I am going to have to drop my mom from speed dial and make room for Dodge. These guys have been out 3 times in 2 weeks...not because they did a bad job but because we keep adding work. We have had problems with power sags and surges for months. Calls to a few of our neighbors confirmed we were not alone. Two weeks ago, we had a surge so bad, we lost power in several areas of the house. Flipping the breakers back on sounded like bacon frying. Jim came to the rescue on short notice and determined the sizzling was dirt and there was technically nothing wrong with the breakers, and he was not even going to charge us for the call. When we told him about the problems we had been having, he suggested we change our "mini" breakers out for full-size models. Done. Ed came out a few hours later. Next day we notice the surge had blown out the electrical on the dryer. Oh, there was the added bonus that whenever our neighbors fired up their jackhammer, our lights dimmed. We decided to have Dodge put in a whole-house surge protector thanks to SRP. While Jim was here, he tested the voltage and determined the spikes and drops were ridiculous. He called SRP himself. Now when we called, they didn't seem particularly interested, but when Jim called, two SRP trucks show up within 30 minutes. It took all of 2 minutes for them to determine the neutral was so bad that they immediately cut power and started digging. Visit 3 was earlier this week. Our landscaper had noticed there was no power to the irrigation system. Apparently my husband knew there was a problem with the GFCI outlet but "forgot" about it. He did try to fix it, but the wiring was such a fiasco he gave up. And out comes Jim again. He mentioned he's actually a contractor by trade. Perhaps, he should build himself a house next door. I could keep him busy for years. Good honest, reliable company. Will be my go-to electrician from now on! read more

I had an issue with my Insteon 3-way switches in the kitchen. It wasn't wired up like some of the other switches I was able to install. I finally decided to call in a professional. Luckily, Dodge has experience with these smart switches! That was all I needed to hear. Seth came by around 9am this morning and got busy. He ended up in the attic to find some creative wiring (not my doing!) and was able to sort it all out and had our switches dimming away in a few hours. Super nice, super professional. I would NEVER have been able to figure this out. Plus he cleaned up the 4-gang box that held one of the switches. I couldn't be happier. If you've ever used Insteon switches (They can be controlled with your phone and Amazon Echo - all voice commands) they're amazing. But the 3-ways are set up differently and take a little YouTube research to figure out. Save time and call Dodge. This was well worth it to us. Finally we can call that project DONE! read more

Drop dead awesome! Dodge Electric is my hero. My tenant calls me 9pm Saturday to say the refrigerator has defrosted and she has no power in the front part of the house...."Ya don't say", is all I can think of! My husband, Mr. Fix it, is out of town and I need help, um, NOW! No the circuit breaker is not flipped to off, which is as far as my electrical knowledge extends. I offer to pay for a hotel, ouch! So, first thing on Sunday I start dialing and 14 calls later, I reach Mike at Dodge Electric. Do know how tough it is find an electrician who works on something other than A/C? I explain the problem and the age of the house - 30 years - and he tells me the parts will be tough but he will go to work on it right away and he does. 5 hours later, I have a happy tenant who has a working refrigerator, a bunch of new wiring and electricity through out the house. Also, he tells me that the line running to the house needs to be worked on and gets APS to do their part. These guys are great, honest, hard working and affordable. This far this has been a two star experience; had to negotiate a time to do an estimate since it was made clear they won't come up outside of 8 am to 330 pm. I sent an inquiry online through yelp, and was called within a few hours. Upon getting on the phone I was informed that estimates were only given between 8 am and 430 pm, Monday they Friday. This made it quiet inconvenient for me to arrange a time during working hours when I have an hour commute. I got the guy on the phone to commit to having someone at my door at 8 am on Friday (I had arranged this on Tuesday). Friday comes around, 8 am. 8:05. 8:10. Get a call that says "I will be there in 15 to 20"; now I am sure this company does good work based off reviews and pictures, but arranging to call 15 minutes after an agreed meeting time doesn't spell out customer service. Maybe the attitude changes after money has exchanged hands, but certainly puts a sour outlook on me picking an electrician in a multiple bid situation. Electro an shows up for the bid at 8:30 and is quite friendly. He comes in, I explain what I am looking for. He takes a few pictures of the area where the work will be done, then says we will get you an estimate ASAP. I am not sure why I couldn't take the very same pictures of my ceiling and send them in without arguing on the phone to arrange a time (that wasn't met), but I digress. Another frustrating factor was getting an email at 430 pm on Friday afternoon stating my estimate wouldn't be ready until Monday. For a minor situation, this seems like a ton of run around, disorganization, and disregard for time. Low and behold the estimate is over 600 dollars to just install lights while cutting into drywall and not repairing it. Why would I pay someone to tear into the roof and then not repair it? The entire point of having a professional do it is so they would be able to run the electrical lines through the structure. I wouldn't recommend using this company based on the negative experience just getting a damn estimate a week after. read more

