I was charged $53.00 For a false fee . I called the manager Diana to complain about it and ask for a refund. The manager called me and didn't want to have the owners call me to let them know my experience so instead of doing that she now won't let my dog come to Doggin around anymore ? This was after a serious heart attack I had and boarding the dog for six days and paying full price They then charged a full day price for picking up the dog after her bath at 3 PM and here's the response I got from the company manager Diana. I would hope the owners would call to find out what's going on in there doggy daycare. Diana should really be fired. I wanted to follow up regarding our conversation and your review. I was disappointed to read some of the statements made about me and our team, as I feel they do not accurately reflect the conversation or the steps I took to address your concerns. When you brought the late pickup fee to my attention, I listened to your concerns and credited the fee back to your account as a resolution. I also attempted to explain the policy behind your concerns, not to dismiss them, but to provide context. My goal was to have a respectful conversation and find a solution. I was very much in disbelief of the concerns, and I respectfully told you, they're concerns that have not been brought up by many. But those are your concerns and feelings and I respect that and I gave you space to express them. During our call, I felt that the conversation shifted from addressing the concern into criticism of my intentions and my role as a manager. I took a moment to process what you were sharing because I wanted to respond professionally rather than react emotionally. I respect that you have the right to share your experience and request further review from ownership. Your additional concerns will be communicated to them. However, after reviewing the situation, we, along with ownership, have decided that continuing a business relationship is no longer the right fit, and you and your pets are no longer eligible for services at Doggin' Around or any affiliated facilities. Regarding your payments, any transaction made today will be voided. For any prior charges that require a refund, please come into the facility with the card used for payment so we can process that refund. I'm sorry that after four years this is where we have arrived, but we believe this decision is the best path forward. read more

This is a bit overdue. I used to take my first two doggies. This was before the pandemic. Then we had the pandemic and they both passed (2021 & 2022). Fast forward to now, I adopted two little rescues from the ASPCA. I wanted them to have time with other little doggies and called up Doggie Around. My information was still in their system (from my other doggies). They updated the information and offered me condolences for my loss. I had an outpatient procedure coming up and was hoping to get my two new doggies into the doggie daycare. Well they made it happen. I took them on a Friday for their initial assessment and was able to drop them off that following Monday. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this. It was such a relief to be able to drop off my little loves and know they are safe and having a great time. I feel their prices are reasonable and most importantly, the staff is super nice and they remembered my little doggies names when I took them back on Monday. If you treat your dog like a child, we definitely recommend this place. We have been bringing our crazy and super friendly Boxer here weekly for two years and it's the best money we've ever spent. We love the team but Bandit adores them. As soon as we approach the daycare he's threatening to jump out of the car and into the building. Despite being there for 10 hours, he doesn't want to leave or he attempts to take a team member on his way out. As crazy as it sounds, our dog is petty and holds grudges, so to see him so willing and eager to be there speaks volumes about the quality of care he is receving. We love that they have several play groups by size and age and maintain a great dog-to-human ratio. This was something we really concerned about when we first started shopping around for daycares. We looked at five before choosing for Doggin Around. Bandit has also been boarded there. They allowed us to drop off tons of stuff with Bandit to make sure he was comfortable. It gives us great peace of mind that they have an overnight person on site. Yes, your dog will smell awful when they leave but that just means they had an amazing time with all their little furry friends. Highly recommend Doggin around! My sweet Pittie, Millie Brown, is always so excited when she gets there. She's like, peace out Mom, my doggie friends are here and I'm ready to play!! I really appreciated how they tested her first to make sure she was compatible with other dogs and thankfully she was and is now a part of the Hyper Big Dog group, which is absolutely perfect for her. I like how they have the different groups based on size and personality. Each pup started off in puppy socialization and puppy classes offered at the facility, then went on to do weekly day care, and even boarding when we travelled and couldn't bring them along. I want to start this review off by saying how high of hopes i had for this place considering i've heard great things about and they have pretty good reviews. Prior to taking my dog in for an assessment, i asked what their process was during the assessment and i was told that they introduce the dog with staff and other dogs to see how they react and how well they get along with everyone, and that all sounded great. My dog is very friendly and has no past issues with people or dogs. A little over 2 hours into his assessment I get a phone call that i need to pick him up because he is very nervous and had torn his paws up by scratching at the walls. I was confused initially, because i'm thinking they tried socializing him and he