I just dropped my dog off to be groomed. The groomer who normally takes care of my dogs was running late, so another groomer checked him in. Yes, I understand you all are busy. No excuse to be rude to me or other customers. When I've bathed my dogs before, I was told that they don't like to give dogs another bath so soon after they are bathed at home as it dries out their skin and that you should normally bathe your dog once a month. I bathed my dog last week. This time, I was told that they must bathe a dog as they don't work on dogs that are dirty. The groomer, who had multiple piercings, was rude and I would never want her to groom my dogs. read more

The new lady would charge extra because "our dog was difficult" so after deciding to take him to the pampered pet in lower maple valley we realized that they must have been being mean to our dog! My dog was completely shaved when I arrived (nothing that I asked for) and when I asked the groomer 'what happened??', he said there was matting around the head area. My dog was not matted at all. First of all, I like their business model. All the other groomers I've taken my dog to crate them as they stagger clients, and the dogs are miserable for twice as long. They keep a list of what you like in their computer, and then verify you want the same things when dropping off. Over the last 10 visits, 9 cuts have looked really good! The face was choppy and strange once, and another time the gal left huge shaggy fur on her legs. (I've never asked for boots.) But I took her back and they fixed it. read more

After going to the same groomer for the last 9 years, it was finally time to make a change for multiple reasons. I posted on Facebook on a Community page asking for local groomers that were recommended. I was overwhelmed with responses, and this place had more recommendations than anyone else. I was able to call and make an appointment for the next day. The salon is decent sized, and wide open so you can see the dogs being groomed. Located in Four Corners between Grocery Outlet and Johnson's Home & Garden. The ladies seemed very friendly and helpful. For my 4lb Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, it cost about $57 for her grooming. They did a pretty good job, a few uneven spots around her head and belly, but nothing to really be upset about. The only thing that would make this place better is if they called you when your dog was ready - I don't live that close so it isn't a quick 5 minute drive to pick her up. I did not know the 2 hour was a sort of a guarantee, as the website says 2-4 hours depending on size of dog and how long the hair is, and so I ending up waiting an extra hour before going in to see if she was done, as I was expecting a call. we have been taking our dog to Dog Spaw in Maple Valley for several years. NEVER AGAIN! Appointment was at 1:00 pm today. The groomer said 2-3 hours, which has never been projected for that long. I called twice after 4:00, leaving a message for a call back. when a call didn't come, we drove back to pick up our dog. he had been bathed as nails done, but no haircut. Manager apologized, but groomer asked for another 35 minutes. I said "no way" and asked her to bringmy dog from the back room. I was charged $60 for bath and nails. The groomer argued with me all the way out the door that she said 3-4 hours. The manager was the only one clipping a dog when I went in. The other groomer was in the back. We will not do business with this place ever again. Continual turnover the past few months gives no confidence and today's terrible service today made this an easy decisio! read more

