There's a fully stocked bar, plenty large TVs and an outdoor patio which makes it perfect for large gatherings. We celebrated a graduation here. We ordered pizzas and pitchers of sodas. Their Maryland-style square pizzas are delicious. All the ingredients are fresh and come together nicely. My only distaste is that the pizza could stand to be baked about 7 minutes longer for a crispy crust and better cheese pull. +Customer service was okay. Order small cheese pizza & medium rare burger w/fries. One hour later the DoorDash delivery arrived. All food was stone cold. Dasher's fault & I tipped. But opening the pizza made me think it had been eaten because every slice was wholly detached & slid around inside the pizza box like pieces of wood. I came here with a group on a Thursday night. I couldn't get parking, so I had to park at the next block and walk here. The place was full, and it was trivia night. Live music seemed to have stopped just before we were seated. Subtle dimmed lights with stained glass décor, just like the name says, are throughout the pub. It was a lively place with a lot of people enjoying themselves. How was my burger? I was hungry, and it was a good, filling meal, but flavor-wise, it's mid to low-mid. Let's not miss the point, though. It's a pub. People come here to drink and talk. We did that and enjoyed ourselves. Tasty food would have elevated the experience, but we also don't want to be spending too much on that. So, I'd say don't focus on the food. It'll fill you up. That's it. One of my favorite pizza places in Maryland. They have a very unique style of tavern pie, served on a tray with flaky crust, square cut, with slightly sweet sauce, gooey cheese, and fresh and plentiful toppings. The service here was good for how busy it was. FYI Mon and Tue are half price pizza so they get real busy. The place has local vibes with a small bar and homey restaurant feel. A true neighborhood joint. Always love supporting local business. The only thing that can be a headache is the parking, the lot is small when they are busy and the overflow in the metro lot next door is annoying but I'd say it's worth it for the pizza. I ordered food from Stained Glass pub to go. The chicken Philly cheesesteak was excellent perfectly cooked and the bread was soft. I ordered the Maryland crab soup and the clam chowder. both were 10 out of 10 lots with of great amount of vegetables in the Maryland crab soup, and amazing amount of clams in the clam chowder. the pizza was a medium ground beef pizza. I will say it lacked sauce, so it did not have a lot of flavor. Thus the four stars versus five. I will definitely order again and ask for extra sauce. read more

I waited over 35 minutes just to get takeout boxes and my check. I had to go up twice to remind the waitress that we were still waiting, and she barely checked on us the entire time. I came here to try the famous Stained Glass Pub square pizza and messed up lol. How does one do that. Well... I was so hungry that i ordered multiple things. And one of those things was the white pizza on the appetizer menu. WARNING: The white pizza on the appetizer menu is the only pizza that is not like their famous other square pizzas. It's a thin crust pizza that is round... I feel like it was fairly mid. I do also get a club sandwich (cause man o man do I miss all places serving club sandwiches - where have you been the past 14 years club sandwiches). And I also got their old bay wings. Club sandwich - everything you'd want in a club sandwich. Absolutely delicious, fries were good and crispy. Wings - well cooked. Nicely seasoned ( not over seasoned). A pretty solid wing by all measures. Would order again. Can't wait to go back... and try not to mess up ordering their pizza again. Recently went here for dinner. Service was slow and place wasn't super crowded. Been coming here for many years and I was very disappointed in the food. Pizza was way under done and we sent it back. After getting it back it had foil on the bottom stuck to the pizza. Couldn't even eat it. Yuck. Excuses as to how it had to be re-heated. Needless to say we left unhappy. The food was very mixed - the pizza I had was really good I went for half sausage half pre cooked bacon which was really good no complaints on that. I had also ordered an appetizer which was the crabby cheesy pretzel which was very disappointing based off the description of the item as it was a small pizza bagel like item. The atmosphere was very nice was it as good family friendly pub with many regulars. Now to the downsides with the service. I went for half priced pizza and that comes with a catch - every member of your party must get a beverage. Both of the two other people I were with got cokes but I don't drink soda so this didn't really work for me, a lot of other places offer the same deal but you can sub an appetizer for one persons drink which I had ordered an appetizer which cost $12 more than a drink. But my waiter was very rude in explaining that I needed to get a soda which spent its time unattended to and never drank out of on the end of the table. read more

