We attended a wedding here last night and we thought it was an exceptional venue and very well organized. Something to keep in mind- the terrain is challenging for stilettos, old people, and toddlers. You should expect this when you see it's a barn venue, but some wedding barns have redone flooring. My fiancée and I had the unfortunate timing of a wedding date set during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our County was ordered to shelter-in-place and had a gathering maximum mandate in the months and days leading up to and including the date of our wedding at Dodson Orchards. While this was no fault of ours or theirs, they became incredibly inflexible on rescheduling dates and shunned the idea of a refund. They raised our rates for rescheduling and only offered non-premium make up dates. Steve Dodson even tried to persuade us to disregard our County stay at home orders and host the wedding anyway, citing that Madison County was not following the same orders as other Counties and that "everything was going to go away as soon as everyone was given Quinine." They told us they were doing us a favor by even offering a make up date despite a global pandemic. That was in February 2020. As I write this review, my fiancée and I have lost friends and family to Covid-19 and for the sake of our elderly and at-risk, decided not to have our wedding as planned. The Dodson's have refused our attempts at trying to reach an amicable resolution or cancellation due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding all of this. Once they had our money in hand their true colors came to light. Best of luck to anyone out there considering working with this venue. read more

The venue is beautiful, gorgeous, and everything you could possibly want in your venue choice! The food was exceptionally tasty, not a single regret in our menu items of brisket, smoked gouda covered chicken, broccoli, ancho chili covered corn, and mashed potatoes. So YUMMY. The barn was PERFECTLY decorated, and I do mean PERFECTLY. Jen had heard every tiny detail I gave and implemented it beautifully. The bridal room is well lit, adorable yet quaint, and very functional! As is the groom's room. Jen and Steven were great to work with, easy and flexible to deal with on all fronts. The only reason I didn't give five stars wasn't because of the venue (it's perfect), the food (it's delicious), or the friendly staff... My only upset was that we had paid for 60 people to eat; yet we only had 38 total guests. Therefore, we should've had plenty of meat for guests, but as they went back for seconds (as the staff said they could); they claimed to be completely out of meat for our guests. We were confused because we had paid for so many more people, yet were out of food with almost a 1/3 of our guests not in attendance. And the only other small detail was that the staff was very swift to remove the plates from our settings. We were given another plate of food and when we came back for it, it had already been taken (as well as my dessert plate I didn't even get a chance to touch). A golden rule is to always leave the head table's food for very last. Or ask; because we weren't able to eat enough and were starving at the end of the day! Those may seem like bigger qualms, but truly the day was still remarkable and although a few things seemed to go south- we had a beautiful day and the photos will be impeccable. read more

My wedding was May 9, 2015 and we had our ceremony and reception in the barn at Dodson Orchards. Jen Dodson did an amazing job setting up the barn to create a magical space. Steve Dodson made food to die for - the brisket and chicken with gouda were absolutely delightful! My husband and I only looked at this one venue, but I have zero reservations about our choice. I cannot recommend any other venue for any even more than I recommend Dodson Orchards. Look at their pictures on Facebook and see what they've done. Trust me, I wouldn't have driven an hour and a half if not for seeing how they could complete other couples' visions for their special days! read more
