The dogs are decent and the drinks are fine, but the last few times I've dropped in to get some grub, the music volume has been too high to have a conversation with whomever is with me. It's too loud for comfort. I don't understand this recent trend of creating a hostile environment. I'm not going to shout my order at the poor people who have to work there. I like the space and atmosphere, there's a lot of light that streams in during daylight hours. TVs are positioned strategically, so several major sports can be viewed in real time. It's essentially a hot dog eatery that's housed inside a sports bar, but an unrowdy sports bar. Staff was very welcoming although it did take awhile for the food to arrive. The quality of the hot dog itself is good however it's beef dogs (hormone and antibiotic free). I went with the downtown dog and enjoyed it, but would in the future request that the various toppings come on the side because they load them on here. I needed a fork and knife to eat mine--and not complaining! The onion rings were tasty, but had cooled off, not hot. I sampled some of a das brat and a few sweet potato fries and both were yummy. This is not your momma's hotdog. When I was a kid, my mom used to boil my hotdog or slice them down the middle and put a piece of American cheese in them in broil them. No, these are grown-up hotdogs! I had the Sooo Cali that was topped with arugula, avocado, crispy onions, and spicy aioli. All this on a simple hotdog! It was delicious. Just a note: I haven't eaten a hotdog in over 15 years! Then, around my birthday I cashed in on my free B.A.B.B. Bad A$$ breakfast burrito. They were out of a bunch of beers the first time and the second time the whole tap for all draft beer was broken. That being said, when I read the menu I'm excited about most of the food. On a cold and dark Tuesday evening in Silver Spring, on my way to the Majestic, I stopped in to the Dog Haus for a bite. I ordered a brat with sauerkraut and mustard with a side of fries and settled into the cavernous space. Not busy at all on a Tuesday dinner time, but the servers brought out the food quickly. A deep, warm link with the spice of mustard and kraut dancing on my taste buds, the dog was exactly what I needed before stepping back out into the dark. On 8/14/25, I purchased an item totaling $11.65 at Dog Haus in Silver Spring using my debit card. When I checked my account, I found an unauthorized $50.00 charge in addition to my purchase (screenshot attached). When I questioned both an associate and the General Manager, neither could explain it. The GM openly admitted he "does this all the time" and dismissed it as a "pending charge" that would "fall off." He then bizarrely instructed another manager to give me $50.00 in cash, saying I'd "have an extra $50.00" when the pending charge cleared. After I returned the food, that same manager gave me $11.65 in cash and reversed the charge on my card. These actions are highly irregular, suspicious, and raise serious concerns about whether funds are being taken for personal or other unauthorized use. On top of this, the GM's attitude toward me was unprofessional and disrespectful. This experience has completely destroyed my trust in Dog Haus, and I will be warning other Silver Spring residents. read more

I have only one good thing to say about my meal, a Reservoir Hog: the kielbasa was very good. But everything else bombed: the buttery roll, the insipid coleslaw, and the weird chili. My dining companion felt the same about the roll her burger came on, and we agreed her sweet potato fries were overly sweet. I'm not sure if any sweetener was added or they lacked salt, but whatever it was didn't work for me. After enjoying a concert at the Fillmore, my friends and I needed a place to chill, debrief, and for one of our friends to wait for our ride. I had a holy aioli burger with no bacon, my friends got tenders and chicken wings, and we were all satisfied with our food. It hit the spot after singing to the top of our lungs for three hours and waiting in line all day. The service was good, and immediately, a girl came by and dropped off water and menus. The place seems self-service, as we ordered our food via the QR code and paid for our tabs on our phones individually, rather than dealing with someone coming to our table. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's convenient for ordering our food and paying, but if we needed anything like extra sauce or had questions, it was annoying having to get someone's attention versus banking on someone coming to check on our table. The bathroom was super clean too. It was so clean, the smell of bleach lowkey almost took me out lol. I would recommend, and I knew I wouldn't be disappointed because I have been to the Bethesda location late at night with my friends, also after an event a few years ago. read more

