The rooms are large and expansive with room for you to spread…read moreout and be comfortable, fresh and free coffee and tea 24/7 and breakfast and parking included. The location is wonderful bc it's only 20 minutes from the West Glacier park entrance and tons of nearby hiking as well as the towns of Whitefish and Kalispell which have tons of shopping, dining, and adventure in winter and summer. It's also close to some things in the smaller town of Columbia where it is located like Montana Coffee Traders which you can actually just walk to from the hotel and Cowgirl coffee. There are also gas stations and other shops nearby if you need a few things. The gal at check-in was amazing and kind and had our room ready for us with my third floor request checked in despite our super late check-in (11pm) and they were always happy and greeted us kindly when we came and went. There is a small (2 washers and 2 dryers) laundry room on the 2nd floor where you can wash your clothes. They're old and only have like 2 settings but if your things are funky after long hikes like ours, it's a lifesaver. They sell detergent and dryer sheets in a pack for $2 at the lobby. Prices are extremely fair for this nearby location to the park and for the amenities provided and size of the room. Note: I took a star away bc we stayed four days and they absolutely refused to do a room refresh. At day two I asked to have towels and trash taken care of and was told that we could put the trash outside the room and they would leave fresh towels in a shopping bag by our door. What?! I've been traveling a lot and they're milking the COVID thing for all it is worth. 4 days in a hotel is a long time to have no cleaning whatsoever. I understand every other day, or upon request, but that was a bit much and I didn't like it. Hire the staff, go back to cleaning rooms. We spent two weeks on this trip and this was the only hotel that pulled this crap.

The bathroom was amazing Someone FINALLY got it right Toilet paper in the right spot . Didn't have to throw my back out teaching for it. The shower was nice size with everything you need right at your finger tips. Even the bath mat was great. No throwing a towel on the floor. All the small things you take for granted were addressed. Great job Ill be back !

Booking a room here in peak season requires being online at midnight a year in advance or great…read moreluck. But it was worth it; especially with the 2025 construction, it's the best way to get to this part of the park, which is itself a highlight. I love the huge lobby, which has tons of space and seating to eat snacks, play a game, or whatever while looking out the huge windows over the lake. And often a random guest is playing a song on the piano. Our "Value Room" was comfortable and had everything you need. Service was great at the front desk and bell staff. There's a talk every evening; the nights we were there were a native storyteller and a ranger presentation on birds; very different, but both great, and something not many national park lodges offer.

The view is amazing…read more But the rooms are not the best. If you wake up easily you need earplugs or sleep with the fan on in your ear. There is only two restaurants so the wait time can be awhile and the food is okay. But the views were amazing.

For the 4 of us, this was a completely unplanned stop on our last minute drive up to Polebridge,…read morebut the next time I am up in this area (and I will be back), I am definitely stopping back here. Their drinks were delicious and used mostly local Minnesota ingredients As an Arizona native, I can say their nachos stacked up with some of the best. The burgers were great size with super fresh toppings. The fries were some of the best I ever had- perfectly crisp exterior with delightfully fluffy interior and were seasoned to the max without being over-salted. The homemade pickles were mild and still crisp, and even my pickle hater friends enjoyed theirs. To end everything off, we ordered a whole huckleberry-peach pie. They don't sell whole pies typically so they offered us one of their pie baking tins if we were to bring it back. Sadly, we won't be in town past the morning, so we had to decline, but they boxed up our pie in pieces and we left on our merry way. We definitely could have taken them up on their offer for the tin though as we have already eaten the whole pie and would gladly drive back to drop it off and get some more!

It's walking distance from a vibrant downtown with very nice locally owned shops and restaurants. The owners of the inn are so welcoming, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable! We felt so at home in this cozy, lovely decorated and comfortable b 'n b! The breakfasts, prepared by one of the owners (a chef!) in their own kitchen, are absolutely scrumptious and gorgeously presented. We departed wishing we could have stayed even longer. It is perfectly located just next to the lovely small town. Chris made sure we were comfortable, checked in with us morning and evening, and gave us suggestions on places to go, what to know from a local perspective and how best to get there. He is so knowledgeable about the history, culture, terrain and everything you need to know. The accommodations were comfortable, with a large closet to put all our stuff. We could not believe the French press coffee brought to our room each morning at the time of our choosing (really?!!) and then the local offerings for breakfast!! A glass of wine in the evening if you choose. The comfort and the pleasure is all right there. And I am a fussy sleeper/traveler... this was true fun. Just beautiful up there!

