I want to preface this review by saying we have always had an amazing experience with the groomers at Floof for the YEARS we have come here. I am taking down my 5 star review to replace it with this one. Our German Shepherd has anxiety which we have always been upfront about and is listed in her notes. However, we have always gotten feedback that she has been a perfect angel here during prior sessions. Today, I had the most horrid experience with the owner. Typically, the grooming sessions take 1.5 hours - 2 hours, but the groomer told me she was running 10-15 minutes late. I came in after 2 hours and 15 minutes, and let them know I hadn't received a text message but figured she would be done soon. The owner went back and informed me it would be an additional hour. I expressed concern (as again, my dog has anxiety and this has been thoroughly communicated to her and her team). She mentioned that they had to lock my dog in an isolation room for an hour due to concerns with other dogs. This was not communicated to me, nor was the delay in service communicated to me. I would have happily taken my dog to another groomer if she was unable to be serviced today rather than have her isolated in a room for an extensive period without my knowledge. I was expressing concern and feedback of the lack of communication and proper follow up by the owner in hopes other clients would not have this experience. This was not an accusation but rather genuine worry and concern for my dog with anxiety. Unfortunately, the owner was extremely defensive, so I decided to leave and wait elsewhere for my dog to be done. When I came to pick up my dog, I only addressed the groomer and in a calm and kind manner. However, the owner intervened and was rude to me and told me the service was on her, after I was ready and happy to pay and tip the groomer. She let me know we would not be welcome back and to remove myself and my dog immediately. I was incredibly frustrated and did react to her rude behavior and unprofessional manner. If it was not clear before she said that, I was NEVER planning to return and support this woman's business or allow my dog with anxiety to be left alone in the care of a woman who clearly does not know how to take accountability or communicate appropriately with owners of dogs with anxiety. read more

Had an amazing experience with Julius at FLOOF the first time we brought our golden retriever, so we decided to come back. This most recently groom by Hondo is making us reconsider bringing our dog elsewhere. This groom was shorter than her first one (2hrs vs the 3.5hrs) and definitely looks rushed. Upon further inspection when we got home, I noticed her tail was cut super blunt, her paws were trimmed terribly, and her ears were left untrimmed. I had gone back to the store and asked whether my dog was acting up during the groom, leading to these mistakes - especially with the paws. Hondo said she was great, but she was lifting her paws. An apology was said but we're just super disappointed with our experience this time especially since it was $140 + tip. read more

Oh wow, Hobie, our terrier mutt really let his hair out and was needing a spring cut. Floof is our go to groomer that always takes extra care of our little fella. When we get in there for our appointment they always ask us questions on our and Hobies preferences. They keep their establishment super clean for filing in countless pups per day (PPD). When we come back to pick up Hobie he is happy as can be! They treat him very well and always send him off with a picture and a little bandana! Took my 5 month mini goldendoodle puppy here for her first full groom and we cannot be happier with how it turned out! My puppy has gotten a puppy cut once before but we did not like that place. I love Floof because they spend one on one time with your pup all the way through. Compared to the first place we went for a puppy cut (just bath and their face/paws/sanitary areas) it took 4 hours. For my puppy's full groom this time took 1.5 hours. Nate was wonderful! I asked for a round face and 1/2 of her length cut off and they did exactly that. I was nervous about her first groom since I thought she would look so different but I am completely in love with how she looks!! And her cute fluffy ears!! The salon is nice and clean and has tons of cute doggy goods. And Floof is in such a good location so when your pup is getting groomed you can walk Greenlake or get a bite to eat and after take your pup for a well deserved walk! When they finished they texted us when she was ready and also gave us stickers from her little photoshoot! SO CUTE! And also a few poop bags. Just thought that was so thoughtful and a nice touch. I brought my dog Mouse here for the first time today and I am totally impressed! Mouse is a 9 year old chihuahua that I adopted in the beginning of the pandemic, being a rescue I want him to have the most socializing as he can handle so treating him to a spa day every month. Due to scheduling conflict with his previous groomer I decided to take him to Floof and I'm very impressed! The salon in itself is very clean and so cute and the staff was really friendly. Mouse had been overdue for his nail trim and they said they've handled worse. For a chihuahua they book out an hour and a half and I appreciate that they took the whole time to really go off of Mouse's comfortableness and don't overwhelm him by rushing. I really appreciate that Mouse's groomer Ian came out to talk with me afterwards to let me know how everything went and that the more Mouse comes in they more comfortable he will get. I really appreciate that they use a fear free groom method as well. Mouse now has a new grooming home :) read more

