You are given the pricing up front. The price we paid was quite reasonable, especially considering it's a licensed, insured, and bonded business with employees, vs random independent contractors. 2 different gals came to our house to care for our cats while we were gone - Amy and Payton. Both were prompt and took good care of our cats. Amy was exceptionally kind and stayed longer than she was booked for - just to play with our cats! We really appreciated this, since it was our first night away and I know our cats were feeling anxious. It was such a relief to have a business available to us to come to our house to take care of our animals! While I'm sure there are tons of great pet sitters on the various 3rd party pet sitting sites , we would've been too nervous. Being able to hire a business to send people to our house was a big relief! We will absolutely be using them again in the future.

She does pet sitting herself, but also set me up with a pet sitter in another town when I'm in that area. I was impressed with her contracted sitter during our meet and greet. When a last minute need for sitting in Placerville arose, I contacted Tamara and she was able to accomodate my request. Upon arrival I noticed that the facility was very well organized, safe and set up for multiple dogs. I noted that she is extremely experienced with dogs and well versed in behavior. She is very personable and walked me around and explained how her boarding works and the different areas for the dogs. Tamara made me very comfortable leaving my pet while I ran errands for the day. The facility is set up very well for overnight boarding too. My dog had a great time at Happy Tails with Tamara's Great Dane and other guests. I would definitely return. I also had the opportunity to leave my dog with Cheryl in Folsom and had a very positive experience. I appreciate the fact that Happy Tails is licensed and insured. Highly recommended.

Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode - Prices for cat adoption

My poor experience is specifically with the adoption coordinator at Citrus Heights Petsmart,…read moreMichelle Lee. My family and I just lost our dog to cancer and we weren't looking to adopt another pet, but happened by the cat adoptions at Petsmart while shopping for our other dog's food. We fell in love with a 2month old Scottish Fold named Artemis. We saw her once, went home to think about it, and then returned the next day to see she was still there. We inquired with the volunteer there, who told us to text the adoption coordinator, Michelle Lee. Michelle was very short over text, but encouraged us to put in an application. So we did. We still couldn't stop thinking of Artemis the next day, and we were getting more excited about what a good fit she'd be in our home. So we returned to the Petsmart to visit her. We met her foster mother, chatted, and learned more about her. The Foster mother was so lovely. She told us that adopting Artemis out had been "hard because of Michelle" then hushed as if she would get in trouble for saying even that much. Other volunteers also exchanged knowing glances. Nancy then reviewed our application, said there weren't any other suitable candidates, and encouraged us to text Michelle to set up an appointment to adopt Artemis the next day. Nancy also assured us that because our application was in, and that it was the only one, that Artemis would be on hold for us. They pulled her paperwork for us. We had every reason to believe she was on hold for us. We texted Michelle who did not respond for over an hour. So we went home. When she did text me back, she asked us to "go back adopt her." So we started to go back and then she started calling me, frantically, texting for me to answer the phone. I answered for a brief interview, answered her questions seemingly to her satisfaction, and she again, suggested she was fine with us adopting her, but she needed to call the volunteers at Citrus Heights. Ultimately she texted me back and said they would wait for a vet evaluation since she'd been sick recently and then "let me know." At no point did she indicate that we were not approved to adopt Artemis or that she would be going back on her decision for us to adopt her. The next day I sent a text asking how the vet appointment went and was ignored for two days. I sent another text and Michelle told me then that they were still deciding on a family and completely denied that she told me she was ours and to go adopt her. I pushed back and sent screenshots of our conversation and she just maintained that "there is a lot of interest" in Artemis and other volunteers "have no idea" what they're talking about. Two of my partner's decided then to visit the shelter and speak with Francie, the office manager, who I'm told was absolutely wonderful and compassionate. Shoutout to her, for being so lovely and kind. She'd arranged to have my partner's speak to Michelle in person to find out what exactly had happened. When Michelle arrived to the shelter an hour and a half past her designated shift time, she was apparently unable to be accountable and made several excuses for her behavior, including that she was over stressed and grieving a personal loss. She denied making statements she had made over text to me even when confronted with screenshots. Ultimately we learned that Michelle lied to us and had adopted Artemis out to another family. There was nothing that Francie could do to make things right. I do not recommend adopting from this agency at Citrus Heights, while Michelle is the adoptions coordinator. Please go instead directly to the shelter or to one of the other Petsmart/Petco Locations. You will be met with grief, as well as confusing, disorganized, discompassionate, behavior.

