I like this pet boarding and daycare. I left both my dogs there for 20 days and both of them returned home; calm and healthy. This is the first time doing overnight boarding and it's for a long stay. I highly recommend them. It's clean, staff are friendly and good follow-ups. I removed a star, so 4 stars instead of 5. One point of contention, when I picked up my dogs to settle the bill, a tip selection was included in the final bill. First, I have boarded my dogs in the past at other facilities, there has never been a tip requested when settling the bill. While I think the staff are very professional, the changes in staff and shifts precludes to make a tip as I do not know which staff actually worked with my dogs. The establishment should be paying their staff adequately as to not request a tip. As most groomers do get tips but no grooming service was used here, just boarding. read more

Ever since starting to come here 3 years ago I haven't regretted it. Tried a few places out to get a feeling of how my pup would enjoy it and this one just gave good vibes back and Hobbes (the Frenchbulldog) had the biggest smile ever after the 1st day. So glad I found this place as he lives coming to socialize and play with all his fur friends! Comes home tired and doesn't move for like 2-days...not sure if it's all the play and fun or just that he goes so hard with everyone but not disappointed on my end. I've been bringing my pups to Doggie District for over 5 years now. It started with our first pup, and now that he passed over the rainbow bridge recently and we have a new puppy, we are taking our new guy there too. We love DD and, most importantly, our dogs have always been SUPER excited to go play with their friends there. I love the staff... they are obviously dog lovers! Both of our pups run right to them as they burst through the front door. LOL! And they're always greeted with delight which makes ME smile. DD runs a responsible business as well. I LOVE THIS PLACE! And so does my pup Nike! We do daycare here and have also done overnight boarding. They always go above and beyond! My dog has sensitive skin and sometimes when they notice his skin is red they go as far as to put cream on him, which is not even part of their job, but they do it because they care. Everyone is so sweet, they know my dog by name... and every time I'm there I notice they know EVERYONE'S dog by name. My dog loves it and he gets excited every time we pull up! I've heard horror stories about other places, but we've had the best experience here. I used to take my dog to PetSmart and while they were nice there, the dogs play inside in such a small room. The service at Doggie District in Paradise Valley is nothing short of exceptional. I had to board a very scared, "rescue" Mastiff, Fiona Bella, with several medications and a bandaged open wound. The Resort Manager, Tera, stayed late to check her in and give her medications as well as to calm her down. Kallie, Erin and Ana gave extra care in brushing, walking and feeding her, as well as "cuddle time". Stacey, the trainer came to look in on her and ensure that she was adapting and comfortable. Man I can't say enough good things about this place. I was nervous to bring my new puppy somewhere but knew I couldn't leave him at home all day so i took him here on the recommendation of a friend. They walked me around and showed me the place and said he had to go through orientation to make sure he was a good fit with the other dogs and vice versa which i think is great. He was accepted and now loves coming here. We pull up and see the big dog out front and Dre starts crying he's so anxious to get out of the car. They all know him by name when he comes and he loves everyone there. They do adorable parties and send pictures of him and he passes out that night when he gets home he's played so hard. If I can't be with him, I'm glad he can be here! read more

This is the best doggy daycare ever. They don't have restrictions on breeds, they give all dogs a chance. They have the best trainer who makes sure all the attendants are trained and know how to care for dogs. All my dogs love being there. I've been bringing my dog here on and off for about two years. I've always been satisfied with the service and my dog LOVES coming here. They offer day care packages and will frequently have themed extra play time as an add on option. The extra play time has consisted of pictures with Santa, ice cream parties, scavenger hunt, and chicken and waffles day. They include a picture and an email recap with a digital copy of the picture. They also frequently post photos on Facebook. Even though they give the dogs breaks during the day my dog always comes home tired and she's no couch potato. I don't know if they've been under new management but there have definitely been positive changes over the past year. The staff is highly engaged, the lobby has been spruced up and I've also noticed private training sessions occurring in the lobby. read more

We recently just toured this place and I would NEVER let my dog go here. We went around noon on the weekend and the girl took us through where the dogs were kept. First off all the lights were off when we walked in and the dogs were just sitting in the dark. It was freezing in there and had no outside light coming in. The dogs looked so scared and miserable I felt like crying. Some big dogs were put into a tiny little box kennel, not even enough room to turn around. Then she took us to the "dog suites" which instead of a box the dogs were in a glass kennel with TVs (that weren't on). Besides all the dogs looking absolutely terrified and cold, I saw no water or food for them. One of the dogs was in a large metal kennel in the middle of the floor with nothing to lay on and was just shaking. I feel SO bad for any dog that would have to spend time in this type of hell hole. read more