just wasn't having it. When i arrive, it turns out they had stuck him in a kennel and left him there. In my mind, of course he is going to freak out while left completely alone in an unfamiliar setting. I asked them why they had left him alone and that i thought they were going to socialize him with the dogs and staff? Their response to me was that they don't introduce them right away. The disconnect for me was that he had been there for over 2 hours and still had not been socialized with the other dogs. If I wanted him to be left alone, i would just leave him at home and not try to put him in a daycare, right...When they brought my dog to me they told me he was not allowed to go back due to liability reasons. They showered my Layla girl with the same love our family would during her boarding stay, and that means everything. This place had great Yelp reviews so I thought I'd give it a try... unfortunately when I arrived there were several police officers inquiring about the warehouse and safety protocols. I'm guessing this is in reference to the recent review where a dog escaped and faced a terrible fate? I didn't know this dropping off our dog for our evaluation and won't write this review based off that but I did feel eerie because they were preoccupied with speaking to the officers and didn't tend to me/ tried to have me off to the side to avoid hearing. This daycare does not have any outside areas for the dogs to play in, they do have a small portion leading outside for dogs to stretch and do some of their business but I would say it's not enough room for them to play or hang out in. I believe they mentioned they hope to get permits? Or will build some soon. When I looked into the facility window I could smell the heavy amount of urine through the closed door and when my pup came home after about 4 hours of evaluation and play we had to give him a shower because he smelled so bad. We're used to dropping off our dogs at daycares but he rarely comes home smelling so badly that I'm assuming they are playing and rolling in dog pee while they are there or it's just not adequately cleaned up. When I picked my dog up there wasn't much communication from the front staff on how he did but that he was welcome back. I would've liked just a few more phrases of how he did and that would've been fine. Overall we have a few day cares that we frequent but I don't think this will be one of them. read more

This is a top notch facility and I just cannot say enough about Jennifer, the owner, and her excellent staff. When I'm out and about with Gracie it's not at all uncommon to run into other dog owners who also take their dogs here and who feel the same way! Gracie is two-and-a-half, has been coming to Doggin Around since she was five months old and I couldn't be happier about my decision to trust them with her safety and well being. Because I want her to be able to run and play in a safe environment, Doggin Around has become an important part of our lives; not only has she made many friends but when I drop her off I know she is well supervised and playing with other small dogs who are also socialized and vaccinated. I was also glad she became familiar with the facility at a young age because even though she developed severe separation anxiety as she got older, it wasn't an issue since she already knew the staff so she wasn't afraid. Doggin Around is literally the only other place besides my own home where I can leave her for any meaningful period of time without worry of her becoming anxious; in other words it has become her home away from home, and I trust them implicitly. Jennifer, the owner, is a dedicated professional with the highest standards and this is evident in the continued success of her facility. All of the employees, and Casie specifically, have been exceptionally welcoming. From the moment I first walked into this business and inquired about bringing my dog here, they answered all my questions and concerns, and made me feel very comfortable about bringing my dog in for her assessment. Today was my dogs first day there since her assessment. Again, we were both greeted by Casie and staff. They took the time to make her feel comfortable as she was quite anxious upon arrival. On top of that, the one on one treatment she receives there really makes a difference in her disposition. Staff has taken into consideration the needs of each animal, and helps them adapt accordingly, Even going as far as helping my dog become more social with others. LOVE IT HERE. They are always SO nice and it's super affordable, which is lovely for those of us that love our fur babies, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg every time we take them to day care. I have a medium size husky boy who just has the best time every time he goes. If you know huskies, they are very hyper and won't stop. Especially my boy. But every time I take him here, they knock him out when we get home (see pictures). Thank you guys so much for always giving him the best time! My dog has been going to this daycare for the last 6 years. On Wednesday I took her and they put her in with the smaller dogs on every other time she was put in with the larger dogs. She got in a fight with a dog and then they put my dog in a cage and I didn't receive a call. The new management has poor communication and horrible customer service. I discovered Doggin Around Daycare from a coworker who used to work there! I had never seen or heard about them (and now I know why, it's a little hidden lol). But once I found it I was greeted immediately! The owner of the facility was so kind and patient! I had about a million questions and then some and she reassured me my dogs would be fine and just really welcoming and securing over all. I did the assessment and things went great. However, I forgot to make an appointment for boarding services and they were still able to accept me last minute for a 3 day trip! They really saved my life that weekend! When I got my