We have owned several pets over the years and have been to countless vets in their lifetimes and this is the absolute best vet care team we've EVER had. We have only been local to the area for a little over a year now (moved up from Southern California) but Dr. Robinson and the team have seen us more times that I would like to admit (surgeries, potential toxin ingestions, foreign bodies, broken teeth, you name it!) and each visit has been handled with an abundance of care and compassion. Dr. Robinson is a very shoot it straight kind of doctor who knows his stuff and you can tell he truly cares about his patients. Every tech and staff member at the front is incredibly kind and I am so at ease any time we have to make a visit to the vet knowing that they will be well cared for and then some. I feel the need to call out that we have a senior dog, about to turn 12 this month and he has been able to make it this long in life following a cancer diagnosis because of this team operating and removing a huge tumor in this mouth. Dr. Robinson then referred us to a trusted oncology team to take care of the rest. Having this time given to us with our aging boy is something I can never express my gratitude fully for, they gave that priceless gift to us. Thank you to EVERYONE at Missouri Flat for all the care you have given our babies over the last year and a half!

We had booked a private tour for his birthday to meet the rescue animals who call this beautiful place home. Yasmin met us at the entrance and, after swapping shoes for some solid boots, gave us a very honest, very real, and very important rundown of industrial agriculture. Now, I have to add, neither of us are vegan or even vegetarian, but Yasmin proved to be an actively non judgmental, compassionate host. She walked us through the grounds, addressing each animal by name, and was full of knowledge and insight! After the initial meet and greet, we were off! We hiked across the beautiful grounds and met tons of sheep (Jet loved my partner!) goats, and pigs; all of the animals roam freely, coming and going as they please. It was actually delightful how so many of the animals came up to say hi and hang out out of their own volition! We brought some grapes for the chickens and they LOVED them! But oh my god, the turkeys. Wow, just, two little friendly, fluffy orbs that floated around our party showing off while Yasmin gave us an informed and empathetic story about them. She did that at every habitat; letting us in, introducing us (by name!) to the boldest of the bunch, and explaining how they ended up at Animal Place. It was an entirely wonderful, enlightening experience. Also, fyi, turkeys are so soft. I cannot recommend this organization enough. 10/10, please give Conrad an extra treat for me!

Eden promptly responded to my initial email and patiently answered all of my questions. Each day Eden would post a photo on Facebook, so I could watch him grow and she was always available to talk on the phone if I wanted an update. Eden transformed my 3 month old puppy into a well-trained, well-socialized, very happy dog. My puppy knows how to come, sit, stay, leave it, drop it, shake, and walk on a leash. He now comes with me to work and is the best-trained dog in my office. Now that my puppy has graduated from board and train, I look forward to using Sierra Dogs as a boarding place. Dr. Raymond has saved my cat's life twice now…read more Last summer, her original vet told me to put her down. Instead, I got a second opinion from Dr. Raymond, and he saved her life. When I was calling animal hospitals back then, I was being quoted close to $2,000 a day just for hospitalization, not including treatment. Finding Dr. Raymond was honestly a blessing. Recently, I thought my cat was bloated, so I took her to her old vet because it was closer (by 3 hours). They did bloodwork and X-rays, then basically told me they didn't know what was wrong but that the prognosis was bad. The next day, I took her to Dr. Raymond and showed him the bloodwork and X-rays. He took one look and immediately knew it was pyometra and that she needed emergency surgery. No guessing. No waiting around. He knew exactly what was wrong. What really blows my mind is that I spent less on her emergency surgery with Dr. Raymond than I spent at the first vet, who couldn't even diagnose her. They even charged me for a radiologist to review her X-rays and then didn't call me back for 10 days. Ten days. Had I not taken her to Dr. Raymond, she could have died overnight. Getting that call 10 days later was infuriating. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I didn't know Dr. Raymond. He is incredibly knowledgeable, straightforward, and genuinely caring. When other vets have missed the mark completely, he has gotten it right. Twice. I trust Dr. Raymond with my cat's life because, quite literally, he has already saved it twice. And somehow he's managed to do it without bankrupting me in the process, which feels increasingly rare in veterinary medicine these days.