I've been taking my dog here for years. Today, what normally is 2 hours I was told 3. It took almost 4 hours and they charged me $10 more for what Alex claimed was the time it took to groom my dog, saying she wasn't handling the grooming well. My dog has never had an issue until today. Because of the length of time it took and the upcharge, no tip was given. I have a tough time rating Maple Valley Dog Spaw. The groomers themselves do a good job. However, the price that is charged is way to high. I have two small dogs that are under 18 pounds. They charged $230.00 for the two. Then of course you have to tip your groomer so my bill was then $280.00. I am shocked. They claimed my dogs had mats. My dogs are lap dogs and I am constantly petting them, I would be able to feel mats. Without the mat fee, it would have been $98.00 per dog. Still way to much! Time to find a new groomer! read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had and my animals have seen a few different groomers. First they don't follow simple instructions then they don't handle your animals with care. She shut the door on my cats tail, couldn't figure out how to close a simple carrier and had no patience with my cat to the point my cat bit her. Which my cat never has bitten any groomer in the past and my cat will warn you when she needs a break. then you try to contact the manager of the stores and they don't even respond to you. Will never go here again or recommend it to anyone. I attempted to go here a few times and she never groomed them right no matter how many time you explain what you need. Then she charged me $350 saying she has to go to the doctor because of the bite. When I walked in she was grooming another dog and I had to take my cat somewhere else to get groomed again. Today was the 3rd time I have taken my Yorkie to Dog Spaw in Maple Valley. I very specifically said do not shave her, just give her the typical Yorky cut, same as before. When I picked her up I hardly recognized her! She now looks like a Chihuahua, they shaved her entire head and face and it's completely chopped up and uneven everywhere! Then they left all of her body hair long so she looks completely off-balance! I am so upset! And they charged me full price! Never Again!! Today was our 3rd visit here to have our dogs nails cut. Both prior visits they charged our dog a 'small dog' price. (We tip WELL). Both prior visits a groomer took our dog back and did her nails with no problem. The atmosphere was VERY LOUD with many dogs barking and howling on our first visit, so I almost didn't go back...but gave it another chance and our second visit went fine. This visit there were TWO groomers who tag teamed our girl it upset her - and then the groomers couldn't even hold our dog long enough to finish her nails. Our dog is 38 lbs and thin. She is a medium sized dog in my opinion. Our dog is a compliant dog. This has NEVER happened at any other place we have taken her. She sits and holds still for (competent) groomers at the other places we have gone. To top it off they charged us 15$ more than the previous two trips. I Wouldn't be here complaining if maybe for that price they COULD HAVE COMPLETED THE JOB? I had to pay extra, and my dogs nails were not all done? Seriously? The salon might want to set some actual rules as to what a SMALL DOG vs a LARGE dog is? Maybe go by weight or shoulder height? SOMETHING VIABLE? Not some arbitrary "how do I feel at the moment" price. Our dog is the same size now as the last two times she came in. They also may want to say upon your arrival "Yes...you have a large breed and that will cost x dollars" prior to taking your dog back. Just a thought. I was sent an appointment confirmation for 2:30pm however, I received a phone call at about 2:15pm telling me that they had given my spot to another dog because I was late. When I tried to explain my reminder/confirmation the lady rudely and condescendingly lectured me on their system and that it "would be a wasted of my time" to come show them because there was nothing they could do for me. I'm still trying to understand what service was performed that warranted a $150 dollar price tag. I'm sorry but it just boggles my mind how the service industry thinks they're so entitled to this. My oldest dog is quite the stinker and needed a full groom. Saw the positive reviews and decided to book him an appointment. Upon arrival I was full disclosure that he would cause a fuss for getting his nails trimmed. Lisa didn't bat an eye, and advised to give them a little more time just in case. They were very attentive to what it was I was looking for in a cut for my dog. 2 hours later I came by to pick him up and he was PERFECT! I took our Pearl here on recommendation from my good friend and was very pleased. Not only was I treated kindly (and they were SUPER busy!!), but they took the time to ask their own questions and answer my questions for them. Pearl was a little anxious at first when we came in, but warmed right up when the groomer asked me to hand her to them "behind first" Pearl could see me and immediately felt more comfortable. When I picked her up, she not only looked beautiful, but smelled wonderful. Nails clipped, hair cut to perfection...with a cute yellow feather in her hair and a sweet bandana. I have an old dog, 17 years old. They were great with him. I also have a 10 year old with a heart condition. After another groomer in the south sound put our older dog with several other dogs he was mauled. She seen it and stressed so bad it was a vet visit. The groomers at 2 hour spa were amazing with her! New management and new business model has ruined this company. The quality of the groom has changed and customer service is nonexistent. Today I was surprised with a new groomer (the one I had made my appointment with had left her job there). But I talked to the new groomer, because I felt it would be unfair to her to take an appointment from her over decisions not made by her, I decided to give her a chance. After she took my dog, the other employees very disrespectfully communicated changes to service and somehow thought I should have known about changes (like no more 2 hour grooms) despite never being told that and all other grooms being within 2hours. The way they addressed me was so disrespectful that I didn't really want to leave my dog, but the woman that had taken him wasn't at fault for her coworkers bad customer service skills. She did a good job. But this is not the first time I've had employees there talk to me in inappropriate ways. So I was weighing whether I would continue to be a loyal customer to a business that doesn't value customers. As I left, I was told that going forward the price to groom my 7# toy poodle will be $95. Lol, like I'd pay that to be abused on a regular basis. Nope. Not going to happen. A note to management, if you want to charge high end rates, you need to provide high end services, that includes customer service. read more

I have thought about posting this for the last week after taking my shitzu-maltese in for a haircut. I've taken her here a few other times with no major complaints except that her leg hair always looks choppy, never blended right. I decided to start doing her hair myself for the last several months. She has long hair that I brush daily with a pony tail on top of her head. I also bring her to work with me everyday, she's like an emotional support dog to my patients. They all adore her. My husband said she needed to be cleaned up, her feet especially, so I reluctantly booked an appointment. When I brought her in I was very specific, leave her hair long, trim in between her eyes, trim her muzzle, shave her belly and cut the hair on her feet. When I went to pick her up her ENTIRE muzzle was gone, everything else left long, no shaved belly. She looked absolutely ridiculous!!!! When I asked the groomer why she cut her that way, her response was, "Yorkie's are supposed to look like that". I said, "She's not a Yorkie! Not to mention this is not at all what I asked you to do!" Her response, (you'll never believe it) "maybe you should go do a review then or find another groomer". I was beside myself, couldn't believe what I was hearing. Then I remembered the last time I had brought her there, I called to ask if I could have a different groomer because her leg hair was all chopped up, the lady replied, "We don't know how to read minds". I realized this was the same lady and said to her, "I remember you now. " She looks at my flustered and says, "You were rude first!" , like she was in first grade. She finally says she's not going to charge me and hands me back my card. I emailed the owner who of course stuck up for the groomer saying they are sensitive to their work and that she had just told her prior to me picking Willow up how great she looked. She then says in it's probably best I look for a different groomer. In reading the other reviews on here, it sounds like they just don't know how to cut little dogs hair so when all else fails, shave it off. So disappointed and will NEVER go here again. read more