pups back, they must've played with them like crazy bc for the first three days they were so rambunctious and wanted to play fetch 24/7! ..maybe they were excited to see me! You know you have found a great place, when you tell your dog 'let's go to camp' (that's what we call it) and he immediately starts hopping and jumping around with excitement. Jennifer and her team have been amazing with our dog Marcus!! We adopted him three months ago and noticed how aggressive he was towards other dogs, and just did not get along with any dogs. I called Jennifer and she said to bring him in for a 4 hour trial to see if he would be a good fit. He fit right in and has gone now for full days and overnights. Even when he has been on a special diet, their team was more than happy to help take him, and care for him. His behavior has taken a complete 180, and he is so much calmer around other dogs and even friendlier towards some. Jennifer and her staff are absolutely amazing! Ziggy has been going to Doggin' Around EVERY DAY, M - F, for 4 years now and I have boarded Ziggy with Doggin' when I've traveled. It gives me a great sense of comfort that I can count on Jennifer and her staff to take care of his every need ... keeping him safe, giving him love and yes, medication, when needed. Ziggy had an accident a year ago which paralyzed his back legs. Post-surgery, during the 8 weeks of required crate rest, Jennifer agreed to take Ziggy during the day so I could work. She and her staff gave him his meds 3 times a day, carried him outside to potty and even worked with him on his rehab exercises. Ziggy is 100% today, walking and running, due in no small part to the care and love provided by Jennifer and her team. When people comment on what a sweet dog Ziggy is, I always tell them that his time at Doggin' Around is partly responsible for how well socialized he is. I have been a customer at Doggin Around for almost 9 years. The last 2 times my dogs have been to day care. They have come home scratching and chewing on themselves. FLEA INFESTATION. MY DOGS HAVE NEVER HAD FLEAS. This means they have to go to the groomer be defleaed. We have the yard sprayed for fleas and bugs that might get on the dogs. The beds are washed weekly and sprayed with Cedar oil. the oil keeps the beds fresh and flea free. The staff checked for fleas when we first started going to Doggin. They are not doing that anymore. When my dog died in 2021, the entire staff sent a card with the sweetest, most heartfelt recollections of Rogan. After a frustrating search for doggie daycares in the Ventura area that could accommodate an early Sunday drop off, we found Doggin' Around Daycare. We couldn't take our fur baby to the Channel Islands, so we needed a safe and convenient daycare to leave her for the day. From the reservation to the pick up, the staff of Doggin' Around was so accommodating and friendly. And they were so helpful when we realized that we were going to arrive back in Ventura later than expected and arranged for one of their wonderful staff to stay late. This is to correct a previous review inadvertently written under my husband's name in which I wrote that I I left my dog for an overnight stay on 8/6/2022. When I picked her up, her right ear was bloody. The staff denied knowledge of a dog fight. They said she must have caught her ear on something. In the first review, I had wrongly said that the collar and leash were missing when I picked up my dog. That is not correct. My husband found the collar and leash in our other car. I wanted to love this place, and started out fantastic, however I quickly learned that the staff was negligent in caring for my pup - who was in a private area and somehow was able to pick up and swallow an empty poop bag !! I have no idea how such a thing could happen in a private area. The answers I was given do not add up - and was left with a very expensive emergency vet bill. It's very unfortunate, as I mentioned day 1 was great - I would not recommend day care or boarding for a puppy - as it seems the staff is not properly trained on working with puppy's. :-( read more

I went to Doggin'around to inquire about their puppy grooming package in person. Someone had told me that they have really good deals for puppies. The lady at the front desk was really nice and confirmed the 2 puppy grooming plans: one for $30 and one for $45. I scheduled an appointment for my puppy a few days later for plan #2. Imagine my surprise when I picked up my puppy and was told that I had to pay $85!! There was a different lady at the front desk who rudely told me that it was my responsibility to check the pricing on their website! Mind you I checked the pricing in person! In addition, I checked their website afterwards and they are not showing the price for the 2 puppy packages! My puppy is under 8 lbs. Ridiculous! Lesson learned. Never going there again! UPDATE: I am absolutely not familiar with all the different packages that you guys have. All I know is that I booked puppy plan #2 for $45. And now reading your reply, $45 for a trim around the face, feet and sani is not what I was told at all when I scheduled my appointment. I can do that at home by myself. And what is sani? And what do customers get with the $30 plan #1 for their puppies, if this is all we get for $45! I never asked for the works package. All I asked when I got there was for his body to be trimmed as well as his face and and feet. Half of the length he had. That's it! At this point, someone should have explained to me this was a completely different package and cost. Especially when dealing with a new customer! What would be very helpful is for you guys to have a printed document showing all the different packages with the detail and prices inside your store to avoid any confusion! In addition, i just checked your website. Under a la carte, the sani/face/feet trim (no bath) is $35. Guess plan #2 for puppies at $45 is not so special after-all. There will be no next time.
