I have been using WAG Hotel Lincoln Park several times for boarding my elderly dog when his regular dog sitter isn't available. They are always friendly and helpful. Had a recent experience when my dog was there who stopped eating. When they couldn't reach me (I was in Asia) they proactively got him to a vet to check it out. He is fine, but appreciated them taking the bull by the horns in the interest of my dog's health. Wayne (Manager) and Dan (Asst. Manager) have been very helpful and responsive. read more

At first , I was very nervous to bring in my two pitties in for daycare , but the nice front desk people assured me they would be taken care of . Dan helped me set up my account and gave me updates on their day/behavior. I had one of them do that individual play and saw he looked very anxious in his room. One of the managers , Olivia took him out for some extra time and sent me some pictures! I overall enjoyed them coming in for daycare and will for sure be bringing them in for a soon boarding stay. The only thing I'd change is if we can get personalized videos. read more

Wayne, Gustov and the entire staff at Wag Hotels in Lincoln Park took such good care boarding our dog while we were on vacation for 9 days. We were sent daily photo updates and the app allowed us to view various play rooms where our dog was socializing. All of our detailed feeding and medication notes were followed perfectly and the attention and care our dog received far and away exceeded our expectations! Our dog was happy to see us when we picked her up and she was not stressed out al all, which is usually the case when she's separated from us. I've been debating whether I should write this review for a long time... but issues have persisted with my dog since boarding at Wag in May. I boarded my dog here for a week while I was in Europe. This was not ideal for me as I typically opt for dog sitters especially for something a week long, however I had recently moved here and could not find a sitter in time. I left my cousin as the emergency contact with specific instruction to contact him if my dog seemed anxious or stressed because I left her trazodone with him. My dog ended up getting Giardia here which I know is just a risk of boarding, especially for an extended stay. But I think it was not handled well. If my dog was showing signs of being ill (she had soft stool and vomited but my emergency contact was not notified and I wasn't notified until the day I was returning and the notifications were odd - I.e. I called to check in later in the day on the vomiting they had told me about and was told "her stool is no longer soft" which was not previously mentioned to me as an issue...). I had specifically requested that my cousin be notified for issues because I was out of the country with limited service. So that was all odd but what really upset me was how it was handled after I picked her up. For one - my dog had silver marks on her teeth so she was clearly trying to chew on something while in her suite which thankfully did not cause damage to her teeth but certainly shows that she was anxious or distressed and could have used the trazodone. Wag just denied there being any metal my dog could chew on. But ultimately my dog didn't eat for two days after I picked her up, she vomited a lot, and started having bloody diarrhea so I had to take her to an emergency vet. This is where it's important to note that I left a shirt and toy with my dog to be put with her in her room for comfort during her stay at Wag. The symptoms she was showing at this time could have been a number of things, but while I was at the emergency vet I basically had to decide if I wanted to observe her to see if she worsened or to do other expensive diagnostic testing including an X-ray to see if she ingested anything while at Wag. I called wag twice to see where my shirt and dog toy was and was told it was "probably in the laundry" when I informed the staff that this was critical information to help inform her clinical care at the emergency vet. (They did not locate the shirt and toy until like 2 days after that.) At this point I was frustrated and very stressed and calling out of work and spending loads on vet care. I was frustrated with the lack of information and also changing stories I had gotten re: my dog's symptoms while in Wag's care and I requested a call back from a manager. They did not call me until probably 36-48 hours later which honestly felt like it would have been too late if it had been an obstruction. Ultimately a local non-emergency vet diagnosed my dog with Giardia a day after our emergency vet visit and she took well to the treatment, however the effects of my dog's stay at Wag linger still. After her boarding my dog developed destructive separation anxiety which she did not previously have. It's taken over 6 weeks to try and pinpoint what triggers it because it is sporadic. But the closest thing I can get (and this is speculative) is that if my dog is at home and has to go to the bathroom she gets destructive in instances where she would have previously been fine holding it a little for me to return home. She also has panic attacks when we entered our new daycare facility the first couple of times (she previously loved daycare and never displayed such anxiety). So I have concerns that my dog did not have adequate bathroom breaks while sick with Giardia at this facility which has led to destructive separation anxiety. Ultimately, I was not pleased with how this situation was handled at all and I would want to know about it if I were a prospective client. read more

I can always rely on Wag for boarding and daycare for Petunia!! They take excellent care of her and are always so accommodating and get me in when I need to drop her off last minute!! She always leaves so tired but is always so happy to be there and hang with all of her people friends read more

Our dog Rocky stayed at Wags for 30 days and he was well cared for during his time there. They kept us updated on a regular basis and send fun photos 1-2 times per day. We are very pleased with our experience at Wags. The staff is outstanding and the facility is clean. We will continue to use Wags. Rocky loves it there. read more

We left our 1yo puppy with Wag for 7 nights while on vacation. It was his first time ever away from us, so we really wanted to get him a nice room with a camera and add-ons like extra treats and walks etc. we noticed from the camera that his room was MUCH smaller than the photos we viewed online and looked entirely different. He didn't get his memory foam mattress like we paid extra per-day for and we only saw him get his peanut butter kong once. When we called, they admitted they forgot about the mattress and daily kongs and started providing immediately, but this was already 3 days into his stay. Disappointing. They also confirmed he was in the right room, which is also disappointing because every photo on the site and Yelp shows a beautiful, hotel-like room with a big bed, mattress, and TV. Do dogs really need a TV? Probably not, but it was marketed specifically as having TVs with dog-friendly programs and we liked the idea of this to drown out the noise of other neighboring dogs (again, first time away from us and he gets stressed around other dogs). Overall, our experience was fine I guess, as our dog came home safe and healthy but we're pretty bummed about the severe misleading marketing and forgetfulness of paid add-ons. Had the marketing been accurate, this probably would have been a better review. Sharing a screenshot of what we saw from the camera of our dogs "suite" room. We would have been fine with it had we known from the jump this is what we were booking, but we feel we paid far too much for what we received. Staff was friendly; however the place smells terrible. From the lobby on, the smell was a bit overwhelming. I know it's a dog day care, but the smell was still too much. One of my dogs developed a fungal infection a couple days after a day care visit, coincidence, maybe, but I don't think so. read more

I had a great experience at the West Loop location but unfortunately I wasn't near the area so I decided to use the Lincoln Park location for Arlo and it was just as a great experience as it was in West Loop. The staff were so friendly and very knowledgeable as well. They recommended a few extra services for Arlo since he was new to the location and they wanted him to be comfortable and get to know the staff more too. Thank you for taking good care of my boy! This site used to be owned by a private company. It was fabulous! Easy to get reservations. Friendly staff who knew and were invested in my pets and their well being. Now you have to reserve through a clunky website. Each time they ask you to fill in a form for pets name, bread, date of birth. If you call you go to some customer service hub outside of Chicago. It's impossible to call them directly. It's a shame my dogs have been clients since 2013! Will be looking for a new sitter. read more