It is a pleasure to walk into an establishment and feel treated just like you were at home, with friendly warm service with a smile and a great jovial heartfelt warm happy thoughtful face. The burgers were very good and my husband loved the chili cheese dog. I have a definite complaint that none of the rolls were toasted - they were ice cold and they made the sandwich cold. I can't think of any reason not to put the rolls on the surface that you're cooking the food on, it seems like a ridiculous oversight. I would have asked for the food to be heated up, but after the person drops off the food you don't see them again. Considering that you order your own food and nobody checks on you I think it's a also ridiculous to start the tips at 18 percent. read more

They had a decent tap list on rotation and we ordered a old town Haus dog which had a great cook and great flavor. I had the Holy Aoili (sp?) burger which was a cheeseburger with garlic mayo and grilled onions on Kings Hawaiian rolls, hubby had one of the dogs (forgot which one) and honestly they were both great. We were looking for a smaller meal that day and still I came out stuffed. The burger was good quality, the balance of toppings was good, and though I don't want to think about how many calories four KH rolls is, the bun worked well with the burger. I ordered the The Reservoir Dog -- Polish Kielbasa, Haus Chili, Slaw & Mustard!. This thing was loaded with chili and slaw which were both really good and complimented the hotdog really. But, I must say I keep hoping back to that tantalizing bun....the King Hawaiian roll that they used! lol. It was ...Soooo Good!!. There's indoor and outdoor seating, which makes this place perfect for the spring and summer months. The vibe is laid back, with an open industrial look and feel which includes booth, bar-like standing tables, TVs all around the place, a huge bar and more than two dozen beer choices. The price point is not bad either, a hot dog or sandwich will generally set you back somewhere between $9-$11 bucks. It's the mixed-drinks and cocktails that always run your bill up when dining out as we all should know. I went to the bar to inquiry and was told I had to place my order at the register. They give you a table number and bring your food to you once it's ready. The food is good, but the prices don't match the location. I wanted to get one lettuce wrap burger, and it cost me almost $20--just for one. Imagine trying to eat for two at this place. Even Five Guys is cheaper. This isn't Los Angeles or Vegas; it's Maryland, where the minimum wage is $15 an hour. If I just want something quick like a burger or fries, it shouldn't cost $40-$50 for one meal. That's just too much. They really need to do better with their pricing. I saw online that they had sandwiches, etc. based on impossible "meat" products. I went there prepared to remove the egg, remove the cheese, and remove the spicy aioli (because of vegan diet). To my surprise, not on the menu, the server told me that they had vegan eggs, vegan cheese, and vegan aioli. I was VERY happily surprised. The boyfriend and I visited the Dog Haus before the Black Label Society/Anthrax show at The Fillmore (Ha! Take that anyone who answered "Yes" to my above rhetorical question.). While I knew what we were in for before we arrived, the Boyfriend was rather disappointed in the size of his burgers. They're sliders, people. You're going to need SEVERAL orders. And don't get us started on the Dixie Cup portion size of the chili... BUT... DANG, what incredible chili!! Seriously, get something with chili. We were there during Happy Hour, so the Boyfriend had both the THIS and the THAT (a Big Mac knockoff. He got his without lettuce and the sauce was unremarkable.) burgers. I had just the THIS (I'm a sucker for caramelized onions). The flavor of these burgers is delicious. We just wished that they were burger size. They come on King's Hawaiian rolls. You get two rolls, so if you want an American sized burger, order two. We also shared a Cowboy Dog (smoked bacon wrapped dog, cheddar cheese sauce, bbq sauce, crispy onions). Where this place let us down (besides the portion sizes) is the cocktails. Pretty as a picture, but horribly watered down to the point where I left most of mine behind - and I LOVE a good cocktail. Very solid beer place. The menu is pretty diverse and broad, with just about every category of beer and basics on wine/cocktails represented. They have the cool new local crafts as well as the go-tos like Golden Monkey and Sierra Nevada hop bullet. Beer people will like it here and their wine/cocktail friends will be happy too.