I needed an EV charging outlet installed. They came out to assess/discuss exactly what I was looking for. A quote was provided within a few days. I asked a few follow-up questions to make sure I understood the pricing and the response timing was very prompt and thorough. My experience with Dodge Electric was fantastic! Upon calling the number, an electrician answered and scheduled with me right away. A gentleman named Preston came on time (bit early even!) and deciphered the problem instantly. The power in half the house had blown from using a space heater and switching the breakers on and off immediately after the outage had not helped. After contacting the power company, they advised us that we may need an electrician's help. Preston informed us that the breakers need to cool down and if you try resetting them right after an outage, it might not bring the power back. But if you try again later, it will work. Wish we had known this, and avoided wasting his time! But he was very courteous and let us know to contact them again if any other problem should arise. I wish we could have paid him for his time! Dodge Electric came out yesterday to my 88 year old mother-in-law's as the circuit for her microwave quit working. She initially thought the microwave needed replacement but I found it was the outlet and that the breaker appeared bad (I will admit I am no expert!). The rep found that the breaker just needed to be properly reset and the circuit and microwave were fine. They did not even charge for the service call! We had Dodge Electric come out to give us estimates on 3 projects at our home. They provided us with solutions to complete the projects and reasonable estimates. We asked them to begin the first project, installation of electric wiring and a ceiling fan. They scheduled us for the following Thursday and Seth & Brendan showed up right on time. They showed they respected our home by coming to the door with face masks on, covered our furniture to avoid dust, did the job with minimal mess and cleaned up. Installation of the electrical wiring was very professionally done as was the ceiling fan. They were courteous and did the job quickly. We have used Dodge Electric several times. The only issue I have had that has been bad (for me, not for them) was that they are always booked out and it's hard to get an appointment quickly. AND you have to have them come out, give you a bid, and then schedule again for them to do the work. Their work has always been top-notch, although they do leave the drywall repairs for another person to do, just so you know (I would think that's normal for electricians). But they have had to fix botched electrical jobs that others have done and they fixed them well, or did our jobs right the first time, every time we have used them. read more

These guys are great. We had issues with the electric in our bathroom turning on and off randomly. Of course, when the guys showed up, it was on and they couldn't figure out the issue. However, at the same time, the ceiling fan in my daughter's bedroom went out. Come to find out, it was very unsafe and the guys were able to let me know this. They came back the next day and installed a new fan that was safe! Back to the bathroom-for 2 weeks the power would go on and off. But when the guys came back 2 more times, it was still on. Then it went out for good and they were able to troubleshoot and fix it. So happy!!!! I was expecting a HUGE bill for all of the visits and work, however, when I received the bill, I was extremely surprised at how FAIR the pricing was! I highly recommend Dodge. All of their techs are pleasant, knowledgeable and just great to work with. I have formally been banned for life from ever attempting to do my own electrical work. Seriously. The Dodge Electric electrician told me this. The guy who came out was inappropriately hilarious and I will definitely use him again...as I will inevitably need him again. Not only did Mike's (I'm PRETTY sure his name is Mike) visit fix the electrical issue I created myself, he made me laugh and saved me HUGE. I was playfully mocked for working at home in my pajamas and for making a stupid DIY mistake. He also understood immediately that I attempted to upgrade my outlets and switches in my house built in 1968 to save some cash, so he assessed the issue, fixed it, and actually TAUGHT me how to do it correctly so he wouldn't have to charge me for more than the initial 1st hour flat rate. YES! I originally called Dodge to get an estimate. Preston came out himself and took more than thirty minutes to explain all the options to me. Even though we decided not to do the work, I was so impressed with his patience and honesty that when we had an urgent electrical issue, Dodge was my first call. We had several 240 outlets that were wired incorrectly. One arched and while it didn't catch fire, the melted outlet and charred dryer plug were very concerning. We had also gotten an error code on the oven that it was not getting proper current. Jordan at Dodge was able to get someone out with in 24 hours to checkout both issues and repair the dryer the same day. The technicians were concerned enough about the oven to recommend leaving the breaker off until the work was completed two days later. Overall I was impressed with the prompt, knowledgeable, and professional service at a fair price. I would not hesitate to call Dodge for any future electrical problems. read more

