Baci has now gone here 3 times and each time he comes out cuter! Baci is an 8 month old Coton De Tulear and the sisters don't recommend cutting his hair yet. Took my dog in this morning without an appointment to get his nails trimmed and was told they usually don't do it in the morning only in the afternoon. they were so nice and did it anyways. This is the best dog grooming salon ever. We have always brought our dogs here and they always leave smelling and looking amazing. Their coats super shiny. When Lola was a pup they would even wash her while I waited (due to a lack of vaccines). Their drop-off washes in the morning means we don't need an appointment either. My Little shih-zhu chewy loves going to doggie styles. He is three now and has been going here since he was 5months old. As much as he dislikes the water and bathtime he loves going here. These kindhearted sweet women are so good with animals. They make all the dogs feel so special they are always look so happy in there. And when chewy comes out he may as well be laughing because he is happier than a lark. I would trust no one else to groom my dog because I know these women care for him like he was their own. We've been taking out 9-year-old golden here for the past year. They always do a great job, are flexible with fitting us in and Miles is always happy when he comes home. Based on dog trainer/behavior specialist recommendations, I started bringing clients' dogs here for grooming appointments after being dissatisfied with other local groomers. I feel so comfortable when I drop off my dog for his grooming because the owners are so caring and considerate. I'm not sure why this place is so popular. They forget to cut dog's nails, My dogs ears are never cleaned out and it takes a month to schedule a haircut. They are not very organized, you can forget about getting a call back to confirm the appointment in advance, they refuse to do it. Sadly, I was in a rush when i booked my last appt and misplaced the note i wrote it on( my fault). So, I had to drop dog off for just a bath when it desperately needed a haircut. I took my dog in and asked if they could locate my haircut appointment and They couldn't even find the appointment! They said they woudl find it and call me, they didn't so i called back and they said you missed it it was yesterday! Now you must wait a month for another haircut. I think this keeps peoeple coming in morre often for more baths in between haircuts which means more $$ for them. This place is a bit a bit dumpy and not very clean.. my dog came home with fleas:( I've see them leave dogs on the grooming table 1/2 groomed while they stop and have LONG chats with customers. They can't chat and groom at the same time I guess. Their drop off bath service with no appt is convenient if that is all you need. I'm going to try SPOT in Mill Valley, its an adorable place and I get my hair done at Milvali right next door at the same time :) I'll let y'all know how that goes. read more

I brought my little 10 pound dog here based on the review here on Yelp. She had NEVER been clipped as I always washed her myself in the sink until I had recently become disabled. My poor little dog's head was cut open with clippers and it was bloody about 1/2 inch wide right in the middle of the top of her little head! It was a fresh cut as well as you could clearly see the hair had been cut right at the alignment of the cut. I called the shop immediately upon returning home. The purpose of bringing her to get washed was to make life simpler for me with my disability. They asked that I bring her back and told me that they would be pissed if I didn't. I was double-teamed lied to by both women running the shop. I was told that it was an old wound and that someone else must have cut her. I explained repeatedly that I did not EVER trim her as she was a puppy, that I live alone and that they could say whatever they wanted it was clear to me that they were responsible. They changed their story twice saying that they saw the cut when she was brought in. They also said the groomer told them that he saw the cut when she was brought in. They charged a $35.00 charge for a tiny dog to wash and I had tipped them. I asked for my money back. I was being tag teamed with them telling me I was wrong. I told them I was bringing her to my vet. They then said they were not going to tell me what I should do for treatment for her since I was bringing her to the vet. I brought her to Tamalpais Pet Hospital. Kaylee observed the cut and inspected it and TOTALLY AGREED with me that it was a fresh cut and it was related to shears of some sort due to the hair being missing at the cut line. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and find somewhere else to bring your pet. They will lie to your face and never take responsibility for their actions. I give them a MINUS ONE STAR for being outright liars. Perhaps their story is one they use on other dogs they injure. If there is anything you can do to protect your dog, then don't bring them there. One day this could happen to your little sweetheart and I'm sure you'll get the 20 minutes of what you have done wrong not them. This is a total disgrace! I'm still disturbed to this day. Her head is not finally healing six days later. It looks quite different than the wound that would open when I picked her up. read more

I've taken my 8-year-old golden retriever, Lucy, to Doggie Styles for nearly all of her life. Lucy is my 12th dog and needless to say, I've been to many groomers. Melinda and Janine are far and away the best I've ever used. .Their prices are very reasonable and the icing on the cake is that they are extremely nice people. I recently moved from San Rafael to Pollock Pines and am still taking Lucy to Doggie Styles -- a nearly 300-mile round trip that is well worth it. Yes, they're that good. read more

So disappointed that I don't even want to give them one star. Took my dog for 9 am appointment. The groomer was working on one dog and there was another dog in there. They told me he will be ready at about 11: 30 or 12:30 the latest. At 1:00 still no call. Went there and front desk staff said 2:30. 5 hours and a halph when there was only one dog ahead of mine. This was not the first time, but sure last time that they did this to me. I will never ever take my dog there again. read more

I guess I'm just adding to the accolades for Doggie Styles, but the truth is they're just great. They do a great job, they're sensitive to dogs AND to owners, are mellow and pleasant, yet attentive and careful -- remarkable. We had never taken our dog to a groomer and after 15 months her hair was severely matted -- to the point of hair-walnuts in various parts of her body. They were straight with us -- she had to be shaved so we could basically restart from zero -- and despite our great trepidations about how it would turn out, how our little dog would handle it, etc., it turned out really well. They prepared us for what was required, then did much better than we expected. Nice good people, highly recommended, even in difficult cases like ours. read more

Would not provide service for my recent rescue dog! Refused to cut her nails, and told me to go to a self-service place when I want to give my dog a bath. She said it in a friendly way, "Save your money!" but the message was clear. My dog was absolutely friendly, quiet, and respectful when we walked in the store. And so was I! Either they don't like rescues, or didn't like the breed of dog I have. She warned me that my dog be a bit noisy when I bathed her "because she has Husky in her". She was wrong. My dog is the quietest dog around, even during a bath. They lost easy money from me. Would not recommend this place at all! read more

Our dogs have gone to Doggie Styles for years. Everyone is friendly and relaxed. Our dogs are short haired so I've never had to schedule cuts, but one of our dogs is a heavy shedder and they do a great job brushing him after his weekly wash.
