They had decent service and good, filling meals along with a salsa bar. (See my review). I recommend the food there. The main house was very nice and decorated for Halloween. My buddy and I got a room in the bunkhouse. It seemed like hotel room prices for a couple of old beds in an aged, makeshift room in a barn. The bathroom was upstairs. It was a bit small but workable. We paid extra for the breakfast. There was a lot of variety and I ate my fill but the food seemed bland tasting. Also, the person who rang us up at the bunkhouse kept pressuring us to stay another night. We hiked that area and moved on.

It's a special place place rooted deep within the long distance hiking community. The hostels amenities are very simple. Bunks, wood stove, showers, laundry, free shuttle, kitchen. It's perfect for hikers. And anyone who meets Bob will tell you he is the salt of the earth.

Kincora is a hostel for AT hikers that only asks for a $5 donation if you're short on cash, however…read morewe loved the generosity from Bob Peoples and his helpers so much that we donated $20/person, especially when we herd that some hikers had been stealing money from his donation box, how disappointing and what a shame! Bob Peoples has got to be one of the friendliest members of the AT society I have met yet. He was extremely cheerful and loves to laugh and joke with everyone. At his hostel you can bunk, or if you're a couple and there aren't many hikers staying the night you arrive, he will let you stay in one of his private cabins (one is a tree house). You are also able to shower and do laundry during your stay, and they will also shuttle the group into town. We had a medical problem, so Bob made a special trip into town just for us. It is not the cleanest, newest hostel we've been to, however none thus far have been. It was the atmosphere that made it incredible. I just hope hikers don't take advantage of this gem and they give back to his cause. We had such an amazing experience at this hostel!

Tiny house (Guest House) is a perfect little spot in downtown Asheville for a get away. I have…read morestayed at Tiny House several times and have never been disappointed. The Space: -Is small! Hence in the name. But it is perfect for one or two people who do not plan to spend much time there. It has a mini-fridge and microwave. There is no furniture other then the full-size bed. The small sectioned off bathroom is good in size but there is no door into this section of the room. Linens are always clean on arrival. Note: There is no television but has great WiFi. You also have your own private entrance so no need to bother any one else. -You also get access to inside the hostel and amenities in the main house. The Location: -PERFECT! It is walking distance to all of downtown. Steps away from several breweries. Other: -BJ, the owner, is always pleasant to talk to and very helpful. He will message you the day of arrival to confirm time and answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend this rental!

This time, we had a room off the kitchen. Even given the fairly central location in the house, our stay was quiet and comfortable; It was in the middle of summer, so air conditioning units may have blocked out some potential noise, but overall there was no kitchen-noise to deal with that we noticed. Again, the hostel was clean, felt safe, and was overall a great place to stay. This is an awesome location near to lots of restaurants and bars, and lends to easily walking anywhere in downtown Asheville within 15-20 minutes max.
