I've been taking my dog to Dog Hotel for 4 years now, and I can't recommend this place more! This is the 3rd doggy daycare I've tried in the city, and it's the only place I trust. The staff is incredibly trustworthy, and they genuinely care about your pup! I not only take my dog here for daycare and grooming, but I also board her here occasionally, as it is one of the only places in the city that has staff on site over night. I learned that most other places in the city leave the dogs alone for about 7-8 hours at night! At Dog Hotel, there is someone here 24/7. I won't take my dog anywhere else! read more

This place sucks. If you want your dog to be in a big dark overcrowded plastic room for 8 hours, go for it. It's hard to trust them when the desk staff has no idea who the person you were communicating with via email was (same as other comments...does MARIAH even exist??) They have early drop off times for daycare which is super convenient. Staff have gone above and beyond to make sure my dog is safe. They are also very accommodating and attentive to dogs with previous injuries. After my dog fully recovered from his acl surgery he went to daycare here. The first three times he went I was contacted about his occasional limp. Their seriousness and kindness helped me feel better about my dog's return to life after surgery. I trust they will pull him if he gets too tired and contact me if anything serious happens. Plus I love that my dog is so happy when he comes home :) read more

Dog Hotel is amazing! I have been taking one of my dogs, Ariel, there for a year now for daycare twice a week. She gets so excited when I when I remind her it is a "school day" and then comes exhausted. She is an Australian Cattle dog so has so much energy to get out! After I started working from home more often, she started to show separation anxiety when I was dropping her off. The team at Dog Hotel worked through this with me and Ariel and we eventually ended up having the transportation team (Joe and Mariana) add Ariel to the morning pickup schedule, which solved everything! Still 5 stars at Dog!! We travel and utilize Dog frequently. My girl is really weird about floors and super shy! They have patience with her despite this and answer my emails quickly. On our most recent trip, I booked daily walks and asked for her harness to be tightened (because I'm extra and worry about my dog getting loose and ran over during a walk lol). Marianna told us she'd tighten her harness and my dog was returned to us with a harness perfectly fitting! This is the type of care and customer service anyone would desire for their babies. Mariah has been responsive and friendly too! The whole team is so kind and responsive to me. Grooming services are wonderful; *I* can't even get my dog's nails trimmed and they manage to do it. My dog always comes home sleepy for days like she's had tons of stimulation. The staff recognize her and like her, so I know she's loved on. At the end of the day, I love my dog like she's my child. I would not leave her with anyone else. She's gotten sick there before and they had her sent to an emergency vet. That's exactly why I spend my money with Dog. I'll continue to come back! P.S. their 24/7 open hours are for real - as someone who travels a lot, it means a ton that we can land at ORD at 9 pm, get home at 10, get in my car at 10:45 and pick her up at 11:15 pm. We travel a lot as a family and when we can't take Goldie, the Dog Hotel has always been so kind and caring. They're open 24 hours and always accommodating of weird schedules. Dog. goes beyond what a daycare/boarding facility should be. They've been nothing but flexible and kind. Their front desk people know my dog and me by name and often have a fun story about my dog when I come in to pick him up. They truly care. I mean, they give report cards for dogs, how cute is that. My job has me travel often and I really love the ability to pick my pup up at all hours. I've used their services twice and while their groomers do a good job, the management of scheduling and communications with clients is poor at best. Both times, the groomer has arrived an hour late. I have emailed asking on status updates given it was an hour delay but never once was the scheduler on top of this making me aware. The second and last time I asked for grooming service on my dog who needs grooming, and they groomer said they didn't have time because the scheduler did not notify them if that service. Proceed with caution as you may not get what you want at the time you plan... I will not be using them moving forward as there are plenty of other options in the surrounding area. TL;DR I picked up my two dogs after 11 days of boarding and one had diarrhea. No one noticed or told me. The owner says it was acceptable for him to stay in the play group with everyone else's dogs with diarrhea and is fixated with me being "rude", saying I'm harassing her, and