    Hot Honey chicken Bacon Sandwich

Back again & couldn't pass Dog Daze without stopping for lunch. Today we tried the Hot Honey Bacon Chicken Sandwich & the Shrimp Corn Chowder - absolutely outstanding, cooked to order & delicious! We can never eat here w/o the fries as they are the best anywhere! It was chilly so before we left we ordered some mini churros & warm apple cider - WOW! The dulce de Leche dip for the churros an excellent touch! The best lunch stop in CT - don't pass on Rt7 w/o stopping in for a delicious, affordable meal with the friendliest owners!

Born and raised in Chicago, I'm extremely critical of "hot dog stands" especially if they don't serve the almighty Vienna Beef products. Dog Daze has turned me around - love the griddled bun, the seasoned tasty coating on the onion rings and the CORN DOG (salivating at the memory) - devoured so quickly a photo could not be taken. It was a bit tricky to get in and out due to the location and the road traffic made me a bit skittish but that's not their fault. Love the seating areas they set up outside - will be back when it's nicer out to enjoy!

Wilton Dog - Melted Cheese, Bacon, and Onions with Hand Cut French Fries

I enjoyed Dog Daze. I had a hot dog with spicy mustard, my fiancé had the Wilton dog which had melted cheese, onions, and bacon. Then we shared the hand cut french fries. Im never sure whether to start with the semi bad or the good. I guess its better to end with the good. The only two semi bad things were the hot dogs were small and the order took too long to get to us. Now the good things the hot dogs were cooked nicely with a toasted bun. The bacon that went on the Wilton dog was crispy. The french fries were da bomb definitely homemade. I also liked that all the tables their were signs saying no dogs allowed. While I love seeing a dog at a park. I dont want one roaming around while Im eating lunch. Dog owners seem to be oblivious but just because I say cute dog doesn't mean I want your dog under my table, rubbing against me or licking me.

Beautiful summer day drive down Route 7 near Wilton CT, passed the DD Cafe and decided to get a lunch snack. Plenty of sit-down restaurants to grab a sandwich or meal along the way, but the hot dog stand was calling me! No frills, order a 'dog' specialty at the window, and sit at one of their picnic tables or stool by the shack to enjoy their eats. EZ on the wallet, cost averages ~$10pp or less. Hot Dogs are ~$4-6, and then add a side of fries (think fresh cut and they looked fantastic) or drinks if desired. I got a Chicago Dog and a Chili Dog. Hot dogs were grilled fresh, served on a grilled/toasted bun with toppings. Chicago had mustard, pickles, diced onions, sliced tomatoes and jalapeños. Chili was bean-less, and then added fresh diced onion and mustard. Both were very tasty but my favorite was the Chicago Dog as it had a nice kick from the jalapeños, plus the toppings blended excellently! If you're a Hot Dog fan, check out DDC ... and also suggest to bring your favorite dog companion with you to enjoy the outdoor ambience. Enjoy!!

These in my opinion are the best dogs around. I stop here almost everytime I drive by for a hot dog and an a&w root beer. My go to is usually the chicago dog which is pictured below, but today I also tried the Wilton Dog (chili, cheese, onion, bacon) and it was so good I forgot to grab a photo lol Ps the onion rings are delicious

I really think the world would be a better place if there were more small-scale burger joints like Dog Daze in every small town. I really miss these little sorts of roadside stands that seemed ubiquitous in my youth but now take a little more searching to find. I think this little shack on the side of route 7 has been a few different things over the years, but the most recent one really deserves your attention. Admittedly, i've driven by this place a lot, and never had time to make a stop, but nothing made me feel guiltier than finally stopping by and discovering how good it is. Having been there once, i didn't sample much of the menu, but i'll tell you one thing: this place knows how to grill a hot dog. I didn't ask what kind they use, but it was perfectly charred, with that little bit of crispiness without drying it out or affecting the taste. The fries were also great, i mostly ordered them out of curiosity but didn't expect to eat them all. I ended up finishing the whole side before i could even get to the reuben dog (which uh....ruled, if you're catching on). If i had to dock this place for anything, it would be that parking is a little wonky. And doing that would be stupid, so five stars it is! Please give this place a shot, it really deserves to stick around and i can't wait to go back.

The story goes Martha Stewart pulled up so she could try a couple of the garnishes, liked what she tasted and invited Owner Mike to participate in a hot dog segment of her show. Today, Chez Lenard has a decades old cart on Main Street and two additional carts for catering or events. I ordered Le Hot Dog Choucroute Alsacienne (which has sauerkraut and a high quality Dijon Mustard) and Le Hot Dog Epicie Garniture Suisse (which boasts a traditional cheese fondue and a horseradish sauce). After a bit of research, these seemed like the most classic Chez Lenard toppings. The toppings were all very tasty. Chez Lenard uses Hebrew National dogs which are ready in a steam bath when you order. Among the best known and loved CTSpots, this is probably my least favorite combo of dog selection and cooking technique. There's no snap and it has one of the softer textures you'll find. I understand that one of the movable carts has a grill. The buns are Martin's potato rolls, which are fine. Chez Lenard enjoys an important history in Ridgefield. They've been a source of jobs for young adults. A lot of people have been going there for a long time because downtown Ridgefield is a cool place to visit. Somebody who lives closer to Ridgefield might give it a bit of a bump because it's been an important pat of their lives. Being a visitor, I can only go by the dog. 4.5 Stars for the toppings. 3.5 Stars for the dog itself. 4 Stars overall

This place is a family owned no frills type of hotdog stand. They have inside Dining and outside dining. You order at the counter and then grab a table and they bring it out to your table, this roadside spot has hotdog and empanadas and gyros so I'm not sure they know what kind of place they are yet they're trying a little bit of everything but the plus is they serve a Hummel hotdog? That's a long dog and they are very accommodating. I order the Chicago dog, which is their version of a Chicago dog. Give them an A for effort for doing the best they can with the ingredients that they Had. It's definitely not a traditional Chicago Dog, but it was tasty and they put effort into making it. The onion rings are homemade and battered. I prefer breaded but these were pretty good. staff is friendly. I don't know if I drive out of my way to go here, but if I was passing by

Definitely a no frills spot, but the girl behind the counter was nice and since we were eating in, she brought the food to our table and didn't have us pay until the end, which was sweet of her. My husband did the double dog, which came with chili, cheese, and bacon, and it satisfied his craving. I did a plain dog and a Texas dog minus the chili. Loved that they were footlongs! We also shared the Colombian empanadas, which were fine. Not bad for when you want a quick meal in Bethel.

My husband decided to try this place, as he loves hot dogs despite my warnings about food additives and blah blah. Well, this is a different kind of hot dog! Nothing to run for though. I got the Dixie dog $7 which was underwhelming the chili was mid at best and the slaw wasn't even average. The Hot dog had no bite despite being cooked on a griddle. The highlight was the Rhode Island clam chowder and it wasn't the greatest. Plenty of clams but very chewy. The broth was flavored but not exactly the best. This place used to be on Guy's Diner drive in and dives but it has fallen from those standards. Staff seem to have changed as well since those days. The cashier was amazing but that's were the amazement ends. Went in around 3 o'clock, food came out fast. A plus, but let down in quality. Guess some places can't hold the standards they started with.
