This is long overdue. I needed the locks on the house I purchased re-keyed. Two of the doors needed dead bolts as well. Dr. Locksmith arrived several minutes before our scheduled appointment. He went above and beyond what I would expect. One of the doors wasn't flush to the wall; the weatherstripping had been applied over older weatherstripping and the plate on the door knob lock had been moved to make it work. He removed the old weatherstripping; re-positioned the metal plate for the lock on the door knob and installed the dead bolt lock. He then reattached the new weatherstripping back to the frame. He could have just installed the deadbolt lock, and I would never have known until someday it was pointed out or I realized it on my own. It certainly would have been less work for him. Then he added the deadbolt for the basement door. All the locks were re-keyed to work on one key and several keys were made. When testing the keys, the outside front storm door wouldn't catch on the lock unless one pressed a knee into the door. Steven went out of his way to fix the problem. Altogether he spent over three hours installing and rekeying locks. As to price, I didn't have the opportunity to shop around, but researching after the fact showed he charged a very fair price. Its the second time i have the need of a locksmith. My family has my keys and my Dad used to fix any problem I've ever had with my door or locks. But, when I moved to my new place, i suddenly realized how many sets of keys for that aprtment had been floating about. Granted, I was going to change the locks anyways. I mean, who knowingly keeps the same locks on an apartment they move into anyways? I asked onto my neighborhood facebook page, and multiple friends endorse Kevin with Doctor locksmith. I e-mailed for a quote and Kevin replied right away. He had a lot of flat rate packages on offer, but since I had gotten my own deadbolt, he adjusted the rate. He was courteous, amiable and most importantly, he changed my locks and made sure that everything worked properly, making adjustments to ensure the lock work. I really like that his services are offered. I've heard many horror stories of locksmiths that take advantage of you and charge you for little things after they get you in with the initial quote. Kevin was extremely responsive and quick to schedule me a same-day appointment. He arrived right on time, and was very efficient changing the locks. He even secured the doors better than they were originally positioned, and pointed out a structural issue in one of the doors that if went unnoticed, would lead to water damage issues down the road.
