I took my 19 yr old house guest into this business, so that she could get a prescription for a cold sore. No other patients were present. The three employees behind the desk were slow and uninterested. She filled out forms and waited 45 minutes. No patients came out. Finally she saw the doctor, who gave her a prescription for pills. When she returned to the outer desk to have her debit card docked for $75, the employee said that the MD had changed the prescription to a cream. Her insurance is in Mass. with no prescription coverage. Off to CVS we find that the $20 pills were changed to the $450 cream. Does this doctor have a financial relationship with the pharmaceutical manufacturer? All in all, this out-of-state visitor invested the majority of a work day, and experienced an alleged attempt to scam her insurance company, but in her case, it would have been her debit card. Now we are waiting more than 24 hours for a refill request to be filled by the Doctor. The US medical system is broken, but these Urgent Care businesses are making far to much money too easily by scamming the system. Avoid them. read more

Very nice, kept me in the loop when they were running behind due to technical difficulties. I didn't have to wait as long as I have in the past at other urgent care places. Very friendly staff in the office and over the phone. The doctors take their time while you are in the office. Each time I visit there hasnt been a long wait. I like that they provide me with a print out when I leave. They also make sure to send in the prescriptions to your pharmacy as soon as you leave. Very professional, clean and friendly. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The male nurse? was the only good thing about this place. He was the only one who showed compassion of any kind. Waited 2 hours, they make you pay up front, for what? Only the doctor to tell you what you already know. Please Tell me how to make my stomach ulcer go away ,or refer me to someone who can. I have to say, for my first experience here, I couldn't have asked for a more professional, friendly, and very informative pair such as Dr. Sasson and Jeff. Thank you both. Unfortunately my regular PCP couldn't get me in today and I had to suffer though the experience that is doctors-on-duty. We came in for exam and vaccines for her to be registered for school and refill on medication. They kept us waiting for an hour after collecting a $200 deposit. Then after getting weight, temperature, pulse/ox and bp, we get put into a room and the medical assistant takes a brief overview of what's already written on the paper. She leaves the room and comes back and says they can't touch her because she needs to be seen at a pediatrician. Then they don't have any pediatric vaccines and won't prescribe a refill. 2 hours and $200 later we leave and collect the refund since the doctor never even stepped into the room. read more

I thought this place might be better with a new clinic manager. It's not. I went there. They refer me to a specialist. I call the specialist they tell me they don't have an appointment until September, and they don't have the referral from doctors on duty anyway. This was always a problem with the previous manager Ciara, the referrals just didn't get there. So I call doctors on duty back and tell them the situation the lady said they would get back to me tomorrow morning and try to get me into somewhere else. 6 days go by. I hear nothing from them. So I call. I explain myself to a guy on the phone. He says oh there's no notes here (par for the course at this place)He puts me on hold. He then picks up and says so you need a referral. I explain myself again saying i need a sooner appointment. He puts me on hold again. I wait. He picks up the phone a few minutes later and says how can i help you, I'm like wow i have to explain myself again, i ask to speak to a manager who seemed like she was just placating me, oh yes that's frustrating. No one there actually takes responsibility for their actions. 0 accountability or integrity. As soon as we walked in, Anne N the receptionist at the time was more than accommodating and escorted us straight to the back because she noticed how unwell my friend was. This Doctors on Duty has saved my life on numerous occasions. In the last two years I have gone through a cardiac tamponade, and colon cancer and Dr D' Ambrosio, Sierra and Angelica have made sure all the test I have needed and medication were ordered in a timely manner and all claims were processed in a timely manner. I love walking into the office and being greeted by the staff like family. My wife and I both have medical issues and always know that our medical concerns are number one priority when we walk in the door until we walk out. I visited D on D yesterday for a severe sore throat and dry cough. Office Staff: Alex and Ann were very kind and efficient, as I noted while there that they took multiple calls, setting up appointments, etc., while also accommodating busy desk traffic. Oh, they both did all this while also training a new office staff member! Medical Assistant: Derek, M.A. was also very kind and efficient, who guided me to my examination room after taking my vitals. He also took a swab of my throat as ordered by the nurse practitioner (explained below). Derek called me twice, leaving a voicemail on the 2nd call, because I forgot to take my work release form with me when leaving my appointment; I later retrieved it. Nurse Practioner: Jessica, N.P., was very kind, pleasant and noticeably very knowledgeable. After a series of questions of my symptoms and a physical examination, she readily diagnosed me with acute rhinitis and a sore throat (pharyngitis), but only after ordering a "rapid test" (swab) to rule out strep throat. I was convinced that I had strep throat!! Hehe Jessica thoroughly explained how to use the prescription medications I would be taking. As a result of her medical acumen and thoroughness, and prescriptions she sent to my pharmacy, I am feeling much better this afternoon. She also recommended warm saltwater gargles to sooth my sore throat and reduce swelling; she also suggested taking NSAIDs for my sore throat, which releaved my painful and scratchy throat. Yes, I would visit D on D shall the need arise in the future...great office staff, great medical staff, wonderful Doc., Jessica, pleasant office layout and convenient location. read more

