I have been using PupStars for my two dogs, Boogie and Barkley, since 2021. In that time, I have gone through so many life changes and PupStars has been the one constant. I am the sole caretaker of my dogs and do not receive additional help. To say that PupStars has stepped in and stepped up to fill that void would be an understatement. They have been there during emergencies, honored last minute requests, and I love to say that they have been more helpful than any of my boyfriends ever have been! Their expansive 10,000 square ft indoor and outdoor space allows my dogs to play and get all their energy out, which wouldn't be possible in my small apartment. When they are there, they are closely monitored and cared for. The PupStars staff, who are first-aid and CPR-certified, is quick to call if they notice any out of character behavior, which has made me feel truly safe when my dogs are under their care. TBH, I trust them more than I trust myself! The services they offer are unlike any other dog daycare in Chicago. To name a few, PupStars provides morning and evening transportation, professional grooming, boarding, fecal sample testing (one of my favorites because IYKYK), adorable themed enrichment activities for every holiday, training through their partner Anything is Pawzible, and a canine aquatic facility in the works! They are more than just a daycare facility, they truly feel like family (with my dogs and I being the most dysfunctional members). Run, don't walk (whether that is on 2 or 4 legs)! If I could give more stars, I would. Pupstars is the absolute best! They are so nice, so accommodating, truly care about your dog, and make it so much easier to have a dog! Before starting daycare, I called Pupstars, explained my dog's behavior, they said it was no problem and I took her in for a short temperament test where they safely made sure my dog would safely interact with other dogs. Sure enough she passed the "test", and my dog was good to go! My dog has separation issues but she loves going to Pupstars and comes home happy and tired! I absolutely love the instagram updates daily. It's the highlight of my day to see my dog playing in the photos while she's there! They take safety of the dogs very seriously so that the dogs all stay healthy and happy. The best part is they make it so easy! They will do the required fecal test for you if you want. I've taken my dog for 2 nail trimmings here so far and that was also a great experience. I was asking the guy who does it to really get them short and round, and he said "do you have wood floors" I said "yes! She's ruining them!" and he said "I GOT YOU." And he sure did! He got those nails so short and round, no more tapping, I am delighted with the results and will be adding nail trims to our repertoire. Adjusting from no dog to having a dog has been a major life change and ever since I found Pupstars I feel like I have help whenever I need or want it, at a place where my dog will be happy and cared for. read more

*Grooming Review* We are so happy to have found this place! Granted, it ain't cheap, but we love it here nonetheless. We've groomed our eight month old Birdie here twice now. Both experiences have been great and the experiences are consistent. Alex at the front desk is always so kind and helpful over the phone and really patient with my (many) questions. They also fit us in pretty quickly which is important to us since we always wait too long to get her groomed. Oops! ‍ However, I have to say this second experience has by far been my favorite. We dropped Birdie off at 9:30 for her appointment and picked her up around 3:30/4 when they called. They also updated us to let us know the grooming is taking slightly longer than usual. When I picked her up, the groomer Yesenia and (I think it was) Alex explained some of Birdies fears from the grooming and how she pooped on the table four times. Yikes! I felt so awful but they reassured me that's what they do and deal with. They did not let me feel bad at all. They also explained that because she's afraid of the dryer, they took more time and waited until she was comfortable before just jumping back into it again. I really appreciated that! We all really appreciated that. I also love the time Yesenia took to understand the kind of cut I wanted and she absolutely NAILED it! We went a little shorter than last time and Yesenia did an incredible job making it all come together and look great. We'll be bringing Birdie here for as long as we can and requesting Yesenia for as long as she'll let again, haha read more

My favorite pupstar story is the evolution of of my dog Mamby. He is 3.5 now and he has been going to pupstar since he was a puppy. When I dropped him off he use to cry his head off and when I picked him up he would lose it. Now when I drop him off he doesn't even look back because he is so excited. Pup Stars is a straight up awesome doggy day care. We've been sending our doggo Yoshi there since he was about 4 months old (2ish years). Yoshi is really nervous around new people, so it's always impressed me how excited he gets when he sees any of the pup stars employees. He clearly loves them. He has a ton of energy, but on days that he goes to day care just naps all day when he gets home. We're pretty careful about who we trust Yoshi with especially since he's so nervous around people he isn't familiar with. But we've definitely come to completely trust these guys. We just recently moved to California, and the day before our flight we found out that Yoshi's ticket had been canceled because it was going to be too hot. We totally panicked because all of our stuff had already been picked up by movers, so we really needed to get on that plane. Luckily we thought to call Pup Stars just to see if they could somehow help us. They were SUPER accommodating, and offered to keep Yoshi at day care until he could get a flight to CA, at which point they'd take him to the airport. If you've ever taken a dog on an airplane you know how big of a deal this is. There is a ton of paperwork and lots of rules around how you go about dropping the dog off, what they're transported in, etc. Jato from Pup Stars had never done this before but he was super attentive to the detailed explanation we gave him. When he got to the airport the airline made a huge ordeal about a form we'd gotten signed 11 days earlier by our vet, when it was supposed to be within a 10 day window. It was just a stupid breed verification form - no idea why the time window mattered. But Jato handled this stressful situation so well! He contacted us and luckily we were able to get our vet to resign the form and send it to the airline. He ended up spending an hour at the airport trying to get Yoshi onto that plane. In the end it was successful and Yoshi made it to us in CA just fine. We couldn't be happier with Pup Stars. We know Yoshi will miss them, and we definitely will too. read more

Happy we found this place, our dog had a great time. However, be aware when you book a boarding reservation... we were told by 2 different people that when we boarded our dog that we would be able to pick him up anytime before 6 pm and it would be the same boarding fee. When we came to pick him up, we were charged with boarding PLUS a daycare fee. The woman who told us this was very nice about it but we wish we were told the same information... a little disappointed that their staff weren't all on the same page. Not to mention that these people told us this when we did a temperament test and tour AND on the day we dropped our dog off.
