Groomer was unable to use a hair dryer on our pup...he became scared probably because of the loud noise. He was put in a cage with fans blowing on him for an unknown length of time. It could have just been an issue with the groomer, but our pup seemed stressed out by the fan.. Perhaps using a hair dryer on a low speed or buying a quieter hair dryer would have prevented this issue. read more

We took our golden doodle puppy in for his first haircut at about five months old, and we were a little bit nervous going in because we loved his fluffy puppy hair so much. That said though, it was more than time for him to get a trim, and the weather has been warming up so he was getting a little overheated. My fur babies Oscar and Barbie have been going to Melonie for baths and grooming since she was in Martinez! Long time clients! Barbie is a poo-mix who needs a groom every month. She practically looks homeless by that time. I can't say that either of them look forward to being groomed, but once they're there, they are relaxed and enjoy having a spa day. It is clear to me that Barbie has come to feel safe with Melonie. I appreciate that they get an opportunity to socialize when they are there, and aren't locked up in a cage. In a nutshell, Melonie and her staff have earned my trust. I know that they feel loved and cared for at CCG. My dogs are precious to me, and I wouldn't leave them with just any one. read more

We have been using CCG for years, and we LOVE the fact that Maya, our 15 lbs Havanese can run freely and play with the other dogs compared to be locked up inside a cage, kicking and screaming for hours! We've been bringing our goldendoodle to Comfort Corner for all of his grooming appointments since we got him earlier this year, and I couldn't be happier! We were actually recommended to come here by another groomer that didn't accept doodles. I love the fact that they offer a "puppy package". I felt super comfortable leaving my puppy with them for his first grooming experience because they assured me they would give him breaks when needed and make sure he felt comfortable. For all of his subsequent appointments, I've been so happy with how he looks. And he always seems to be happy when I pick him up! I like that he isn't kept in a crate while he waits and instead gets to play (I have no problem with crates and he is crate trained, but he's a bit too big for most crates so I prefer him to have more space when possible). The price feels reasonable for a full groom, especially because doodles can be a lot of work. Overall I'd highly recommend Comfort Corner! read more

My dog has been coming to Comfort Corner for over a year now, so I wanted to update my review. Not a lot has changed - I am still extremely happy with the quality of her groom every time I go back to pick her up. Pricing is consistent and fair. One thing I really want to touch on is the sedation my dog required before coming to Comfort Corner. For over 5 years, she got a cc of Ace to go to the groomer, and this was just her routine. After Melonie told me that she did not think the Ace was necessary, I started taking my dog without any sedation and she did just fine. She has now been going without sedation for over a year. She does not tolerate the blow dryer, but they are happy to accommodate her and just let her air dry. I cannot even express how much it means to me that they are willing to work around her groomer issues and it is wonderful to not need sedation any longer. Comfort Corner has definitely earned my business as long as I live in this area. read more

I was disappointed. When I called for the appointment the woman I spoke to could not answer my questions which were what the cost would be for a bath (I gave their weight and breed), she said I would have to ask the groomer. I asked how long they might be there and was told 4 or 5 hours. This is touch go for me as I have a 15 year old dog who I don't like to have stressed. We get there and no one explained to me that all the dogs are roaming around the grooming area. When I explain my older boy does not do well with other dogs she gave me the look that I had inconvenienced them. Only that he would have to be caged. The way she sounded it was going to be far worse than the room of dogs. We took him home as I will not do that to our beloved dog. I almost took our other dog too but she really needed a bath. It was 4 hours. Yes she looks wonderful and clean but we will not go back. It felt too chaotic with too many dogs roaming around. read more

Comfort Corners is a wonderful place to take your furbabies. I've been coming here for years with my 3 doggies - (2 labradoodles and 1 maltese) and I've always been happy. These babies are my family and I would never take them to a place I couldn't trust implicitly. There are lots of groomers in the Bay Area -- but no one is like Comfort Corners. They love doggies and you can tell , just by the care and love that they give to your doggies when they are there. If I could give 6 stars I would. For my very first visit to Comfort Corner Grooming, I was very pleased about the results of the grooming of my Sealyham Terrier. Both my dog and I came out happy campers! My Sealyham is not stripped which results in a deep downy hair, which ends up a nest of tangles. They managed to remove those issues especially around his legs, underbelly, and neck. Even after a week, he looks fantastic! The clipping around his face, feet, legs and body were done just the way I requested and even better. I gave a warning that my little guy has a sensitivity to grooming especially to his nails, but they managed to take down some of it which was the conservative approach I appreciate. Plus the challenge of being near large dogs doesn't make it easy for the groomers, so having a happy dog at the end of the session was a great surprise. It is grand central station in there, busy busy. Under the madness of the grooming equipment and barking dogs, there is experience and thought. It is worth my drive to come here! read more

I'm really happy I found this place. I've brought my pit in here twice now, and they've done a great job each time. All the groomers here are really nice, they work fast, and know how to handle big dogs with care. My dog, always comes out smelling great, and his coat feels soft and smooth. The only concern I have, and it's a small one, is the mesh gate between the groomers and customer area, as the mesh design doesn't seem very paw friendly. I have been taking my terrier mix to Comfort Corner for 4 years now. My dog, Jojo, is a rescue who was abused before arriving at ARF for adoption. He was terrified of everything, grooming especially. I was told that Melonie was great with rescues and has that been true! I take Jojo to Comfort Corner every two weeks for a bath & blow out. He always looks fabulous when I get him. Plus he also is no longer fearful when I drop him off, which is a reflection of how he is treated there. He runs right in and finds his spot, playing with the other dogs waiting their turn. Grooming and free socialization/play time in the same visit! Thanks to Melonie and the entire CCG staff for taking such good care of my shy little Jojo :-) I just have to add, the idea that dogs get fleas at this place is crazy (another reviewer).
