Our pup Winnie finally had her trial day here today (Tuesday) and we've been happy with our experience so far! We wanted Winnie to have her trial day this week since we're planning to board her this weekend while we're out of town. We met both Jennifer and Jake (the owners) and they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful! I called on Monday to schedule our trial day and Jennifer emailed me the paperwork right away. I was thrilled we were able to get Winnie in the next day! Some things that stood out to me: they have someone stay overnight at the facility with the dogs when you board them. This makes me feel more comfortable leaving Winnie with them! They also ask that you bring 1. Extra food and 2. Something that smells like home to make your dog more comfortable (only when boarding). That way if an emergency arises and they end up needing to keep your pup longer, it's no problem! Even the part timers were great with Winnie and seemed to genuinely love dogs. We were worried about leaving her for the trial day, but the guy who was there when we picked her up said she did great, which we were happy about. After her trial day I feel more comfortable leaving Winnie in their capable hands. Thank you for making this dog mom feel more at ease about leaving her fur baby! read more

I'm a bit overdue writing this review. We used DoggieWorks for the first time back in March for boarding. Since moving to Chicago a little over a year ago this was our first need for boarding. We went for a visit prior to our boarding and Jenn was so welcoming. She gave us a full tour and it was immediately clear that this was the place for us. Their kennels were the most spacious we encountered. Jenn and the entire team at DoggieWorks were outstanding. They really make you feel welcome and took a genuine interest in our little one. Drop-off was very easy. My flight home was delayed and they were so accommodating when I needed to extend the stay by one night. Pickup was also easy and it was evident that they took exceptional care of our pup. I can only imagine he had a blast playing with the daycare dogs -- he slept the rest of the day when we got home. This place is amazing!! I was nervous to board our 11 month old Maltese puppy for a few days but I couldn't be happier with doggieworks! They gave him lots of love and personal attention, making sure to group him with dogs of his same temperament and size. They have lots of different areas for the dogs to run, play, and rest. This is not only a daycare or a place to board your fur babies, groomers, and dog walking service; they are part of our community and all staff treat you like family. We adopted a Pit mix during Covid and were a little apprehensive if daycares would accept him. Jen, the owner, took the time to get to know Gordy (our pup), worked with him to learn his behavior to assure needs and safety are met. I feel extremely safe leaving my dog with others dogs and the lovely staff. They even bathe and cut his nails (extra fee) which is super convenient. We have now been going there for almost a year and Gordy could not be happier, he comes home and naps for days :) Jen also trained us and our dog and the results are astonishing. During Covid especially, all dogs and owners need to establish boundaries and Jen taught us how to lovingly obedience our dog. Initially, we really liked Doggie Works for our pup. We brought him there a couple of times for Day Care and it went exceptionally well. We, then boarded him there for 8 days. 3 days into our trip I called Doggie Works, and received a very positive report on how my pup was doing, and that he was enjoying other dogs. The last day of our trip, I called again and spoke to Jake. He informed me that my pup "showed aggression" toward another dog, so they isolated my dog. Jake mentioned we would discuss it when I pick my pup up. I have had my dog around other dogs in an overnight situation, and in the neighborhood, dog parks et. He has never shown any aggressive behaviors, actual quite the opposite. He tends to back away if another dog is approaching. Let me be clear; I completely understand and support that the staff has to maintain safety of all the dogs in their care. I understand the isolation, I don't understand the circumstances for which my dog was labeled aggressive, and essentially I was told that Doggie Works will not be able to accommodate day care for us. I picked my pup up, and Jake was working that day. He told me my dog bit another dogs ear but did not puncture it. He did not include any details, and was not able to answer my questions. I asked if I needed to cover a vet bill, and he declined. It was an uncomfortable exchange, and I felt not handled well at all. When I got home I noticed that my dog was straining to bark, and hacking, snuffling, and snorting. He, also had bite a bite mark on the back of his inner leg, and at the top of his head. His behavior was very unusual and he was extremely timid. I thought he might have kennel cough and I have managed that before. After 3 weeks, my dog was still hacking, and snuffling. We visited the vet. She doubted he had kennel cough because it would be resolved at this point. She mentioned that when someone grabs a dog's collar with a lot of force, it is possible to temporarily damage the trachea. I was given meds for his cough, and told to watch him after blood work and x-rays were done. He continues to hack, and strain when he barks. The vet also identified two "bite marks" on his back leg, and the top of his head. Needless to say, I will never use this business again. read more

