from the rain. The Harry Potter sections were amazing, just amazing. I couldn't have imagined how it would have felt being in the middle of the space. Restaurants, both sit down and quick service, were scattered throughout the park. I loved that we didn't have to worry plan in advance to get a spot at either. My only downside to Universal Studios is that some of the themes felt outdated or just aren't favorite characters of mine. At least this helped to decrease the temptation of spending money on apparel or merchandise.

We were able to do everything we wanted to quickly and easily. During a non busy time we did everything my kid wanted to do in about a half a day. Saving a few things for when we did HHN as we knew we needed a few time killers while we waited for the staged openings of the haunts. We skipped the little kids area and Jimmy Fallon, due to lack of interest and not being geared to our age group. I'll be interested to see what they do to bring new life to this park when the Simpsons contract runs out, especially since they are closing the Animal actor experience. So that's a sizeable amount for something new! For HHN, it ran well for us. I liked that they had two houses open at 2, and then we hit some haunts as they opened at 515 or 545. Thought I will say our feet ended up killing us from having to bounce back and forth. Since where they had two haunts that felt like a long walk off to the side where one opened at 2 but the other didn't open for a little more than 3 hours after it, so made for some unexpected back tracking.

They have a convenient parking garage where the first three floors are paid parking, while the fourth floor and above are free. That was a nice bonus and made getting there easy. I was actually on my way to a restaurant, so exploring the park wasn't part of the plan. But once I walked inside, I couldn't help but look around. There were restaurants, food vendors, candy shops, drink stands, and so much more. The atmosphere was lively, fun, and full of energy. It looked like the perfect place for families, couples, or anyone just looking to spend a few hours enjoying themselves. All three of these together took up about two hours and then we were able to go to Cafe tu tu tango to get a bite to eat. This was a great half day experience while we were visiting Orlando. There was a parking garage and parking was super easy. By that time we left around 8:30 PM there were so many cars, but when we first got there at about 5 PM there were tons of spots. They do have parking spots you can pay for in the lower levels so it seems like if you're willing to pay there will always be parking. If you want free parking, you need to go earlier because this seems to be popular for nightlife. I always appreciate when there's so many attractions together that you can walk to. This place has quite a few restaurants, some shops and the attractions all in a contained area. It was very clean and when we came, there was a huge police presence, because apparently a couple weeks before there was hundreds of teenagers that descended to the area and fought. So the place was doing a really good job making sure that everything was safe. This is a place for both families and non-families alike.

Staff working the gift shop have a window that opens to the entrance where they will scan your wrist band (admission is free with fun spot wrist bands). Admission just to the Gator spot is only $6. I purchased that and the option to feed the gators. I wish they had pointed out the Ultimate admission offer that you get admission, a photo & feeding for a discounted price - I did end up purchasing photos as well as some fun stuff in the gift shop. I waited for my opportunity while the photographer did some photos of the family ahead of me. It was pretty comical watching the reactions of people when they get held the animal or freaking out asking why the live animal is moving while they hold them. There was no one after me so I asked if I could get a photo with Cheesecake & Grumpy so I could make my mom a Mother's Day Card. Cheesecake was a very calm gator with very beautiful intriguing eyes, she is very mellow and would be good for those unsure about holding one. Grumpy on the other hand had been feisty all day according to the worker. She was moving and wiggling around. The group in front of me jumped up and asked why she doing that when she started wiggling. I don't know if she just liked me or if she could sense how awesome I thought this was but she was so calm when I held her, she even closed her eyes while I had her.