attempting to school me, rather than explaining how this happened, which has never been answered. If your dogs were in the small dog room with mine last week, look out for diarrhea. --------------------------------- Below is my original google review (which owner is attempting to remove) w/ 2nd response from owner in its entirety in the photos. She deleted her first extra nasty response and completely rewrote it to try to turn the tables on me adding several fabrications to deflect from the actual issue, which is WHY WAS MY DOG RETURNED TO ME ILL WITHOUT NOTICE?? Also, as others mention, closely check your bills. We paid $2072 in advance and supposedly had an outstanding bill (I've never seen) for a comped $450, when the only thing we added after payment in full was one night of boarding due to a plane diversion. --------------------------------- I'm sorry I didn't have the experience others have had and I cannot recommend Dog. Hotel. When I picked up my dogs from boarding after 11 days, they supposedly had a bath the night before. One dog had diarrhea all over his bottom and feet. No one said a word. I didn't notice until as soon as he got out of the car and he was sick again. I called twice, no answer, so I sent an email asking how long he had diarrhea and was told they never saw it. So, my dog magically became sick the morning I picked him up? I am supposed to believe that no employees saw or cleaned piles of runny stool or noticed a soiled dog? I'm not sure if this is just lying to cover the business or if it's neglect because the facility is too busy to properly take care. Other red flags: -"Too busy/too many dogs" (employee words) to offer daily updates, even though the website has a place for videos, photos and report cards. I got nothing for 11 days besides a quick blip once when I emailed to check in. -Cameras are glitchy in all daycare areas. They are aware and haven't fixed. -Both dogs needed the bathroom immediately upon getting home (10 min drive) - asked if they were walked at the times I requested and paid extra for (7am/7pm). I was told they were too busy that morning and were going to do it after 10. It was never communicated the times I requested (their normal walk times) would not be possible. Now, I have to wonder if they were ever actually walked during the stay. The owner reached out to remedy this, at first offering a free bath, then did offer a partial refund, which I will now use to go to the vet to make sure neither dog has giardia from this stay. She continues to defend this situation. In the end, I am supposed to believe and have the "grace" that only on the morning of the 11th day of boarding, right before I was supposed to pick him up, my dog became ill and was totally fine the rest of the time. From Bridget/Owner: "This is something that happened quickly and the attendant did not have time to let the desk know because he was covering a break. He said that he intended to let us know when he was finished but by that time the dogs were gone." The employee didn't think or wasn't trained this was grounds for a sick dog to immediately be removed from a larger group in order to stop the spread of potential sickness to the rest of the group? Make your own decisions, but I will definitely not go here again. Maybe they're just too busy, but I find the lack of communication, or even the ability to notice a dog is sick, incredibly concerning. read more

I cannot emphasize enough how much my Zeke LOVES daycare. He is all gas, no brakes for the most part and the handlers there are amazing with him! He's really grown into his personality socializing and at the same time tuning in to his listening skills. Everyone from the handlers to the front desk and owner are completely great with dogs as well as the dog parents. On top of our once/week daycare, we have boarded here many times (even up to 10 days) and they have been amazing. I had an instance recently, where my plane got delayed three times coming back home to Chicago and they were extremely accommodating and understanding. Also, it's a bonus having the daycare WebCam and the grand suite camera as comforting enhancements. Getting the chance to see my dog play and interact with others is very entertaining as well as seeing him rest at night. Another positive is how responsive they are by phone, text, email and very easy to use website for reservations. I can always count on Dog. They take no accountability that their online booking system does not work and never updated me when my dog was severely ill. They think they are always right, they are rude to anyone who points out their flaws. Poor management and customer service. My dog has severe kennel cough that west loop vet is saying is totally common at this place. Also they didn't even know I had food brought for my dog to keep at the place so who knows what she was being fed. I picked her up and she vomited 5 times the day after I got "banned."