Great place for meeting or party (especially adults group age) around suburb of Silver Spring area. It's located next to Glenmont Metro Station. Convenient location - and free parking available near by the restaurant. Inside dinner room is an average size with ordinary traditional style decorations. Atmosphere was comfy-not too loud or crowded. Food is just ok for me. (I had burger, coconut shrimp - nothing fancy) but I have heard they make a pretty good pizza and some dishes though. Next time I might try. As for service is fine, price and value is ok. My husband and I visited this place last Friday and were not disappointed! This was my second time visiting stained glass pub (I lived in the Glenmont area half of my life and never went!). We ordered the blackened Thai wings, small pizza with pepperoni and jalapeños and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious! My favorite were the wings. They were so tender and seasoned so well. The Stained Glass Pub is an institution at Glenmont, MD, one of those places that has been there so long that you sometimes forget about it. It is not flashy or eye-catching, where it sits nestled between the entrance to the Glenmont Metro Parking Garage and a big laundromat (which has also been there forever). The parking availability at the restaurant is very limited, so it is good to be so close to several other parking options. I have eaten lunch here a few times over the years and I have always been happy with their sandwiches and laidback vibe. Last night, I needed a restaurant for a group of 20 to celebrate the end of my son's basketball season and I decided to give them a call. I am glad I did! They were friendly, flexible, accommodating and helpful, setting us up by joining 4 tables together in the back. We had our own space, which was very nice with 9 children in the mix. It was a busy Friday night at the pub, so by the time we showed up around 7:30 pm things were quite busy. Still, we had our order placed for 5 large pizzas and some pitchers of soda within minutes and it didn't take long for the food to begin arriving. And wow, the pizza sure went down quickly with a group of ravenous young athletes. And yet, the pizzas were so large that there was plenty for everyone. The homemade dough was an especially big hit. The bill was very reasonable considering the amount of food, the accommodation of a large group, and the friendly service. I would NOT have anticipated a bill for under $200 for that in the metro DC area, so I was pleasantly surprised. We left a good tip because the experience overall was just really, really nice. I don't think hubby and I i gave it a fair shake, so we decided to try it again a few months ago... and we've been back several times since. The pizza is bar pizza... but GOOD bar pizza. My husband struggles to branch out and try other things when he comes here because he enjoys the pizza just that much (and he's a NY pizza snob! We first went here once pre-pandemic over a year ago for a late night adventure and were impressed with the very affordable beer and the food. I think then we ordered a chicken cheesesteak, something else, and four beers and the total was around $40. After another adventure to Office Depot and then Staples to buy a new home office chair, we came again after 9pm as the options in Glenmont are very slim. Since it was Tuesday, we had a large one topping pineapple pizza which was half off and two beers: Evolution 3 and Flying Dog Snake Dog. The pizza was very delicious, a slightly thicker and even better version of Ledo's. The bill last night was a very low amount at $22 when most places in Downtown Silver Spring or DC,l a restaurant meal plus drinks for two is often around or well above $50. Since our server was great and the pizza was half off, we left a $5 tip, so it was $27 total. We even had enough pizza left over to take home for lunch. For good quality food and booze at a very affordable price, this is the place to go. read more

I made sure to go on a Monday so that I could get the half off special on pizza (also on Tuesdays). The service was good but the food was underwhelming compared to all the hype I had heard. I ordered a large chicken pizza (10.50$ since it was half off), Cajun wings (14.49$), and bbq wings (14.49$). The pizza was solid but it was nothing special, it reminded me of ledos which is also solid. The Cajun wings were very disappointing and DRY and I definitely wouldn't recommend. So here's the thing. You know the place where most things aren't that amazing but they have that one thing that just keeps you coming back again and again and again? That's Stained Glass Pub. After a couple of deviations, we pretty much gave up on trying anything new, because the meal to get here is a Caesar salad and a pizza. Extra sauce on the pizza (preferably, just a little extra well done when you do so it doesn't get soggy) because the sauce is perfect. I'll let you decide for yourself what your own toppings are. But really... this is a pizza place. Don't let all the other stuff on the menu fool you, because everything else I've had is pretty mediocre. But damn, the Caesar and pizza is just perfect... for that "Maryland style" thin crust, rectangle cut (unless you order a small, then it's round) slightly sweet but nice and tangy sauced pizza, I haven't found better (and believe me I've been eating my way around the local pizzas since I moved here). As for the Caesar, don't make the mistake of ordering dressing on the side. Just accept the fact that it tastes best when it is drowning in delectable anchovy laden dressing and coated with the grated parmesan. The Caesar is easily enough for three or four to share as a small pizza side, for two to share as most of a meal with a little pizza on the side, or for one to eat alone. In other words, it's an entree sized salad not a side salad. As far as service goes, there are good servers and some, ahem, others. Pro tip - if you get a server who seems like they're not really acting like they are at work... tell him you are in a hurry up front and ask for your bill when your food comes. We come at lunch sometimes and there are a LOT of retirees there at lunch, which in itself is not a problem - but I think one of the servers doesn't realize that younger folks there for lunch probably have to get back to work one of these hours. Really, it's just one server who isn't so great and from now on I'm going to try to figure out what section the good servers are handling before I sit down. They have half price pizza on Monday & Tuesday (with purchase of a beverage). They have half price burgers on another day (maybe Weds?) but you're going to ignore that because you aren't going to order anything but pizza and Caesar, right? RIGHT??? If you come on Monday or Tuesday, don't come at peak hours because it will be busy with all the people who know that the reason you eat here is the pizza. In general if you come for dinner, you might want to make it an early dinner. Lunch as I mentioned is often very busy too, but mostly with retired folks. I'm not a beer person so I usually just get soda, but my other half likes the Sam Adams seasonal they usually have on tap. In my perfect world they'd have coke zero but they don't, but the diet coke is usually just fine here. Anyway, to sum up. Yep, it's old and it's not fancy, the bathroom is small and the parking lot is crowded during dinner if you don't come early on the nights they have specials. But the pizza and salad keep me coming back almost every week, sometimes twice. Yeah. So that's why it gets a 5 despite all the imperfections. read more

Was visiting the area for a few days and looked forward to picking up a couple of pies to share with our hosts... also long time lovers of Stained Glass pizza. Unfortunately the pizza was under cooked and the dough twice as thick as the original pies I remember. Way doughy and nearly raw in texture. Don't know if the sheeting process or dough volume has changed... or perhaps the original type of pans used for baking have been replaced, but something has gone wrong.
