We rescued Brandy, a Shepard mix, from a shelter in July 2023. They could tell us nothing about her…read moreexcept she had been returned to the shelter at least once before. We took her home and thought she was the perfect dog...until we took her for a walk. She had horrible leash reactivity. We hired a trainer in September 2023, to fix Brandy's leash reactivity, after all our attempts at training her ourselves failed. The trainer came to our house once a week for an hour and instructed us how to train Brandy to walk, sit, stay, come, and place which he said were the necessary fundamentals. For the last visit he met us at a dog park but was unable to successfully teach us how to fix the leash reactivity. In October 2023 we brought our dog to Emily at Canine Balance Dog Training in Colfax, CA for just over 3 weeks for Behavioral Management training. When we got Brandy back in November 2023 the leash reactivity was gone! Plus she walks much better and her behavior in general has improved. She is now a very happy dog and we are very happy we didn't need to try to re-home her. I wish I could upload videos but I think the before and after pictures I've included speak for themselves. The before picture shows her mid jump as she barks at a passing dog while the after picture shows her wagging her tail as we pass another dog. I highly suggest you try Emily before you spend any money elsewhere...she is definitely worth it!

They gave plenty of updates of his progress including photos and videos and taught him so much. He uses his place cot seamlessly, is great on leash and is a much better listener with recall and such. We met with Weston for her assessment and during that 30 minutes we gained several valuable insights and were able to start working on a couple things. Since then, we had him out to the house for training and with his help our doggo is no longer running out the door. She is even staying in the garage with the door open. We are still working on certain distractions but it's so much better. The instructions were clear and simple. We also did a day of doggie daycare which she seemed to really enjoy and we got some cute pictures. Would definitely recommend.

We needed a replacement, a home that was open and inviting to make my dog the most comfortable. With Stacey and Steve, it's a fun vacation with new friends! He can be at 'home' with other dogs to help keep company. They sent lots of photos and in each one my dog looked the happiest he's ever been while I'm not around. They're really reasonable people and truly care for these pets, I would drive far to have my dog boarded with them again, they're that good.

They were clear in the beginning that they operate sepratelty and that was super helpful to know. The staff was super friendly and the kind- they were honest with us when it came to what could be done or what was needed for our pup and possible options for moving forward. My only complaint is that some of the front desk staff have a tendency to malinger and chat with you in the front. When I come in I am very open for small talk but there have been a couple of times I've come in and I felt like we were almost being held hostage with small talk. One day checkout took about 25 min, when it really should have taken half that. I simply just didn't have the time. I appreciate the friendliness, but I would also appreciate the social awareness as well. Just make sure you pad your appointment times with some extra time to chat as well.

Dr. Williams, thank you for your response to my recent review. You indicated in your response two…read morethings that I believe highlight my issues with your practice. 1. You prefer patients get medication at your clinic. So do I, you prescribed pregabalin for Tess that is hard to find, your clinic doesn't fill it and prices range from 300 down to 34. Chewy doesn't have it. All I needed was for your staff to ok the fill over the phone with no additional paperwork. This involved checking the prescription on the computer and authorizing it. They said no twice even after contacting a manager. 2. You were Charlie's PTP. You had all his records, ordered tests and handled some of his routine follow-up while he was being treated at UC Davis. We spent thousands of dollars at your clinic on Charlie for tests. UC Davis indicated within 5 minutes of me taking him there that he had a pronounced heart murmur. He had been seen at your clinic only one week before. I don't know if you listened to his heart, but Davis was very surprised that our vet had not caught the murmur. Charlie had endocarditis, we will never know if catching it earlier would have made any difference but the endless scans to his abdomen and numerous blood tests were financially very difficult and in the end heartbreaking and unnessary. I would have appreciated if some common sense could have been used given Tess" prescription as what you prescribed is not easy to obtain, and that a more thorough routine exam of Charlie could have been done prior to running expensive tests. These pets are loved family members. Thank you

She sent photos and updated me periodically and let me know when she was finished at my house. She was especially helpful dealing with my changing schedule in terms of how many times I needed her to drop in. It's so nice to finally have a dogsitter I can trust to keep my dogs safe and happy.
