Moe was fairly friendly and communicative at first, but when I arrived I was not allowed inside to see the set-up where my cat would be staying. I knew she wouldn't have a lot of space, but from the one blurry picture I received during her stay, she was sleeping and eating right next to her litter box in the small cage. When I picked her up, I found out that she had lost half a pound (and she was already underweight), and had an eye and upper respiratory infection that she probably picked up from another cat there which had to be treated with medication. She also smelled bad and had to be bathed right away. I brought a cat bed with her, which was in her cage, and when I picked her up there was uncleaned vomit on the bed. I would never take my cat here again. I don't think she properly received her medication every day either but that is just my suspicion. I am disappointment in the lack of care and concern for her health and the cleanliness of her environment. That being said, it is the cheapest boarding option I could find, and my cat is old and more susceptible to infections. A younger cat would probably be fine boarding here for a weekend maybe, but I wouldn't do any longer than that.

Moe had great communication, a flexible schedule for drop off and pick up, reasonable rates, and electronic payment options. On both trips, the cats came back in one piece, clean, and emotionally well-adjusted. On one trip, one of our eye-goopy cats even came back cleaner than when we left him. Although we've moved out of the area, I'd definitely recommend Moe to anyone who needs boarding.

This park is what you wish you had for a backyard, and probably do if you live outside the bay area. It's plenty of land to run, run, run, with some rolling landscape to make it a bit more interesting. You can see from one end to the other, but it's waaaaaaay over there. I love that they carved out this strip of land right next to the freeway...the soft lull/roar of the freeway can be heard, but it's not distracting or too loud at all. There isn't separation between small and large dogs...it's up to owners to figure out whether it's a good fit. My 67- and 53-lb dogs had some fun with a little dog today that looked to be about 15 lbs. In fact, the bigger one needs to shed a little pandemic weight (like her mom) and I think running around with those hecka fast little ones is just the ticket. I'll possibly give it 5 stars if I return a couple of times and all is still well. And yes...gopher holes are there. That just gave them something else to do...sticking their snuffles into the holes to sniff around. The gophers are too smart for them, though.

Some days there may be lots of big rambunctious dogs, along with some cute little woofers; but most of the time when I stop it's just us. The park is alway pretty empty which is good, because my dogs tend to be a little timid and antisocial. It's so peaceful and relaxing when it's just us. The park provides poopy bags. I think most people just bring their own though and leave them, I do sometimes for whoever may have forgotten their own. Whatever the case we practice on keeping it very clean by picking up our pets waste. As for parking it's usually some street parking always near....one more thing on the side gate of the park there is a fence with lots of cactus and sweet fruits I like to enjoys every so often also.

The new groomer's response was to give us attitude. Our dog is a long-haired Bernedoodle. From the start, the groomer pushed for a summer shave, which we declined, consistent with every previous appointment we'd had. He then said that without clippers, he'd need to charge more, we agreed to that without hesitation. What we did not agree to was a shave. That's exactly what happened. To make it worse, they left his face with long hair, so the cut wasn't even consistent. And then my wife was charged an extra $100 for dematting, on a dog that had just been shaved! Let that sink in. Shaving a dog without the owner's explicit consent is not acceptable. Period. I had to go back and complain before they refunded the charge If you're a returning customer expecting the same quality and care as before, be aware that the previous groomers are no longer there. It shows.

We had the Princess with us and as we were leaving mapped out the nearest dog park. Lo and behold, it was right next door! It's not a huge park but there's enough room to throw a ball and run around in. Parking is one the rocks right in front of the gate on Main Street. I suppose you could also park in the Ferry Terminal parking lot although I'm not sure if that's okay or not. There are two entrances to the park. The main entrance on Main Street has a dual gate entrance while the entrance on the Ferry Terminal side is a single gate. Dual gates are my preference because it adds a layer of safety should one gate accidentally not latch properly. We found a couple of dog toys and there were several bowls with water. There were also numerous gallon jugs with water in them. There is no water fountain nor restroom onsite, so it appears that other pet parents are taking empty jugs and filling them. The encampments and motorhomes that other wrote about in 2022 and 2023 are no longer there, so the area feels relatively safe.

Biggest problem is that it is difficult to get to assuming your not living nearby. Alameda is such a drag to drive around in - I'd say its almost as bad as downtown San Francisco in terms of driving 1 mile will cost you 12 minutes. Lots of stop signs and tiny narrow streets. Crowded feeling. Your dog will love it. If he is cooped up in a tiny apartment there is space to run. Also important for your dog to socialize and do some flea swapping with the next dog. They love that.