Had Dodge electric come out to rewire a switch and garbage disposal. Making an appointment was easy. Ed was the technician. He gave me a call about 30 minutes before the service window to confirm the appointment. He was on time, friendly, and professional. I can only give Dodge electric four stars at this time because they ended up not being able to complete the work requested and I didn't get to experience any electrical service. Our house was built in 1958 and it would not have been practical to do what we wanted to do given the current construction of the exterior wall. Highly recommended and we will absolutely use again! My wife and I wanted to add some LIGHT to our great room and some SOUND to our patio. After a little research with yelp, I decided on Dodge Electric. Why? Because Mike, the project manager, responded to my email within 24 hours. Others didn't respond at all or were a week later (after I had already secured Dodge). Of course, the initial request for a quote went out as a result of high reviews on yelp. All via email (my preference), Mike and I decided on a date for Dodge Electric to come out and take a look at our home and give us a quote. Preston arrived on time and asked great questions and made fantastic suggestions in regards to what we wanted. While we had a "wishlist" of what we might get done (dependent on the price of each mini-project), we decided to price out adding can lights to our great room, speakers to our patio, a speaker outlet for our backyard, can lights for the master bedroom, a light over the master shower (per Preston's recommendation, one that can handle the moisture and doesn't give off creepy, unnatural light) as well as two 'Christmas Outlets' on both sides of our house. In the end, we just chose to light up our Great Room and bring sound to our patio and add an outlet for future speakers in the yard. The estimate came in at nearly what we expected. We had a quote from a contractor which we thought was a bit outrageous - Dodge Electric's quote was within what we originally might have expected. Everything, again, was handled via email. The quote was sent in PDF form, we signed it on our iPad and sent back the work request to Mike, who then emailed back to confirm a date for install. On the installation day, the two electricians, Francisco and Roger, arrived within the time window Mike had provided. We confirmed the work we were having done. One snafu: they were going to install dimmer switches that didn't match what we already had. During the initial appointment, Preston had taken pictures of what we already had so they matched. No problem for Roger, he said he'd just run and grab the ones that matched! No push back or anything from Roger, just a "no problem," essentially. Roger and Francisco went right to work after finalizing locations of our can lights and speakers as well as the new switches. All-in-all, it took about five hours to complete the work, which was less than expected. They cleaned up after themselves for the most part, were nice to talk to and always wanted to make sure things looked good and we approved. Such a relief to hire a service that cares about customer satisfaction. They've created a raving fan. We will highly recommend them to friends, family and coworkers without hesitation. read more

Had them out a week ago as I could not figure out the darn wiring on the new ceiling fan I installed. Ended up being the remote was bad but it had me at a loss. And while here, had them look at another small project , adding a recessed light and fan in a bathroom. I called Dodge Electric to come and give me a quote to add 3 new circuits to my breaker box as whoever wired my breakers prior to the purchase of my home didn't know what they were doing and was advised through my home warranty that they do not cover electrical failures due to overload and that this was what was needed to correct the problems I was experiencing. Dodge Electric has a ton of excellent reviews and so I was excited to work with them. I called them on a Friday (prior to New Years) and got the appointment for someone to come out and look (no fee) on Tuesday. Great! So far so good considering the holiday weekend. My disappointment is in the person who came out and looked at everything was asking questions like "well which appliances would you want on this circuit" and "what do you want me to put on this circuit". I'm I have zero clue what needs to be where and that's why I called you guys! Isn't that YOUR JOB to know what is needed to properly wire a house? Lastly I was advised that no estimate could be given to me right then but that I'd be receiving an email shortly. Well I finally received an email the next business day to let me know it was still going to take them 3 more business days for me to receive my quote. I also had a second company, Simple Electric, come out Tuesday as well. Not only did they know the exact issue. They new what exactly needed to be done and didn't have to ask me how they should wire my circuits. I also received a quote before they left and a follow email in 2 hours confirming my quote along with an option to accept it if I so chose. I did chose them after COB on Tuesday since I still hadn't heard anything from Dodge. I also received an unexpected call back from Simple Electric giving me an exact appointment time for when the guy will be back out to complete the work. We've had an issue for the past decade with our master bedroom electrical. Every time we'd plug in a vacuum, drill, hair dryer, or something else that requires a bit of power the lights would dim or, more often, the breaker would trip. After years of frustration, I was finally ready to have an electrician look at it. After doing my research I opted to call Dodge Electric, and in the end I'm very happy I did. Before coming to our house Mike Storer, one of their electricians, called to discuss what was going on. He asked a lot of questions to try to diagnose the cause of our issues. After spending a good 15+ minutes on the phone with me, Mike explained what was going on and--get this--told me how to fix it myself so that I didn't have to spend $170 for them to fix it. Now there aren't many other companies out there these days that are willing to forego making a profit and instead put the customer's best interest first. Dodge Electric is definitely one of the few remaining honest companies, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for an electrician. read more

Called for service, explained that my A/C blew up and caused part of my house to be without power. They said they could come out the next day to check and get started. Well, that was yesterday and still no return call from them to tell me the time. I since had to call another company who set me up right then and there with a time and date to come out. Typically this wouldn't be a big deal but it's just poor business practice to leave a customer hanging, and in my case delaying my ability to function properly due to no power in most of my house. Save time- call another company. They did contact me to apologize and explained it's not a typical business practice, so this could have been an isolated experience. read more

We had a problem with a kitchen outlet that the technician from Dodge was able to quickly diagnose and fix. I found Dodge here on Yelp and called around noon. My phone call was returned promptly and a technician arrived later in the afternoon. He found a bad connection in one of our outlets and replaced our GFCI outlet. I felt the price was very reasonable. Electric work is something I wish I could do myself, but I know my limitations. That's just stuff that needs to be done right. I was impressed with the work I would definitely use Dodge again if we have an electrical problem. read more
