Iced lavender latte with coffee ice cubes

One of the best lattes I've ever had! They make syrups in house and offer coffee ice cubes. My iced lavender latte was amazing. There lots of seating options inside along with some of the most beautiful monsteras I've seen.

Looking for a vegan dirty chai in Hood River. Here's your place. Delicious!! Been here a couple times to puck up drinks to go. But it looks like a nice chill place to hang out

Totally laid back coffee shop with a surprisingly large and open space. I'm used to coffee shops with lots of small intimate seating areas. Dog River is open and spacious with tables along the wall And a few along the window for people watching. best seats are right out on the sidewalk when weather permits. Their chai is fabulous, really hits the spot any time of the day! Also love their iced coffee drinks. They have pastries from local bakeries, as do most of the coffee shops, and they are all good. Last time I tried the zucchini bread and it was moist and delicious. Large slice that provided me with breakfast for two days! Friendly, welcoming service in a very casual environment, perfect spot for a beverage and snack.

Love this cute little place! All I drink is a black Americano so I'm not hard to please but the staff is very friendly and they already remember me and what I order after only two days in a row. I can tell by their interactions with other customers that it's a popular place where locals feel comfortable and welcome. I've had my dog with me so haven't been able to hang around, but I would love to sit and observe for awhile. I can't wait to be back here!

Located in the middle of town. Nice friendly neighborhood coffee shop. Swung by for a hot cocoa and it was great. Teens were running the register and making drinks. Cocoa was yummy with a hint of cinnamon. Space is huge lots of tables as well as a few along the window for people watching

Nice little place on the corner. I got myself an espresso for $4.75. Seeing as I knew nothing about coffee, I didn't expect it to be so bitter, but after I started drinking for a little bit, it kind of grew on me. I could not believe how fast they got my coffee prepared, it was almost as if they had it ready to go before I even ordered it. The place is so cozy and clean. Would recommend.

The inside of this shop is very spacious and clean with a pretty warm decor. There are three nice tables by the large windows up front for people watching. I ordered a lavender latte. They make their own syrups here. It wasn't too sweet, perfectly balanced flavors. Staff were very sweet and asked about your day/where are you from. A very nice place with great product. Easy to tell that these people care about their business. 10/10!

A small variety of pastries, scones, bagels and quiche. We tried a few and all were decent. Black Coffee offering uninspired and other drinks as expected. Big space with plenty of seating, but generally empty of patrons. Average coffee shop at best, but it was the service that suffers. It's a bit manic. The interaction ranges from happy to see you, to apathetic to annoyed to be there. Getting the coffee and food right is expected, it's the service that makes you feel warm and welcome that sets a cafe apart. Perhaps that explains the lack of patrons compared to the cafe on the other end of the strip we saw with a bustle of customers before choosing Dog River because it seemed we could more easily find a place to sit.

If you like "bright" coffee, this is your place. I am personally not a fan of it. I had to dump it and leave.

The espresso was good. The disappointment was that they really don't do lunch. So good for coffee and cake but not for lunch

Breakfast plates were great with many options to choose from. I had the burger one night for dinner and it was well prepared and very tasty. The second night I had the hcicken tacos and those were really good. So many good flavors combined. Their kids meals were great too. Best food in HR, in our opinion!

Split the St. Helens Burger, an order of fries, and a side salad with the recommended goat cheese (trust them--it was the right call). The burger was everything you want it to be. A fresh poppy seed bun, a perfectly cooked patty, sweet caramelized onions... and then came the poblano pepper. That little bit of smoky heat tied the whole thing together. Now let's talk about the fries because they deserve their own paragraph. These are, without question, my favorite fries. They arrived hot, crispy, perfectly golden, and had that satisfying crunch that makes it impossible to stop at just one. If you're a fry person, these alone are worth the visit. The side salad was fresh and flavorful, and the creamy goat cheese took it from "just a side salad" to something I'd happily order again. It was the perfect balance to all those delicious fries. If you're looking for a place that consistently delivers great food in a welcoming atmosphere, Kickstand Coffee should absolutely be on your list. We've yet to have a bad meal here, and it's one of those places we recommend without hesitation to friends, family, and anyone who asks where to eat. I now wish I didn't let my husband eat more of the fries. Gotta head back up there soon! Service was great and love that the girl at the counter asked me if I was doing anything fun today - extra friendliness goes a long way!

We all got different sandwiches and every single one of us loved what we got. Wasn't too busy on a Friday morning, plenty of open seating. They did have pastries as well but did not partake. Ordered the bagel and lox which was amazing- came with all the fixings such as tomatoes, capers & red onions. The salmon was fresh and the bagel was nice and toasty, just the way I prefer. Got to taste the sandwich with the jam and loved it. Kind of wish I got that sandwich instead just cause of the jam. The bread was really good too- I think they were homemade english muffins. Everything on the sandwich was just chef's kiss! All of the employees were really nice. The place was clean as you have to "buss" your own table. Glad that people can follow directions. The drinks my group ordered came out piping hot and was served with a smile. Cool spot!

You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The dining space is bright with tons of seating. I love that they make their own bread!! It's super soft and such a nice touch. I usually go with the turkey which has turkey, white cheddar, tomato, pickles, onion, lettuce, and hot mustard. It was a bit spicier than I would have liked, not that it was too hot, but that flavor was really dominant for me so I'd probably modify it a bit in the future or just build my own . My daughter loved her ham sandwich which comes with sprouts, avocado, and cucumber. My husband also really liked his Italian and their clam chowder. This place is definitely worth a stop if you are hungry in the Gorge!
