I took my dog, Saylor, to Doggie Do's today for the first time and had the most amazing experience. Christa gave my dog a "Complete Bath" and was so kind. When I first walked in she told me that they treat their dogs "like their own" and that's exactly how I felt throughout this entire experience. My dog is not typically fond of being groomed, so it was so nice to know she was with someone who wanted to make her feel as safe and comfortable as possible. I Scheduled an appointment through yelp in less than 2 minutes at 11pm, my appointment was set for the next day!!! I loved they knew who I was, heather is my go to Groomer (although all the staff is extremely professional and friendly). I was told Heather is now working at the new location, i was informed the new location is bigger and offers the option of kennels or kennel free! I can't rave enough about doggie do's! Moved to La Mesa early this year and needed to find a new groomer. Reeeally was hoping I would like this place as it's literally across the street. Brought my dog in and was greeting by tons of dogs of all sizes m, rather than a staff member. After waiting a bit, was finally greeted. The woman that checked us in was really nice but her mind seemed to be preoccupied with something else..it didn't seem like she was listening when I told her what I wanted. It was kind of busy so I brushed it off. Nervously, I left my dog there for her cut and left. My dog, who is well socialized and normally LOVES other dogs, looked TERRIFIED. TBH I think it was just too much going on in such a small enclosure. Anyway, her hair cut was horrible. She is a cockapoo but her cut was so short she had no fluff left. And they shaved the fur around her eyes so short to the point you can see skin and it was slightly red and irritated. I felt so bad for my dog. The prices are great and as convenient as the location is for us, unfortunately we won't be back. read more

I found Doggie Dos from the recommendation of a friend, and I'm so grateful for them! They do the best job and are less expensive than many places to work with my dog's difficult golden doodle coat. His undercoat mats easily and can be difficult, but he always comes out looking fresh and clean, and they are gentle to be sure not to pull too hard or shave too close . Lacey always takes such good care of my Sherman, is excited to see him, and gets him in quickly when I call for an appointment. He always comes out happy and looking great. He gets a lot of dirt and oil buildup in his ears, and she cleans them very well, which is a difficult but important job to keep him healthy and out of the vet's office. He is a BIG dog (about 100 lbs) and they keep him comfortable and safe. So glad we found Lacey and Doggie Dos! read more

Based on the reviews I decided to give this place a try for my 2 four legged friends. I called and they scheduled us in right away the same day and that was great I dropped them off in a hurry. The reason for 1 star review is because when I called them they gave me a price which I thought was fair. Once I got there they changed the price on me by approx $15 more. I asked them why, and one of the ladies simply said to me oh well she's new and unfortunately misinformed you. I was like you know what I'm already here! Things didn't stop there money wise. After picking them up later in the afternoon they changed the price on me again for the third time and now the price was over $100 for a pug and a chihuahua. Wow! These people are unbelievable! My boy absolutely loves coming here. Every-time we pull into the parking lot he is wagging his tail and running straight to the door. They always take their time on him. He tend to get lots of matted hair behind his ears and they always find a way to get it off without having to shave a lot off. read more

My experience here was beyond HORRIBLE. I had gone here a few times and had a fine experience... however this time, my poor Pomeranian was beyond traumatized! They cut his nails to the quick and denied cutting them! His nails are non existent now and he can not walk still, after four days. I dropped off a happy and healthy dog and picked up my dog who was terrified and so skiddish I could barely hold him. I didn't understand why he was so unhappy at first but after a quick trip to my vet, he verified his nails were cut to the quick and the girl denied even cutting them! (I suppose I cut them?) She admitted shaving the pads for "traction" which I never asked for... I see a lot of other reviews saying they do not know how to handle long haired dogs and this couldn't be more true! I am only writing this review because I do not want any dog mom or dad to endure why I had to. My poor pup is on bed rest and I brought in the new year crying. When I reached out to Lacey who did this, she kept telling me my pup was fine (he was / is far from fine) and told me I had mentioned his back legs had issues prior to the appointment. Would I of dropped off a sick dog to be groomed!? No. If my pup was sick in any way, grooming would be the last thing on my mind. The vet would be where I would be heading to. The owner was much kinder, but also denied doing anything wrong to my baby. I dropped off a happy, healthy dog and now four days later, he still can't walk with out being in extreme pain and is still on bed rest. Another thing that I don't like about this place is, they let their dogs go potty anywhere and just pick it up and no sanitizing is done! I asked if my dog had gone potty while their (due to the fact I dropped him off and picked him up six and a half hours later and he wouldn't go potty, now I know cause he was in pain) and she responded with something close to, I don't know, all the dogs poop and I just pick it up, I don't know if he did or not. I feel terrible for my Pomeranian that can't go for his usual walks or trips to the park. He is in bed rest and can barely go to the bathroom with out sitting down and propping his back two legs up and biting at them. He is depressed and I feel terrible. His nails are non existent in the back, yet they denied cutting them.... if you love your dog, do not take them their!! You may have one to two good experiences but it's just time til you have an experience like I have. No wonder my dog was always terrified when leaving their. This place is not sanitary by any means and has WAY TOO MANY DOGS IN SUCH A LITTLE PLACE. I would not want a dog lover/owner, as myself, to go through this..... I am bringing in the new year with a dog who can't walk and is depressed. I wish I would've read the reviews here before bringing him in, I see another person wrote that their dog was terrified and traumatized when picking them up. When I walked up to get my dog he was in the window, shaking. I just can't get over this due to the fact my dog is still not okay and the way Lacey kept telling me how fine my dog is! Does he look fine in the after picture? Why would I be wasting my time if my dog was fine!? Please if you love your dog do not take them here! It's only time until your dog gets hurt as mine did. read more