Very rarely do I feel comfortable leaving my boston terrier with other people, but as soon as I met Jenn ..my worries completely disappeared. I left my dog Buster with them for a week, while I was on vacation in Orlando. They were kind enough to offer Buster homemade treats from their onsite bakery. They also sent me pictures of him while I was away, so I can see how he was doing. DoggieWorks is simply amazing! We live in Roscoe Village and I had been on the hunt for a good dog walking service, however, I wanted a company that was flexible, that wouldn't require me to commit to 3 days/week minimum, etc. With DoggieWorks, the price is great and the best part is that you can sign up for walks as you need. I usually use them once or twice per week and don't feel like I have to commit to a certain schedule, I just book them when I need them. Our walkers Jake and Megan are wonderful! Our dogs absolutely loves them. They scan in each time they get to our home to let me know the walk has started. Each walk is 25 mins long and they scan out when they are done and leave a note on their web portal about the walk. Their online booking and walk reports are such great tools. Recently, right before leaving for work, my dog threw up and seemed pretty under the weather, I was nervous about leaving him at home alone all day, so that morning, even though I didn't have any walks scheduled, I was able to text over there and last minute was able to get Jake to come over two times that day to check on our little guy and he texted me updates each time! Jake and his team are AWESOME. We have been using the DoggieWorks walking service for our 1-year old lab mix, Penny, since September 2015. Not only is the pre-paid walk package affordable (40 walks for $416), scheduling walks is so simple through the online request system. There have even been a few days that we forgot to schedule a walk, and all we had to do was text Jake and he was incredibly accommodating. Additionally, Penny suffered a broken leg in December 2015, and Jake and his team were amazing. She wasn't able to go on walks during her recovery, so the walker would stop by to let her out and just play/hang out with her, then let us know how she was doing. As an overly concerned (borderline crazy) dog mom, I greatly appreciated their caring attitude towards Penny! I really can't say enough wonderful things about these guys. DoggieWorks has been taking care of my dog, Denver, since last summer and it's the best investment I've ever made. They are wonderful with boarding and the kennels they provide are spacious and also secure. You can also bring toys or blankets or anything that they will keep in there for your pup at night to make sure they are comfortable and happy (as if they'll notice because they are so tired from all the playing!) They also sent me pictures during my trip of Denver playing and hanging out with Jake for my peace of mind (crazy dog lady). The play space area is also huge and temperature controlled. The floors are rubber so your dog is much less likely to get hurt and they also have agility equipment so your dog is guaranteed to never, ever get bored. Their hours are convenient and flexible and both Jake and Lindsay will go out of their way to ensure that your pup is treated like the king or queen they are. I recently enrolled Denver in Daycare during the week too due to her high energy level and she came home last night after a long day of play ready to get a good nights sleep. Would definitely recommend them as they use a service called Pet Check Technology that gives you peace of mind that they are actually coming/going when they should be. Pros: Jake, who manages the walking business, is wonderful- responds quickly, is helpful, and easily accessible. Noah is our primary walker and does GREAT with Levi. Easy scheduling and very helpful! Cons: Levi is a rather...sensitive dog to new people. Sometimes they have a different person walk Levi at last minute, which we can't really prepare for. When you buy a package of walks, this is the cheapest dog walking company in the area by far. Jake (owner) handles clients personally, and his team members are the friendliest and most reliable dog walkers I have used. You can cancel walks as long as the walker is not already on the way (which is the best cancellation policy you can get, and important to me because my work schedule frequently changes at the last minute). Jake is generally very flexible about scheduling additional walks -- so if I know I will be stuck at work late, I can always schedule an additional walk so my pup doesn't suffer the consequences. I also have zero concerns about security (door locking, theft, etc.) after over a year of service. Finally, you receive an email with GPS tracking of the walk (so you know where and how many blocks your dog walked) and notes from the walker. Highly recommend! read more

Doggie Works is amazing! I am a super picky dog owner (I am a dog trainer and a zoo keeper so I expect the best!) and I have had a lot of trouble finding a good daycare/boarding place for my pups. I have tried about 5 throughout the Chicago area and none of them have met my high standards. On top of these standards I also have two dogs with a few behavior issues. Doggie Works accepted us with open arms and keeps working to accommodate my crazy pups. Here are a few examples 1) One of my dogs is a jumper... a crazy jumper she can get out of anything (7 ft fence.. no problem) She also has separation anxiety. She is so bad about jumping she has been kicked out of other daycare's because they were unwilling to work with her and figure out a solution. Doggie Works, on the other hand recognized the problem and have gone out of their way to keep her safe and happy all day when she is with them. She can be a handful and this means so much to me. 2) My husband and I recently went on vacation and we boarded our dogs at Doggie Works. We were leaving early in the morning and coming back late at night. Of course both times were not in their normal pickup and drop off hours. Jen happily allowed us to schedule a early drop off and offered to drop our dogs off at our home the day we would be getting home. She did this at no extra cost and saved us from having to board them an extra night!!!! Lastly their facility is new and big. They have many areas for the dogs to play or relax.