They know he moved, they refuse the LAW of sending written for requested records. As result, my referral timing ran out, for treatment in SF for Epilepsy. After calling before-hand to make sure there was a lab tech on duty (I needed x-rays), after a 2 hour wait I was told the lab tech "had stepped out". Strike One. Waiting further to finally see Dr Jessica I found out that the lab tech was waiting for a home delivery of a refrigerator and should be back by 2:30. The Dr was very nice and said her receptionist would call me when the tech returned. When I mentioned this to the receptionist she basically responded in a not-too-pleasant way that no, I would need to call them. Strike Two. At 3:00 when I called to ask if tech was back I was told she had not returned. I had fallen the day before late in the afternoon and I was completely unable to put pressure on or walk on my foot, and Dr. Jessica's recommendation was to get get X-rays and she would refer me to an ortho surgeon or podiatrist. Calling DOD in Monterey I found there was a tech there and that I could head on over. All the folks there were most pleasant and helpful and I was in and out as I did not have to see a doctor. That was Friday 12/29, the beginning of the New Year's holiday weekend. Today I called Seaside DOD to get an update and was told in a curt way that there were no X-rays and that the lab tech was not again not in today. Strike Three. I finally called Monterey DOD who most assuredly let me know that the X-rays had been sent to Salinas Valley Imaging/Radiology. Both Yvette and Samuel were professional and helpful in the Monterey location. Based on all this I have made an appointment in Monterey for a follow-up with Dr. Millie Joseph and do not have plans to return to the Seaside location even though it is much closer to my home. read more

I had a terrible experience in this office and I will never return. Dr. Dias is a joke as doctor not a very caring doctor. He asked a couple of questions and didn't give much of an exam. I must of spent less than ten minutes with him . Gave me some kind of diagnosis and a prescription for pain and was on my way out. I was very upset that he didn't spend more time, when I spent a lot of time in the waiting room and then more time in the exam room before the doctor came in. I usually do not write reviews, but after looking at some reviews posted I feel very compelled. Today, I brought in my daughter who is 10 years old to be seen. She had fallen at school and was so sore! As soon as we entered the facility we were greeted by many smiling faces, they told us to sign in and then we were given our paperwork. There was not a long wait in front of us, which was nice. Monica called us in and treated my daughter very kindly, my daughter was so nervous. She took her vitals and then placed us into a room. We were seen by Dr. Diaz who was very wonderful with my daughter, very patient and kind. My daughter hates going to the doctor's office so this was such a great experience for her. She was able to see what good care is all about. Thank you to all that made our experience here wonderful! We left with a concise report and all our questions were answered. I was vacationing in Pacific Grove. I was hiking in the Big Sur area when I fell and fractured my elbow. DOD got me in right away, got the elbow xrayed and was given treatment and off I went. The lady at the desk was very nice, the doctors assistant was efficient and the doctor who took care of me was very gentle and knew what the issue was right away (even before the x-ray). They do offer medication to get you started (which I declined). That is very convenient. I had no problems with my insurance and didn't even have to make a co-pay. I hope I never have need of their services again but if I do - I will go back! read more

I saw Dr. Diaz for a work related injury. What a good man. So caring and attentive! ALSO the Xray tech ANGELICA was the most patient person. I observed her patience while sitting getting my BP done and during my xray.. What a sweet woman. This place is the worst if you see Dr. Diaz. I have been there twice and after a few questions he decided I needed to go to emergency even though I came in knowing what my issue was since it has occurred 3 times before. He was convinced that it was something more serious and recommended a $10,000 test at the hospital. After 6 hrs at the hospital I was diagnosed with the condition I knew i already had and got the antibiotics I needed. A year and a half later I again went in and Dr. Diaz was on duty again and AGAIN he refused to treat me and recommended that I go AGAIN for the same test at the hospital. This time I did not take his advice but this office billed my insurance and I again had to pay my deductible. This looks like a scam and I do NOT recommend this facility. read more

$205 for a 3 minute visit when all I needed was a prescription for a recurring issue. They didn't even have to guess because I came to another dod when the issue first occurred. This was a great medical center. The wait times were very low, if any. Stephanie at reception was completely professional and curtious. Anni was great with my xrays. My daughter needed a physical for summer camp. So I called our pediatric practice to schedule this in early May, and was told that I'd have an 8-week wait. I then called Doctors on Duty in Seaside and had an appointment set for within a week's time. Once there, I did have to wait about 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment, however, as soon as the doctor came into the examination room, the appointment moved at a rapid pace. I received very attentive treatment from the receptionist, the intake nurse, and the doctor herself, as well as the nurse who administered the immunizations. All told, a pleasant experience. DOD medical services obviously serve a market need; they exist and succeed because traditional doctors' offices can't/won't always respond as efficiently or practically as a stand-alone medical services center can. The Seaside DOD facility is testament to this. read more
