I recently visited Dodds for a dental cleaning, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. My employer offers to reimburse a percentage of certain dental services, so I pay entirely out of pocket. When I scheduled my appointment I informed them of this and let them know I would need to know the prices of services before they are performed since I do not have traditional insurance. As the appointment goes on there are several scans that are recommended, which prompts me to ask the price of each additional service before they do them. To make a long story short, I explained to Dr. Dodds that I may one day get my own delta dental PPO plan ($64/mo- see photo attached) but for now I plan to pay out of pocket and have my employer reimburse me. Dr. Dodds said there was no way I could get a delta PPO direct plan for that amount. I kept trying to explain this to him, but he continued to condescendingly tell me it's impossible and must be through covered CA or I'm looking at an HMO plan (which they don't accept). As the appointment went on it was clear me to that the staff and doctors were very irritated that I asked for the prices of services. All in all, Dodds Dental assumed that I was low income and could not afford their services. Fortunately, I have a well paying job and make well over 6 figures. Regardless, it's quite unnerving to me that if you are assumed to be low income that Dodds Dental would treat you in a poor manner and make you feel unworthy of their office. I cannot support a dental office who treats people differently based on their income status. I suggest that anyone who values treating all people equal regardless of race, income status, physical appearance, etc do the same. I hope this is a wake up call and they can do better for those who come into their office in the future. read more

Dr Dodd came to my rescue after a fake dentist did some unethical treatment. Or should I saw "did not treat me but charged me $3900 to just cement my cap back. After weeks of suffering I was blessed to find this amazing staff. I had a great experience today as a new patient. I loved how you could fill out the paperwork online a few days before the appointment. The reminder texts are very helpful. There's complimentary parking behind the building. Very easy to find parking and connects to the main lobby. The girls in the front were really nice and welcoming. It didn't take long for me to get seated. Dr. Dustin was really kind and answered all my questions and concerns. Donna did my cleaning. She was so sweet and took her time. I highly recommend Dodd's Dental for all of your dental needs. The office is beautiful and clean, equipment is state-of-the art, dental team is STELLAR, and they are reasonably priced. I had a great assessment visit and thorough cleaning. I felt very comfortable setting some cosmetic goals with Dr. Dodd and am super excited to see them come to to fruition! Started coming to this Dental office due to Yelp reviews and being that is so close to home. The place is clean and modern. The reason for my 3 stars is due to two issues. First one: This facility charges when you miss your appointment with out notice, but when they don't see you on time it's okay. Time is money does not apply to the patient. Second: Cant believe I was that stupid to pay the few hundred dollars for uncomfortable plastic teeth whitening molds. Only used them twice. read more

I really appreciate the service I received from Dr. Emily Dodds and Sarah, the dental assistants. Dr. Dodds explained to me clearly showing the x-rays/photographs, what needs to be done before the start of the treatment. She checked with me multiple times to see if the anesthesia has taken effect. I did not feel rushed at all. Great dentists and staff! Very forthright and conscientious and just overall nice people, even when dealing with difficult, skeptical patients. I asked a lot of questions about how much everything would cost before coming in, and everything was exactly as they said it would be. As a child, my eye tooth never descended and had to be surgically removed from my jaw. Now that I finally have good dental coverage decades later, I called Dodds Dental regarding getting a bridge. I scrolled through these reviews and found no mention of anyone getting a bridge done at the office. I called and was told they don't do bridges but, having a good feeling about the office, I came in anyway. Rather than just doing a bridge, Dr. Dodd sent me to an oral surgeon to see if I could get an implant (i.e. he cared more about my dental health than making a profit). Unfortunately, the bone had already deteriorated after all these years so that it could no longer be built up enough for an implant. Upon returning to Dr. Dodd, since the best choice of an implant was impossible, he agreed to do a bridge for the missing tooth. They made a mold for a temporary bridge and scheduled me for the procedure. He also made sure the bridge looked nice and matched my other teeth. I got the bridge and literally had no pain after the initial sedation wore off that day! The nurse said that would be the case, but as most of us know, that rarely is the case. It was the first time I've had zero pain after a major dental treatment like that. Then the bridge didn't seat right, so he sent it back. The new redone bridge fits perfectly! Thanks for making sure the bridge got done right so it will hopefully last a few more decades! The staff also texts you to let you know when it's ready. It's all around a pleasant experience! read more

I tried for two years to find something good to say about this dentist. I had fillings and crowns. I was experiencing a lot of pain and mr. Dodd was very condescending and kept comparing me with the average patient pain. when I would raise my hand that I needed more numbing I could hear an audible sign from him. This gave me extreme anxiety which caused me to cry. I left this way twice. I tried to address this to him on maybe using some sedation he look at me and said "WE DONT DO THAT!" He said maybe Valium but it was really hard to process It through the pharmac. What? i suggest trying Dr. Stephen Coates. One hundred times better and when Dr. Coates saw the crown Mr. Dodd did he was not happy and I will have to repair it. It you have to go here try the wife she may be more reasonable about pain management. I would have given zero stars but the girls at the desk and who do the cleaning are a delight. Dodds dental is a husband/wife practice. I've been going for a couple years and see Dr. Dustin. I've had great experiences especially with having my teeth straightened using the clear trays. Recently I took my two year old to see Dr. Emily for her first dental appointment. The staff really made it a great experience for her. The office when we made a fuss over her and gave her stickers crayons and a coloring book while we were waiting. When we went into the exam room Dr. Emily took the time to put on Cocomelon at the request of my daughter on the TV. She was very sweet to my daughter and extremely informative. She also took her time and answered all my questions. I'm glad to have a dentist team that I can go to as an adult as well as bring my toddler and feel like we are both getting great care. read more

I had such a good experience at Dodds dental. I went there for clear correct to get a couple of my teeth straightened out. Every-time I called to make an appointment the front desk ladies were very sweet and accommodating. Also, when I got there I never had to wait because Emily and Dustin Dodds were on time. I am a full time student, so paying for my clear correct was very concerning for me. However, Dodds dental takes care credit so it made paying easy if your insurance doesn't cover anything. The front desk helped me set up my payments and gave me all of the info I needed. Overall, everything was excellent! Without insurance they helped me by offering a program through Kleer to help pay for the number of things I needed fixed, but that was the least they did, I'm not a fan of the dentist, but Dr. Dodds is a true professional at his craft and the staff is a reflection of that.
