I really like this place. It's not a fru-fru fancy place, so don't go in expecting that. Smells like wet dogs, but isn't that what you should expect!? All of the staff here are really friendly, laid-back and you can definitely expect what you pay for (in a good way). Most times I can get same-day appts as well which is huge as I'm not a planner. I usually get our dog bathed (no cut) and it's $45 for a 25 lb medium haired dog. He smells like roses, and generally acts pretty rested once we pickup. They will keep your pet in a kennel before or after the service and it seems quiet in there versus some places where you feel like all of the animals are loud and wound up, maybe even freaking out that their owners aren't there. Not here, which makes me feel good as our dog has a very nervous temperament. Recently, on our third trip back, we got our dog - who sheds a CRAZY amount - cut/shaved and he looks incredible. He's a smaller dog, not especially made to have a haircut, and they didn't botch him at all. Will be back every 6-8 weeks as recommended for sure! Thanks guys xx read more

Dog in Suds is the best! This is the only place that my Malamute-mix was never stressed out to go to. They are sweet, clean, friendly and it is quiet and peaceful in there. Siéte has gone to the eternal hunting grounds now, but even when she had some health issues they treated her lovingly and special care. Thank you for the many years you took care of my baby-girl. I brought our very anxious , newly adopted black lab mix to get his nails trimmed . I had waited a few months for him to be calm and trusting with us, but I still couldn't cut them myself. This place came highly recommended to me. The workers there really care about the dogs, and gave immediate good service. They were very sweet and calm with him, but that being said, needed me to put a muzzle on him because he was so anxious . He made it an extremely difficult job, but they got the job done ! For years we took our two maine coons to Dog In Suds with great success. But the last time I received a call that one of our cats was acting up and they would need another hour to redo her... When I arrived to pick them up they told me that one cat had soiled herself and had to be cleaned up. When I got home I noticed that the smaller cat which had soiled herself had like a blood bubble in her left eye. The next day it was worse and I took her to the vet who said that she suffered real trauma to her eye like it was hit or whatever. He had some bad experience in the past at the vet so we took him to dog in suds and I dropped him off and picked him up and he looked nice and clean and he was really happy and they said he did awesome with his nail trimming. First time trying Dog In Suds, it was a good experience. After calling several groomers who were either closed or booked for several days, Dog in Suds delivered. They fit me in the very next day. Were professional, nice, fast, and my dog's haircut was excellent! He's a labradoodle. After a brief consultation describing the cut I had in mind, they groomed our dog exactly as I envisioned. I have been going to dog&suds for 9years. this is my 2nd golden I have brought there. I brought her in a couple weeks ago to get her tummy shaved only to find out they shaved her mole OFF her tummy. When I brought that to Darsy's attention, she said "we would have never done that and we would have told you if we did" she also added sometimes dogs lick where we shave BUT she was 100% wrong - my dog would not lick the mole off! it was bloody and did not look good at all. I brought my golden back in to show Darcy and all she said was " I'd get that looked at if I were you" Really?? so I went to Dr. Pearson in SM to have her look. well she said she will clean & stich it up. That was a $425.00 vet visit, it would have been $625 but I could not afford her to biopsy it, so that brought the bill to $425! when I picked my girl up, I went back to Darcy to let her know it was a $425 visit and all she said was "I'm glad you had it looked at" To me that was very bad business service. They are good for service time but not very attentive. I have always reminded them about the mole. Darcy said she was going to shave her only to be told by Darcy someone else shaved her back legs and Darcy shaved her tummy. I will not go back there and will be someone elses customer now. I'm giving Dogs In Suds one star because I couldn't post review without one, otherwise there would be no stars. I took my mini schnauzer in on the 16th of June, and partly my fault that I didnt ask how long it would take, but I think 4 1/2 hours is way to long. Also the groomer nicked her pad on the bottom of her foot. Also I did not like the cut at all. After a hefty vet bill because of the nick on her paw, and she had to wear a boot for a week (because she wouldn't stop licking). I called and spoke to the manager, she said she would call me back after she talked with the groomer. She said the groomer did not know she had nicked her foot, which I'm not sure I believe, because she only had 1 paw done, the one nicked, and the only resolution the manager had was to bring her back in and she would fix cut. I told her I would never bring her back there, and there was no other resolution to the matter. I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY DOG THERE AGAIN. My dog was totally tramatized. read more

I brought my dogs here for 16 years really out of convenience, I work across the street. They do a decent groom, price is alright, however they never remembered me. For 16 years I brought my dogs every 4-6 weeks. When they both finally passed away, I never heard from them. You would think that if you had a customer you saw every month and then suddenly they stopped coming you would wonder what happened. I eventually got a new puppy and brought her to be groomed. When I walked in they did not know who I was nor did they ask what happened to my dogs. I think I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I will start out by saying that my dog's nails are not easy to cut. She gets really nervous and moves around a lot which is why I don't do it myself, but this past weekend we had a pretty bad experience at Dog In Suds. We called the day of and were happy that they could squeeze her in but the appointment did not so great. First of all, I could hear my dog yelped from the front of the store. I know this isn't that abnormal as she is a bit of a drama queen. When they brought our dog back up front, she jumped up into my arms and was shivering. As we were waiting to pay, I noticed some blood on my sweatshirt. My dog's paw was gushing blood...again, I know this isn't that abnormal but my problem with this place came when I addressed her bleeding paw. The young girl that had trimmed her nails acted super annoyed when I brought this to her attention. She didn't even do anything about it, she just told the lady up front (who by the way was really nice). They put the powder on her nail did stop bleeding but none of the staff said sorry or even offered me a tissue to clean up all the blood all over my hands and clothes. Needless to say, I think we will be using another groomer in the future. read more

