    Lake Zoar Drive-In!

It's a great local place to grab fresh made items and always a great choice for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner! Plenty of parking. Support Small Business.

We've been here THREE times in the last two weeks! It's not much to look at on the outside & if you were to drive by...your first thought may not be to stop. They could do with a bit of clean up or some fresh siding, although I'm sure some would argue it's part of the charm. For me, their burgers are pretty close to perfect. And that's saying A LOT for someone who is very picky about burger. All 3 visits I had the Jr. Zoar burger sans cheese. I asked for it to be well done- and they nailed it. The patty on the Jr. is fairly thin, again, that's how I like them! It's also great to have a burger place properly crisp the bacon! My only complaint is that the buns always seem to be a bit soggy, so the more "freshly made" you eat them- the better. My husband did a double Zoar burger & also tried the foot long hot dog. He really enjoyed both. We tried crinkle cut, steak & curly fries- all really good, although steak was our favorite. Both the onion rings & shoe-string onions were delicious as well, good flavor Prices are reasonable- each visit we paid less than $25. This is our new burger spot!

Fresh burgers, fresh sides... everything is made to your liking. The staff here is awesome, he owner is right on site and is very talkative with newcomers to the area (which he knew I was one). Locals and tourists alike dined in during my visit! I even got tips on how to properly hunt for metal while my food cooked :)

7$ chili dog. What an overpriced disappointment

I've stopped to eat at the lake zoar drive in about four times in the past two months and have been disappointed almost every time but this one was the worst. I used to go out of my way to eat here when I was younger and the food was amazing. I'm not sure what happened but it's not nearly as good it used to be.

Food sitting waiting for rest of order.

They have seating inside and outside, with Coca Cola soda machines and bottles both available. The cashier brought out my food, which is so hot the pan had a cover on the handle. Bread crumbs were recommended and enjoyed. It's still huge, even if you get a single portion. The one sad thing was for the dishes that included red sauce (looking at you, pizza mac), it was spaghetti. There was no cheese sauce mixed in, and I hate spaghetti in general. The ones with cheese sauce were fun and delicious. Not many people ate in, but there was a brisk take xout business.

The restaurant itself is located in a plaza with some other businesses, and honestly it doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is pretty plain as well, with little decor. But what they lack in flash, they make up for in delicious mac & cheese! Their menu has so many options it's almost overwhelming! In fact, I counted 25 different varieties of mac & cheese that they offer. Everything from traditional mac & cheese with bread crumbs, to mac ala vodka, to mac pizza, mac gumbo, mac sloppy joe, mac philly steak and cheese, and more! The female employee behind the counter was friendly, and listed off some of their more popular varieties to give me ideas. I went with the MacDaddy, their most popular dish, which has all the ingredients of a Big Mac (even down to the sesame seeds) served over mac & cheese. It was amazing!!! I also got the Mac Ranch, which had fried chicken, bacon, and ranch dressing. Also excellent! They have three sizes of skillets that you can order, the "snack" (small), "mac" (medium), and "macdaddy" (large). I got the snack size for both, and even just one was more than enough to fill me up! Overall, an excellent mac & cheese spot that you can go back to multiple times and not get the same thing twice. I would definitely recommend!

Nothing much has changed... it is still cash or check, which back in 2017 didn't really phase me... but I'm pretty surprised this hasn't changed. I knew the menu prices could never have been what they were nearly 7 years ago but I was surprised even when taking this into account. A chicken parm sandwich plus a peace tea (which really should be somewhere between $0.99 and $1.99) ended up at $18.35. I was totally floored. The $6 sandwich (+ toppings) has nearly tripled in price. $2 per extra topping? I really can't fathom $2 for a little bit of some topping (onions, peppers, whatever). I know things are different but it isn't like I've been under a rock for 7 years. A chicken parm grinder depending on where you go is about $8-$12. I can name 5 delis off the top of my head that can back this up. Let's get to the sandwich itself. It was bad. Way too much breading and soggy. So so soggy. This sandwich had been wrapped up for less than 10 minutes and I nearly pulled out a fork and knife to eat it. I'm so sad. I gave this place 5 stars before. I won't be returning I'm sorry to say. He was angry to the point that you could feel it coming off of him. My daughter and I were both afraid to ask for anything special because he might've Flown off the handle at any moment. He continue to grill the employees on whose fault it was as he made our sandwich. It was then discovered that he was the one who had handed the bag to the wrong customer. Things got pretty quiet after that. It was uncomfortable and embarrassing, and we couldn't wait to get out of there as soon as possible. The food is good, but we've had a few order issues when we've done an online order and picked up food. My daughter has celiac and they gave her the wrong bread on her sandwich when we specifically asked for gluten-free and were charged an additional three dollars for the gluten-free bread. I will say upon our complaining to the store owner about the error on the online order, we did get a refund on that mixup and she did receive a coupon for a free sandwich as well. I do like the sandwiches but feel it's better to go in and order directly to avoid any errors. However, a little afraid of the angry man behind the counter. Not gonna lie.