Great hotel in downtown Whitefish!…read more I was in town for business and stayed 1 night at the Firebrand and had a great time! I confirmed my airport shuttle the day before with Shannon over the phone. She was kind and very informative regarding the area and how to make the most of my time there. I didn't rent a car so I loved that the Free SNOW bus was running and hopped on it to do some sightseeing at the top of the mountain. After I was finished exploring, I checked out the beautiful rooftop and hot tub.... Really nice views! And luckily there were lots of dinner options nearby also! The bed was comfy, the shower was great, and the room was quiet. The Nespresso machine pumped out a good cup of coffee in the morning, which I appreciated. Overall, really enjoyed my stay here and would love the opportunity to stay again. If you're looking for good accommodations in the downtown Whitefish area, I'd highly recommend giving the Firebrand a try! Happy Travels!

Firebrand - downtown Whitefish…read more I stayed here 6 days at the end of August. I'll start with "the good." The hotel is in a perfect location if you enjoy walking to restaurants and shops. Firebrand had an excellent breakfast. There was usually a wait for the food to arrive after ordering but it was worth it. Happy hour was also very nice. Great prices - tasty apps. The servers at both breakfast and dinner were delightful. The upstairs, outdoor area was beautiful and tranquil. The hotel was decorated in a lodge theme, which was, obviously, on point, very interesting and beautiful. Unfortunately the sofa in front of the fireplace had two long slits in the cushions. Management should definitely take time to have that repaired. It's uncomfortable and unsightly. I guess we're sliding toward "the bad." Our first night we got little sleep. Normally I don't comment on loud guests, etc. That usually has little to do with the hotel. Apparently a room across the hall had music playing loudly, which we could not hear. Another room complained to the front desk. The front desk sent an employee to request the music be turned down. There was apparently no response from the guests in the room. The employee continued to bang and beat on the door for a very long time- then said employee went outside to banged on the windows. That did not wake the guests. So the employee came back in and banged on the door more. This went on for a what seemed like an eternity. Next, our room was not clean. I can honestly say it was dirty. Everyday there would be young men (I think the hotel had an exchange program where university students in other countries could come and live / work in the US for the summer) in the hallways, blowing up cleaning gloves and hitting them to each other as a game. Even though we were not in our room, and did not have a do not disturb sign on the door, our room did not get cleaned. We finally figured it out. If they waited until we returned to the room to rest before dinner; we would just request towels. Then they could forgo the cleaning. (On our 6 day trip, our room was made up once.) The last zinger (which I brought to the attention of the very nice front desk person, Shannon) was the door hanger for do not disturb, which said, "Busy." It was a view from outside a keyhole spying in on a woman. This is totally inappropriate. Are you promoting the stalking of women? Do you think they should be spied on and unsafe in hotel rooms? This is total tone deaf in a culture where woman should feel safe traveling alone and whose safety should not be joked about. Whitefish was delightful. I do not think I'd stay at this Firebrand Hotel again because there would be no way to assure these negatives had been addressed.

Went to six motels/lodges on our trip. Two received five star ratings: this was one of them…read more Motel is very basic (and old). Bed and bathroom. Some units are larger and have a kitchenette. To be warned this place is dated. But it is unpretentious, cheapest place we stayed at, clean (which you would be surprised at is apparently optional in the Rockies), and has the best view we had in the trip. We stayed at four other water front motels. This had the best view. Sunrise and sunset were extraordinary. Chairs provided in front of the room to enjoy the lake. Very elderly and family friendly. Only guests can use this part of the lakefront. If you have have modern this is not the place for you. For everyone airplane.else this is for you. Get first floor unit not second, the view is better.

Didn't get the same…read morefriendly experience from the staff (as Frank did) but perhaps that was because we weren't hotel guests. Great modern vibes, beautifully kept property in the heart of Whitefish. We typically stay at The Lodge, Firebrand or a condos on Baker or Central. We'll definitely try a stay at Larch House for our next visit.
