I've boarded my cat at Meeow over 6 times now for everything from short three day stays to upwards of 11! Since she's a rescue, she tends to get a bit anxious whenever we leave her, but she always has a great experience here, even as a senior cat at age 10 now. Prior to the pandemic, we boarded her a number of times at PetSmart's Pet Hotel on Elston and looking back, it was not a good fit at all and really didn't offer our girl much space. Now at Meeow, we couldn't be happier. Knowing she's well taken care of, loved, has more than enough room to lounge and play all makes leaving her for a bit easier. We needed to board our car for two nights when we moved. They were very accommodating, and we were able to drop our girl off in the morning and pick her up two morning later. They are very responsive to requests and questions, and have a live feed of your cat in their condo. This is an incredible cat hotel!!! My partner and I have taken our cat here several times over the past few years, whenever we go on vacation. And let me say that I really trust the staff here and I so appreciate how much they care about the cats. The staff are just so lovely! And our cat always seems to enjoy his stay. He never seems nervous and he always seems pretty active and curious when he arrives and when we pick him up. Every time he comes home after his stay, he seems to have learned some new meows!! Sounds we have never heard from him before! It's the cutest thing, and I think his stays have given him an opportunity to be social with other cats, since the cats can all see each other through the glass walls. Everything about the process is convenient and easy, from making an online profile and reservation, drop off, and pick up. I love that you can have them trim your cat's nails during their stay. We typically book the classic kitty suite, but we have also tried the city kitty suite! The major perk of the city kitty suite is that it's bigger and offers a private webcam where you can use an app to check on your kitty and even play with it using a laser controlled by the app. We were even able to talk to our cat through the webcam. So much fun and a great way to stay connected with your kitty while you're away. It is on the pricier side so we usually just stick with the classic and are happy with it! A few times I did notice that the music they were playing wasn't so relaxing (quite upbeat), which made me a bit concerned about how peaceful the environment was for the cats. However my partner said other times he's dropped off/picked up, the music seemed fine. I recently boarded my kitties with Meeow Chicago, and overall it was a positive experience. Disclaimer: I am an overprotective cat mom with separation anxiety. Boarding my cats was an extremely difficult decision and Meeow Chicago is the only place I'll ever take them to. I'm only writing this review because previous reviews really helped me make an informed decision before booking. The good: The facility is beautiful, clean and quiet. I LOVE that they cater only to cats. The place was well lit, and had a calm environment. The rooms were so cute and I appreciate that they had shelves/trees for my fur babies. I also loved the communication that Meeow provided me. I texted them with a question and they answered quickly. I also liked that they didn't allow people to walk back into the boarding area. Cats are so skittish and sensitive to new things/people. The daily social media updates were also great! I loved seeing the cats on fb and the pictures were really nice! The not so good: I paid a premium for this place because I loved the idea of a camera/ laser pointer in the room. However, the cameras are not available during evening hours (this is listed on their website). I understand that the facility isn't staffed in the evenings (and I'm ok with this given that they would be alone at home anyway) but I really wish cameras had unlimited access. Also the laser pointer did not work well for me, or the camera feedback is slow. This is important information to consider when boarding your fur babies. Over all, I liked my experience with Meeow. I would use the services again. We will use them for grooming services too in the future. I loved the prompt communication, the beautiful facility. They were also very patient when I asked questions or when I was running late to pick up my babies. I would just ask that they reconsider giving customers 24/7 camera access. Thanks Meeow! read more

They have been my favorite for several years, and now recently at their new convenient location only a stones throw from O'Hare airport (with a long-term parking facility and transportation around the corner). This is the next best thing to keeping my cat at home with me. The staff is excellent, I get updates, and they stay on top of my cat's well-being. Dylan had never been boarded before. 16 years old and grumpy (*understatement ) her reputation even with family and friends has preceded her for years. She is generally considered by anyone we have asked to watch her over the years as "a raging b*tch."We don't take it personally. It's just who she is. She came from the streets and she lives by its rules. We have, however, been able to compile a set of rules to interact with Dyl if you aren't her mom or dad: 1. Don't touch her. 2. Don't attempt to feed her without full body protection. Maybe invest in those arm gloves people who train falcons wear. 3. For the love of god, don't show affection. 