Purrfect Pet Sitting - Monica (owner) with her cat, Tucker

I decided to hire a pet sitter, and I did some research before finding Monica and Purrfect Pet Sitting. I've never hired a pet sitter before, and it was a stretch for me to hand a stranger my keys and trust them with my fur babies, but I had no choice. After having Monica take care of them for just a few days, I knew I had made a good decision. Monica has cared for Wendigo and Banzuke as though she were family. She sent me texts every day with pictures to update me on their status. I was overjoyed when she told me that Wendigo actually "took" to her... Wendigo never even let my own family come near her, but Monica is a cat whisperer, because even in this stressful situation she let Monica pet her and she didn't hide from her. Monica also changed their litter when it needed it, and she followed my meticulous instructions for the diet and feeding for each of the cats. What amazed me most about her is that she has been so flexible and accommodating. I had to extend my trip and Monica has worked with me through all the changes. She even brought extra cooked chicken for Wendigo when mine ran out. As a new resident and a first time street-parker, I didn't realize you had to move your car so much in Saint Paul. Monica alerted me to signs that had been posted by parking enforcement, and bent over backwards to help me make sure my car was ok. When I returned home, I found that Monica didn't just take excellent care of my babies, she took care of my home. She washed dishes she used. She kept things in order. There wasn't any trash to be found. My kitties were happy and healthy! I feel so blessed and lucky to have found someone so professional and caring for my little cat family. It has been such a relief to have one - rather two! - less things to worry about. I feel so grateful to have had Monica there ensuring all is well at home. Thank you, Monica, for your huge heart and top-notch service!

I…read morewas going out of town for two weeks and sought their services for my relatively easy cats. This was a terrible mistake. One of the owners and his nephew, who would be the primary sitter, came over to meet my cats and get instructions. I could tell immediately that neither of these people seemed friendly toward my cats, let alone taking an interest in them, but I looked past it because I was in a bind and needed a sitter on short notice. The primary sitter, the owner's nephew, is a college-aged kid who knows little about pet care. While I was gone, he was scooping cat waste from the litter box, but not adding more litter. Cat care 101: this is inadequate. I came home to find a nearly bear litter box and that my cat had pooped on the floor twice. He would only do this if the litter box was very unclean. The kid refused to clean the poop off the floor, so I had to do this myself when I returned home from a long flight. Honestly, the worst part, even worse than the fact that my cats were left in such poor conditions, is that when I called the owner, he immediately defended his nephew without question, saying that he'd only received positive reports about my pets. Of course this kid wasn't going to tell his uncle/boss that he'd been overlooking a significant portion of his responsibilities! The owner kept repeating that the cats had been "fed and watered" without issue, so that should be enough. If you hired a babysitter for a child who fed and bathed the child but neglected to change their diaper, would this be adequate? Of course not. The owner initially offered me $20 off their higher-than-average prices. This is absurd. My cats were left in squalor in a terrible litter box situation and I came home to poop on the floor that I had to clean up myself. If he'd been apologetic in the slightest or admitted to his nephew's mistakes, this would've gone a long way toward repairing trust that has been damaged. He also tried to blame it on the fact that I hadn't pre-paid for my appointments -- I'm certainly glad I didn't, because they would've taken my money and run without caring for my cats properly! Clearly, these people do not enjoy or care about animals and are ill-equipped to look after them. Please find someone else to look after your pets if you care about them! I can't say enough wonderful things about her service! Tabatha emailed us a note plus photos of our dogs each day she was at our house for pet visits. She also leaves you handwritten progress notes at your house on how your dog(s) did the day she was there. It was nice to be on the road for work yet be able to see that my dogs were such well-taken care of. Tabatha treats your pets like she would her own animals. I recommend Tabatha so highly that my dog groomer is actually going to pass out Rock Star Dog Walking & Pet Sitting business cards to her customers. As a registered nurse, I highly recommend Rock Star Dog Walking and Pet Sitting to anyone needing pet caretaker services.