This place is horrible!!! Do no take your pet here. I took my golden retriever here about 1 1/2 months ago because it got decent ratings. I don't mind paying the high price of getting my dog groomed as long as she is treated nice and secondly, groomed well. BOTH were a major disappointment. I picked my golden up after 3 1/2 hours there and she was still damp and smelled like a wet dog ( they tried to mask it with some cheap fragrant of some sorts). WORSE...when I took her home I found blood all over my bedroom, bathroom, down the stairs, and all of downstairs. They had cut her nail too short and she was bleeding uncontrollable. They cut her nail short at the groomers and tired to cover it up with some power I am guessing. Once my dog got home, it started to bleed again. I had to bandage her up, clean all the blood off her coat, and clean the blood stains. I called the groomer immediately and left a message with my number. To my surprise...NOT a call back. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! read more

Rude and inconsistent! Several times my dogs were cut incorrectly despite giving explicit directions for each dog. Not only were they groomed incorrectly, I was charged for them to correct the mistake. I spoke with the owner Denise and she was extremely rude and insulting. I was told if I didn't like it not to come back because they had "too many nice people" who come. I cant begin to express how insulted i was. I was polite and professional yet was addressed with mean spirited hostility. Of course we will never return. Also be aware that your dog will not have the same groomer each time hence an inconsistent cut, you can't go in the back to see the facility, you can't meet the groomers, and if you complain, you are met with hostility! read more

I recently brought my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel here to be groomed. He returned with a bloodshot left eye. Within a few hours of being home, he was completely unable to open the eye, and was clearly in pain. Upon taking him to the vet that evening for an emergency visit, we discovered an ulcer in the center of the eye, brought upon by a laceration. He is now wearing a cone and is being treated for the ulcer, which could take up to two weeks to heal with medication. Thankfully the medicine has a numbing agent that will reduce his pain levels, as the vet informed us that such ulcers are very painful. I will never bring my dog back to this place, and advise anyone reading this (who truly cares for his/her pet's physical well-being) to do the same. read more

yes I take my two dogs here but after the last couple of years I realized the owner (I think she is the owner) always finds something to yell at me about when I come in and she is there. The price isn't a bargain and they always (Every single time) find some reason to shave the dog down to far. IT doesn't matter what I ask for I still get the same results albeit with differing excuses as to why. Lately the price is going up too. Now it's $48 to shave a Westie or 55 for a Wheaton. I've had my cat groomed by Renee for 4 years now. (My cat is a 15-lb, super long hair, stress bucket what jumps and hides under the bed when you make sudden movements :)) It's been good. No complaints from me. Only one time did she not cut enough of my cat's mane (I don't like the silly lion's cut) but you let her know and she'll do it as you wait. Once in a while if Renee's not too busy grooming she'll bring the cat out to you. She's gushed a couple of times on how well behaved my cat was. It has only been 2 1/2 have months since we had our dogs in for a full groom. When we picked up our dog today after a full groom we were given a 15% mark up since the last grooming WITH NO NOTICE! Surprise! We would not have brought our dog here if we had known ahead of time. When confronted with the question of why we were not told beforehand, the girl said "I don't know. I usually work in the back". VERY POOR BUSINESS practices. There was no offer to "right " the situation. We won't be back. They'll probably jack up the prices again. I took my dog a few times to Dog N Suds about a year ago. Each time I explained exactly what I wanted - for my Bichon to look like a Bichon, not a poodle. Each time I picked him up, he had a "poodle cut" not a Bichon cut. So, this week I couldn't get him into the groomer I've been using so I thought, I'll give them another try. Well, iIf you have a Bichon Frise - DO NOT TAKE HIM/HER TO DOG N SUDS. Their groomers do not know how to groom Bichons. I went back to speak to the owner and she said "well at least it will grow back." Not much comfort when your dog looks terrible. read more

If you know me at all, you know I am always overly specific. I don't think it as fussy but rather knowing exactly what I what and how I want it. This need for exacting detail permeates the life of my West Highland White Terrier's as well, especially through her beautifully groomed furnishings. Her proper name is Olivia but she also responds to a plethora of nicknames (Wisher, Bijou, Dar Dar, it all works). Back to her furnishings, they would not be so perfected without the service of Dogs In Suds. As long as you tell them just what you want, they will follow through (probably begrudgingly for my pain-in-the-ass). Once, I neglected to be so exacting with my particulars and they entirely shaved her. It was a huge step back for her adult Westie coat as she had just turned one and her furnishings had just begun to properly fill in. The whole fiasco took about a year to mend but now she is once again picture perfect. Dog In Suds has made no such mistake and I am very comfortable and confident entrusting my personal "Best in Show" Olivia there to be beautified. read more

The owners and staff are so nice and inviting and I have never once felt bad leaving my little princess with them.
