Dogaholics is truly one of a kind! The staff cares and loves the pups like their own. My dog is always so excited to go to daycare and is absolutely in love with the entire staff. They post instagram updates of the dogs at daycare having fun which is always great to see too. You can even message them and ask for an update on your dog. One of my favorite aspects of dogaholics is that there is an outdoor space. In the winter, they can frolic around in the snow, and in the summer, they bring out mini pools and hoses to keep the dogs cool. It makes me happy knowing that my dog gets to play outside and socialize with other dogs. When I use to have to work late, the staff was always extremely accommodating with late pickups. I truly cannot recommend this place more. Finding a facility you can trust to care for your dog and love them like your own is special. This is that place for us thanks to the Dogaholics team! If I could I'd give this place 0 stars I would !!!! It's my first and LAST time I bring my dog to this groomer. I asked they shave his body and he was given a choppy haircut even after the girl and the front desk went back and forth asking if I know what shave means. I then gave them a photo for reference because I wanted his face to be shaped a certain way and I asked his paws be shaped round. They did nothing I asked, they gave him a unprofessional hair cut. I would like to share my recent experience with Dogaholics. While the staff was very kind during the trial day, I wasn't allowed to see the play area in the back. More frustrating than that was that I was told that they offer transportation services when I first inquired before the trial day. When we were all set to pay and confirm for future services a week later, we were told that they they don't offer transportation services for our radius (and we live only 1.2 miles away)! This left us stranded without daycare for our dog this week. I was really surprised that transportation service information was not clearly provided, and the team is tough to get a hold of by phone and email (I had to email and call several times to get through). read more

Dogaholics is a wonderful place to get your dog groomed. Cleo, my 4 year old husky, usually takes a while to get her coat blown out and bathed (typically up to 2 hrs, sometimes 2.5), but she was in and out within an hour! All I can say is, "meh"... New to the area and decided to get my golden mix his first hair cut to get a break from the heat. Called Dogaholics and first appointment I could get was 11 days in the future. (nice - I must be in the wrong biz!) The day before his appt I got an email saying "if you dont send your shot records in, we will cancel your appointment". I found that rude, as I never got an email confirmation or anything else in ten days asking me to upload said records, or I would have. My dog gets baths all the time, and I've always just brought his shot records with me when I drop off, but... Whatever. Dropped him off and said "first cut, want to make him cooler but open to your advice as I've not had him cut before" - the tech nodded her head, said ok and took my dog. Ok, whatever. They finished in 90 minutes, charged me $100 and put on a bandana. He didn't smell shampooed, and he still has a ton of hair, but his legs and hind quarters seem to have been trimmed. Noticed the next day his nails were super long - maybe that wasn't included in the hundred bucks, guess I should have asked. IDK - not an expert on dog grooming but def wouldn't spend a hundred dollars on THAT experience again... Live and learn i guess. read more

I took my 5 month Pomeranian puppy here for a grooming after finding this place on Yelp. The reviews led me to believe this was an established and reputable place of business. I dropped off my dog and gave simple instructions. Please keep him as "fluffy" and true to a Pomeranian as possible. Tapper the feet and clip his toenails. I picked him up after an hour to find him almost completely shaved. Who shaves a Pomeranian double coat?! His face was full and beautiful before and it has been cut so short that he is unrecognizable. I'm so disappointed. I will never come back especially paying $65 for this. read more

Great grooming experience! My dog is a collie-corgi mix, and not only does her fur grow super fast, but she sheds a lot, so she's a bit high maintenance. They did a great job with her cut, and she 100% benefited from the de-shedding service. She looks (and probably feels) so much lighter now. I was also happy that they were willing to go back in and trim under her tail and down her hind legs. She's definitely got a corgi butt but when I first came in to get her, the cut was a bit choppy. The staff was very nice when I pointed it out, and took her to the back and evened her out. Finally, very grateful they let me sit inside while we waited for our Uber (which took ages to arrive) on this extra cold day. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Their adjustment to Covid has been thoughtful & seamless. Even as they reopened after a mandatory shut down, their staff never broke stride. As a fur dad, I am extremely picky when it comes to selecting a grooming service for my baby. So, I am really grateful that this center provided excellent service, and I believe my Yobi like his new groomer.   His fur grows extremely quickly, but he sheds excessively, making him a high-maintenance pet. But they did an excellent job with his haircut, and he received complete and whole benefit from the deshedding service, and as I watch him being groomed, I can say that he enjoyed their service. The staff is fantastic, and they are always excited to see the dog and take excellent care of them while I board him. The location is really accessible to our home, and the check-in and check-out processes are simple. I believe we will become regulars here, given that the last groomer we used to see has already closed. When I say my dog runs all the way to daycare in the morning, I mean his tongue is genuinely hanging out the side of his mouth by the time he gets there. I can't give Dogaholics enough stars. The staff truly cares about the dogs they are looking after and it is obvious in every interaction you have...but even rarer is they are truly out to serve their members. I have my puppy, Maggie, there on a 3x week monthly package. Unfortunately, due to medical issues, Maggie is temporarily unable to attend daycare by order from the vet. I called to temporarily hold the reoccurring monthly payment until she is able to go full time. Not only did Dogaholics suspend the account, but they refunded me for the half month that Maggie hasn't been able to go to- which was totally unexpected! This is an incredible company for both the puppies and their owners, and I can't wait until Maggie is able to come back full-time! read more