4. Probably don't make eye contact. So why did we impose this nightmare upon the innocent team at Meeow? Because we are moving from Chicago to Ohio and would be without a permanent/consistent/cat-friendly residence for nearly a month as we wait for our house to close. Meeow came highly recommended by a friend of mine, so we took a shot, hoping this could be a possible learning experience for Dyl. Maybe she'll open up? Maybe she'll settle in and accept love from a stranger? Maybe she'll realize being a d*ck to anyone attempting to feed her, keep her litter box free of poop and generally just keep her alive should be treated with a minimal amount of respect if not begrudged appreciation? This was sadly, if expectedly, not the case. Dylan is a B. But she's my B. And the thing I do know is that the team at Meeow provided her with a safe space to hang while our lives settled down a d became more consistent. They took care of her despite her. And I will never be able to say thank you (or sorry for pu) enough. So, dear potential customer, please feel confident in choosing Meeow. They are wonderful. Update 2: downgraded to 1 star & attached the DC owner's comments on him which were much more professional than Jennifer's. Update & Response to Owner: I had my cat brought to a groomer in DC instead since that is where he's been for the past 4 months and why I didn't respond to any of the "reminder" texts that Jennifer would like to blame me for again - as if I enjoy seeing my cat getting matted and ignore it on purpose? The groomer in DC gave him a perfect lion cut with no scratches or scars and said he was an amazing cat that they would love to have again anytime (every other groomer I've ever worked with has said this about him) so I'm not totally sure what's up with Meeow. His appointment in DC also took 4 hours so can't imagine what his "time-limit" with Meeow is and why there is one. This also doesn't change the fact that his temperament has never been discussed with me any of the prior times I had him groomed by them. Furthermore, I never said he was impatient for ME, I said he will start growling and getting antsy after a while (I added a screenshot of the exact comment I add to every appointment request) but again, what cat doesn't? It's strange to me that Meeow grooms cats exclusively but doesn't know this simple fact about all cats. I've come to the conclusion that their groomer(s?) must be extremely new or inexperienced and not comfortable with anything other than short haired cats with no mats - which is fine but would've been nice to have this communicated with me and marketed as such. There are other 1 star reviews for this place from customers who had very similar experiences to mine which is how I concluded this. Would not recommend this company for long haired cats or cats with any type of grooming challenge. I've had my cat groomed by Meeow Chicago several times and really enjoyed how convenient the mobile grooming was during COVID! However, I tried to schedule another grooming this past week and my cat was rejected because apparently a past groomer said that he will turn aggressive after a while and "very suddenly". This was so strange to me as I've had several groomers see my cat over the years and there's never been a single complaint against him. I understand his personality might've changed now that he's older but when I asked if he hurt anyone or attacked the groomer, they said he hadn't and that there was just a comment on this from a previous groomer. This has never been mentioned to me when I've picked him up so I was shocked to hear this! It's especially strange because I'm reading other reviews about how other customer's "fiesty" cats have been groomed fine by Meeow. I do think their blow dry & belly shave services have been done well in the past though so giving 3 stars but they could work on communication and customer service as Jennifer did call me to explain why my cat couldn't be groomed by them but it felt like she was trying to blame me for not knowing that my cat can turn aggressive because I added a note to my appointment request that he gets impatient if the grooming takes too long but would never attack anyone or thing (I add this note to every groom appointment I've ever made including prior ones with Meeow and it's never been brought up before and whose cat doesn't get inpatient after a while....?). I'm attaching pictures of my cat because I honestly believe they either mixed up his notes with someone else or there is some other underlying reason for why they won't take him or me as he's the laziest cat I've ever had that barely moves. read more

What if there's a fire? 4) Need more transparency. The suite I booked online was nothing like what my cat was put in. They eventually moved my cat to a "better" room, but only after I called them and texted. 5) Somehow, there appeared a 3 days "peak holiday" extra charge 6) There was a $60 gratuity that I didn't know about. I would happily give more if they deserved it, but in this case, they didn't. 7) Late fee checkout: $20. 2:30 PM I guess is "late" What was supposed to cost $315 ended up being $455. Another successful stay at Meeow Chicago for my Mr. Clydefrog. I won't lie, Mr. Clydefrog is accustom to a certain way of life in his apartment where he can act as Supreme Overlord of the West Loop, and isn't always as thrilled as I am when he is checked in for a spa-retreat... but I know that he is extremely cared for and has every fancy amenity a cat could wish for right at his paw-tips. It gives me peace of mind that he has his own private suite with all the bells and whistles (even if he only pouts in a cubby) rather than a little cage like a most borders. As they say, "money can't buy happiness; but I would much rather cry in a Ferrari than in a Kia."