We bring our golden retriever in for a full groom every few months -- scheduling is an easy process, the quality of the groom is great and they are always timely. One time I was not crazy about the cut (no biggie, more of a style preference), I addressed it right away with the staff and they heard my concerns. I gave them another chance and was 100% pleased with the outcome. We adored Caitlin before she relocated and will be hoping to connect with another groomer who takes good care of our pup. The Dogspaw is great at making our dog comfortable, talking with him and easing him into the grooming appointment. I have never wrote a bad review. I do not like to put bad energy out there, but our experience at this groomer was so incredibly terrible, I feel like they do not deserve me keeping this to myself. This place is horrible. Starting with the woman who checked my dog in, who was extremely rude and impatient. We had specified how we would like to have his hair cut (he's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) so we like his legs, feet and tail hair kept longer, body shorter and as much of his ears left long as possible. We knew he had bad matting in his ears, but nothing more than he has had in the past and other groomers were always able to cut them out and leave the hair longer around it. They basically told my daughter that there was no way to do that and that if we kept his other hair longer he would look "stupid." My daughter called to tell me this and I immediately called them to speak to someone to discuss. No one picked up the phone. I tried over 15 times and left two messages. My daughter had to leave for work so I was left to just wait and see what would happen. 3+ hours went by with no phone call to let us know he was done. Again, I tried to call. No answer. My daughter just decided to go up there and they said he had been done for a while, but they had forgot to call us. The dog that went in and the dog that came out look nothing alike. They completely butchered him. We all cried he looks so awful. He won't even come out from under our bed he's that embarrassed. I finally received a call from the owner, Jeremy. Upon calling him back, he told me that this is what had to happen, did not offer any sort of apology, just kept telling me everything I shared about my experience was "good feedback." We were charged $140 to have our dog look completely horrendous. I asked "Are you going to offer compensation or a discount?" To which he said, "No, the services have been rendered and I will not be doing that." We will never be back. read more

I just moved to the area and needed a new place to take my pup for a nail trim. I drove by one day and decided to stop in. The lady that helped me was super nice and very patient with my little dog that hates getting a nail trim. I then decided later that day to book a grooming appt online. They were a little booked out, but that's pretty common. On the day of my dogs appt, I dropped her off and they asked what I wanted. I explained how i like her hair cut and they said I only selected a bath online (oops), but they would make it work. It ended up taking 3 hours, which was totally fine. When I picked her up she looked SO GOOD!! They did exactly what I asked for and she has never looked better. I asked how to book my next appt correctly and they told me it was noted in the system, so it should block out enough time next time I book online. Not to mention, totally reasonable pricing. Not impressed. My dog was trembling in her crate when I picked her up and got in the car to find blood in three different places on her leash. I understand cutting a nail short but she should have at least told me and attempted to clean up the blood. I'm not even sure it was my own dog's blood. The place was filthy and she left a dog unattended on the table while ringing me up. God forbid if the dog had tried to jump off the table with the leash on. I feel terrible for taking my dog there and won't ever go back even if it is cheap. read more

I interacted with the people via their online reservation system, on the phone and in person, everyone was great and as expected. I don't really have alot of special requests, just be nice to my puppy. she was a little tired and worn when we got home but there could have been other reasons. We took our two dogs here several times and they seemed happy when we brought them home. Last time we noticed that they really didn't want to enter, which was a red flag. When we got the dogs home they were acting strangely. One of our girls (our barker) didn't make a sound for two days. Our other girl hid behind the couch. We noticed that one of her nails had been cut into the quick. The other nails were left long. We think there may have been a new person working there because she overcharged us. The woman who helped me (short dirty blonde hair) was very pleasant. This was my puppies first hair cut. She explained to me what she'd be doing and if it was ok. I told her to do what she thought was best. Well, Luna looked great. Smells awesome! She only had her eyes, belly, legs, and nails done, but everything looks great.