Love this place! Our dog, Diego, has been a regular here since we moved to Chicago over five years ago. Diego is a member of our family, so it's important that we can trust his caregivers during those times when we are not around. The Dogaholics team does not disappoint. This place literally saved my dog's life. Jay, an employee there, was set to feed my dog when he noticed two nails in her packet of dog food . This sort of attention to detail and the welfare of the dogs is typical of Dogaholics. I can't say enough good things about the staff there,especially Ben, Kelly, and Kelsey who steer the ship. I have been taking my dog there 6 days a week for two years. Had such a nice experience here the other day! They only take walk-ins for nail trims, so I popped over there the other day during lunch. The woman immediately was able to take my pup in, and he was in-and-out in less than 5 minutes. He even came out sporting a little cute bandana. I love Dogaholics. Their staff is incredibly kind and caring. I've been taking my dog, Mr. T, to doggy day care for about a year. He always gets super excited when we get close. I've been taking my dog here for a few years. The grooming is generally well done and quick. However, I am surprised by how often they don't know how to put my dogs harness on. It is almost always on her incorrectly or they hand it to me because they don't know how to do it. This past pickup her sweater was on backwards- they had actually put her butt through the head hole and vice versa and stretched the sweater arm holes to make it fit that way. It ruined her sweater. She wears a classic dog harness and sweater. It shouldn't be too much to ask for a "dog a holics" groomer, day care and dog walking center to know how to work a dogs harness and sweater. I refrained from posting for a while but truly every time her sweater and harness are on wrong. There have been a few miscommunications resulting in subpar grooming before. But my main qualm is the inability to handle dogs accessories. I'm sorry that this marks the end of my patronage at dogaholics! read more

I'm okay with paying slightly higher prices for my baby. Yes I am. Especially from an independent store; This is important: If we don't buy from the places that provide the very best we could wake up with Nothing but Wal-Mart and the toothless help therein (Cue background Blood-curdling-Scream track) This is unacceptable. Good quality healthy toys and chews are getting harder for me to find. I've seen the news reports about lead paint on children's toys and read the stamp at the bottom of Petsmart and PetCo's selection- I see "China" and I have no doubt it can't be good for my girl. This is a comfortable stroll from my home, the treats are Princess-approved (for a Rottweiler, she can be extraordinarily discriminating), customizable collars abound and the staff has always treated us both with charm and impressive knowledgeably regarding the selection. Which is good- because I've walked into stores before where the staff sees a large dog (when they were expecting a purse-sized poodle?) and doesn't know what to do or suggest for her! I took my 6 month old goldendoodle here to get her first "adult" haircut and I thought the result was a joke! The cut was all uneven on the sides of her body and the front legs were cut completely short with tufts of long hair left in some spots. She did have some knots when I took her in and those were gone when I picked her up, at the price of looking ridiculous. I have no experience with dog haircuts but I guarantee I could have done a better job. I was rushed to pay as my dog was coming out so I could barely get a good look at her until I got home. I thought about bringing her back but if they can't do it right the first time, what would change with the second time? Even with the 15% off being a first time customer, it was still close to $70. This review is for their dog walking services only. I called to set up an in-home visit to sign paperwork, ask necessary questions, show them how to get in, etc. This all went fine and I was happy with how quickly I could get an appointment for this visit. We started walks the following Monday. In the many forms they had me fill out during the home visit, I indicated I needed walks Monday-Thursday between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm (they require a 2-hour window). The first day came and went, no complaints. They left a note with information about how the walk went, etc. The second day, my husband come home to no note. We called, concerned, since, without a note, I really have no assurance anyone actually came. They assured us someone came at 10:30 but just "forgot" to leave a note. First, 10:30 is an hour sooner than we requested (they had written down that we told them between 11 and 1, so 10:30 was only a "little" early. In my view, a half hour early when I am required to give a 2 hour window is still too early, regardless). We didn't get any information about who the walker was, what he did on his walk, etc, and, to be perfectly honestly, we were skeptical anyone came at all. The third day, I took a picture of exactly how I left the leash, poop bags, treats, etc. on the table so we could compare how we found those items at the end of the day. I got home from work that day to a dog that was losing his mind. Sure enough, I compared the picture I had taken in the morning to the way the relevant items were left on the table, and they weren't moved an inch. I called and left a message indicating that it did not appear my dog had received a walk that day and I expected a call back with an explanation. I did receive a call back about an hour or so later. They admitted that my dog did not receive a walk, that there are a mix-up since there are two dogs with the same name. They offered me my next walk for free and apologized. I understand that mistakes happen, but the fact that we are unsure if walk #2 really did happen, walk #3 definitely didn't, and their systems are so poor that they can't keep two dogs with the same name straight, we had to take our business elsewhere. I was really excited about finding this company, as I liked the idea of it being our "one stop shop" for all things dog-related (e.g. boarding, grooming, daycare, walks), but now I am focusing on business providers that do one thing really well. The peace of mind knowing my dog is actually not being left alone all day is worth it. read more

While the prices at this pet-boutique are a little bit more expensive, I don't mind paying the price once in a while. The selection of collars and leashes is amazing compared to what you see in traditional "pet stores." They have varieties that include sporting teams (of course the cubs!) to really cute designs such as bees, ladybugs, and whales. Love them! The staff is super attentive, and are very knowledgeable. I also really like that the staff is not pushy in the sense that they don't make you feel guilty if you don't buy premium dog food every time you go in there. Conversely, if you ask them what the pros and cons of the different foods are, they will educate you. I have been bringing my bulldog, Lulu, here for over a year. I cannot tell you how much she loves her days at daycare. The staff is amazing, my fiancee and I refer to Aaron as the dog whisperer. Last week, when we picked her up, one of the staff had even put her in a bandana, because she remembered it matched her collar when she saw it. In addition, they are always up to date on her vaccinations. Whenever something is coming due, they give us an alert and request updated vet records.