We previously had our 3 dogs stay at Doggie District a year ago & it had a completely different vibe this time when we walked in . First of all the gals at the front counter seemed irritated by us being there & we're not friendly at all. Next , the frantic barking & growling we heard coming from the kennel area ignited concern in both my husband and myself. We told them we would decide if we would board them at Doggie District later in the week & that we would look into a sitter from Rover.com. They could have cared less & seemed thrilled to not have to deal with any customers anymore . Always very friendly and attentive, and well aware that I don't want them to get lonely when boarding them, but can't afford to spend a bunch of money. I found out about this place through a friend when I relocated to paradise valley and I'm so happy I did! My chocolate lab, Sedona, is my world and she absolutely loves coming to play. We've been taking our chihuahua here for daycare since he was a puppy (he's 5 now). We've also brought a few of our former foster dogs to daycare for socialization and it was so helpful!! Our foster fail Pogo started going to daycare once a week for the past year and a half and he also loves it. In all honesty there was a short time period where we noticed turnover to be slightly higher then expected but the current staff and management team are really awesome. We don't do boarding here only because we have someone stay at our house when we travel. read more

I drive 10 miles out of the way to another doggy daycare that is open 24/7 I work crazy hours so everyday I have to bring her in, she loves going to doggy day care and I have no complaints but doggy district is my first choice for location and reviews. Update: Received a call from Doggie District, saying that they need to hose down the play area so that it is safe for the dogs during the summer. Also acknowledged my concern that Captain was not properly cleaned before sending him home. Therefore, I am updating the review (and stars) to reflect that Doggie District responded to me within the day of my complaint. I appreciate the prompt communication and the fact that they understood why I was disappointed. Hope to change this review to 5-stars in the future. Original: I want to start off by saying that usually I am very pleased with Doggie District. I drop off my dog, Captain, there regularly because of the level of customer service, the option for all day play (which Captain loves), and updates on how he's doing. This last boarding experience (7 days), however, was a disappointment. Usually Captain comes home extremely clean. This time he came home filthy. What is troubling is that for the price of a human hotel, they did not bother giving him a bath. I usually don't opt for grooming since I give him baths myself, but I have no idea how long he was in such a state for, which is definitely not healthy for any pet. To quote Doggie District's website, "Dog grooming is one of your dog's basic needs and an important part of dog ownership." So basically a premium boarding facility completely failed at providing my pet with one of his basic needs, I find this completely unacceptable. I would expect that Captain got messy under your care, that the least you could do for him is a complimentary shampoo bath. After all if the mess is at your facility, isn't it your responsibility to clean it up? If that is expecting too much, how about a phone call saying, "Hi, sorry Captain got messy, would you like for us to clean him up before you arrive?" I'm disappointed because I have experienced great service in the past, and this time it seems they did not bother to correct such an obvious issue. Coincidentally, my car seats now also require cleaning, making this the most expensive stay by far. Furthermore, this experience unfortunately makes me no longer believe that Doggie District cares about providing repeat customers with continued excellent service, but as a paycheck. If you want your dog treated like you treat your best friend, then this is the place to go. The people are super helpful and friendly. They remembered me and my dog's name after the first day. They make sure your dog finds the right play group and even make sure they help your buddy find a "friend" to play with. Other places I've taken my dogs, they pull back when we get there, but at doggie district, my dog is really happy to go and comes back incredibly happy and sleeps well that night. Also, look at the calendar for special events and doggie parties. I'll never go anywhere else. read more

Our "kidz" needed a place to stay, which we felt was safe, clean, and they would love coming too. The process is important to ensure the animals get along. Then the "kidz" went for an interview. They passed and so our relationship began. Next we left them for 4 days. We got an email from the "kidz" and a picture, then they posted pictures to Facebook! We used them another trip and a day visit. We feel comfortable that our "kidz" are well cared for and don't have to worry about them. We send our dog for daycare and also board her here. She comes back happy and tired which shows that she had been busy playing the whole time. The staffs are very friendly, and they know your dog by their name. The reason that I am giving them one star less is because they do not post frequent updates of all the dogs on FB. Once when we boarded her for 5 days, we did not receive any posts of our girl on facebook, and the daily report card that we got just had one picture which did not give us any clue as to what was going on. I love that they have an orientation/review of your dog BEFORE you can actually have them stay there. Our dog was happy at pick up from both the orientation and his first stay (he had never been left at a boarding facility in his 12 years). The price was reasonable. They have a back yard situation so you know they aren't in a kennel all day. We packed more than enough food for his 24 hour stay but didn't get any of it back. This is probably the only negative. (And yes we know he didn't eat it all he fell into his bowl at home like he had never seen a meal LOL.) oh and we got an adorable pic to boot during his day...this made us less worried. read more

When initially dropping my dogs off for boarding memorial day weekend I was pleased. Booking was easy and the staff was friendly. The day after I brought my dogs home I noticed TICKS EVERYWHERE! Neither of my dogs have ever had ticks, fleas, anything! After giving them some sentrypro thinking maybe they came from outside I noticed them in my car on the blanket my babies laid on during the ride home. For the past few days I've been finding more and more ticks dead and alive. I've called the facility and the only answer I'm getting via email and over the phone is we'll have a manager call you. It's safe to say that I will NOT be taking my dogs to a doggy district location ever again. Especially if they 1. Never noticed during my dogs "play time" and 2. Don't pay enough attention to their facilities to keep the animals they're housing safe and healthy. Especially for paying damn near 300 dollars for this experience. read more