Pandemic has been hard on many but especially groomers in my experience. Baci's first groomer retired young/ left her job due to the violent homeless outside her work ( right downtown seattle vet on 3rd Ave, by pike place market). First they were closed due to covid for a long while, then she left. My long fluffy hair doodle needed grooming bad! Then we found one in west seattle, 2 hours driving in drop off and pick up each month ( bridge closed), much longer grooming appointments too since they do multiple dogs at once. We were happy for Baci till they went out of business abruptly!The same day we had our appointment no less. I was ready to follow that same groomer to Olympia.. till I found this place! Thank god we don't have to travel for grooming, literally. Floof is such a pretty spot. It was pretty hard getting an appointment at first but once we got it, it's been great. It's right on green lake, always busy.They also offer cbd infused treats to calm your pets. They are a lot more expensive than the groomers we've had before. Before they were $90-$110, now it's about $165 each time.But Baci comes back pretty and healthy so it's worth it. Alex was the groomer we first met, we've stayed with him since. Baci seems to like him too :) They also sell toys, treats, beds etc. They have a lot of groomers/ grooming stations too. We've found them while we were in south lake union, now we live in downtown Bellevue. We still make a trip for it. And I love that we get a little photo at the end! Went in for a walk in nail trim and a self wash for my pup. Was able to get my dog right in for a nail trim with a job well done. The gentleman that assisted me up front was super friendly and thorough with information regarding pricing and processes. Pricing seems to be around what a normal groom in the area is. However, they only give a "range" for each breed, which I find to be a bit unfavorable. I would prefer a set price. My dog is a short haired dachshund mix so I don't have to deal with much of the "grooming" concerns in dog care so I can't speak much for it. The reason for the 4-stars is for the inconvenience of specifically visiting their facility for a self wash which, to my dismay, they unfortunately do not offer anymore. It wasn't indicated anywhere on their website - in fact it was still mentioned as available. No parking lot so street parking is always hit or miss. read more

Their grooming services are good, and the staff has generally been friendly. But, they have poor communication on their policies and expectations. They charged us a $60 late fee, even though they never communicated expectations of strict pick up times. They gave us a 4 hour estimate, but were done in 2 hours and expected us to pick up the dog then. They texted us to tell us there would be a fee with a 15 minute time window. Never asked for confirmations. Never called. And, definitely did not communicate this before the appointment or when we first set up our account. If policies are so strict, that should be communicated ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. Will not come back. read more

I can't say enough about Floof! I am so glad they are open now. I've had my pup for about a year now, and her previous groomer's was so hard to make an appointment with (I had to leave about 3 voicemail messages just to get a call back), and I stopped going after I found they used clippers on her coat. She's a Pomeranian, and if you don't know, clippers can not only leave an uneven trim but also damage their protective undercoat. With COVID it's been so hard to find a new place to take her so I've just been holding off. I was able to get an appointment with Floof online very easily, and when the day of the appointment arrived and I had car troubles they were super accommodating when pushing the appointment time back. They were done in under an hour and a half -- at the old place I'd have to drop her off at 9 am and not get her back until they closed at 5 pm! I was a little nervous as I couldn't see any other work they had done with Poms -- most of their clients seem to be poodles, terriers, ect. But Jesse, the groomer, asked some great questions before the appointment to make sure the cut would turn out perfect, and it did. She paid a lot of attention to detail, and for $80 it was well worth the cost. Plus I got some adorable photos to take home too which was a great surprise. My dog was also much more comfortable in the space than she normally is at a groomers, and you can tell they really care about their clients (furry and not!). Such a positive experience! Millie is a 9 month old sheepadoodle who (because of quarantine) was never able to begin grooming at an earlier age so she can now be quite the diva. Brought a new foster dog to Floof in Magnolia for a grooming. He is a malamute shepherd cross, 130 lbs, and has been severely neglected. He was full of matts and dreadlocks. His nails were overgrown. And the smell, oh the smell. Whatever you are imagining, it was worse. The staff was kind, supportive, and nonjudgmental. They spent many hours patiently dematting, brushing, cleaning, trimming, and loving on him. They even stayed late and gave me tips on tools to keep his sizable mane and long coat glowing. I had to change my review from a 5 star to a 4 due to the waiting area having a ton of dog hair on the floor. I was discussed because I brought my chihuahua to her her nails cut but I also brought my 3lbs toy Yorki with me. She had dog hair on her fur and leash. I probably should have asked them to give her a bath I ended up giving her one. Also the girl at the register didn't wash her hands when she took my chihuahua back and put her hand toward my dogs face which she licked My first visit was with my toy Yorki and she looked amazing when I picked her up! Her fur was soooo soft. It is a bit more expensive than Petco, PetSmart but with the shelter in place and covid my baby needed grooming bad. Once my Yorki took her pony tail off of course that area was longer than the rest but she hates pony tails so I'll have to trim that area since it was too long and falls down to her cheek area I have mixed emotions about coming back esp with covid.
