Full stop. If you have a small dog, don't even *think* about going anywhere else! The last two times there hasn't been one - whatever. Annoying for the amount of money they pay. Especially, because Cali didn't have a bow for Christmas pictures when she was groomed at that time ... :( We've also wanted a consistent person come to the house because our dogs are extremely picky/anxious! However, that has also not been held up as we've continuously had different groomers. Today - after my parents paid and tipped the company they told my mom that my greyhound fell off the table and they put hydrogen peroxide on it. Eli has an open wound that is bleeding, bruising, and he's limping. Not to mention they had an additional groomer today because they were training someone. There should have been at least one hand on Eli??? He's a greyhound rescue - they have been grooming him for a while they know his actions and behaviors. If there's two of you why was Eli able to fall of the table - was nobody watching? In a small van.... please. After Cindy called my mother - we were expecting an apology and would reconsider our frustration. BUT she tried to justify that he's hurt and said "Christina, put this where it should be" as if it should ever sit well. She said he's a nervous dog and has done this before. I texted her even though she was apparently not accepting new clients, and she responded immediately, and had an opening a few days later. Our frightened little girl did very well with Katie, who is now grooming our new Maltese. Katie is completely professional and courteous, extremely accommodating to our schedule, and understanding when emergencies happen. When I realized that our new dog's coat is thicker and coarser than our previous dog's, I asked her to change the cut; Katie responded in a positive manner and understood completely what I was asking for. My dog is my fur baby, so taking him to a groomer I trust is really important to me. The employees are professional (on the phone and in person), they send a text reminder before your scheduled appointment, and they've always done a wonderful job cutting my dog's hair (haircuts complete with a colorful bandana). I especially love and appreciate how they have a gated area for dogs to wait in until their owners come pick them up (instead of crating them). I'm so glad that Pretty Paws is close to my home, and I'll continue to be a repeat customer!

There have been several changes implemented due to new ownership: 1) They no longer have cage free grooming and they put our dogs into kennels while they wait for us to pick them back up 2) Prices have gone up about 2-3 times due to the rise of inflation which is understandable but wanted to share to other dog owners for awareness 3) They use an assembly line process for grooming which is faster so our large dogs are typically in and out within ~2 hours Although our doodles typically came out well groomed for the most part, they both began to dread coming in and felt more anxious than usual, which wasn't a good sign to us. Additionally, the new front desk staff (male) could work on his customer service etiquette as he has came off as condescending multiple times to both myself and my husband regarding the care of our dogs. Our other friends who also brought their dogs here have shared similar sentiments. This is not their fault, but the location can be challenging to get to during traffic hours (they close at 4PM Monday through Saturday) since it's right on 50 and a lot of cars are going out west.

HOWEVER, despite the inconsistency, they are willing to accommodate and learn to cut my poodles' hair the way I like it. I have tried going to other places in NOVA, 6 different groomers to be exact. Everywhere else is worse and they don't know how to cut a standard poodle's hair. I even went to the other Ashburn Belmont Chase Woof Gang location and they gave my dog an ear infection (very untrained groomers there)! I started coming here when my poodles were puppies and because of the owner back then, my dogs dont fear going to the groomers. I have started coming back here now with my nine year old poodles and I think I will not look for other groomers anymore.
