Food quality, wait staff, and atmosphere was far greater than any other restaurant I've visited during this weeklong work trip to Ridgeland, MS. The decor and menu was most interesting; I didn't take time to fully grasp the theme of the decor, but it relates to board games manufactured by the parent company. Went there with family last night to celebrate kids birthday. We brought a birthday cake to celebrate and was told by Joe the manager that it would be $5 per person to use the cake. That surprised me as when we go to a local Italian Restaurant it has never been a issue. Also when asked about a kids menu the waitress said they don't have one. We are not really a family place. That surprised me as were kids games in the shelves. As others have said the food was good though a little pricey. This board game bar is something Jackson has needed for a while; we need more themed bars. The food and drinks are good but naturally you go there for the games. They have a massive double wall of games where you can borrow a game to sit and play, or you can purchase one to take with you. You can also bring in your own. We were pleasantly surprised with how good this restaurant was! We were just driving through while on a road trip and stopped for lunch, and we really enjoyed everything we got! We started with the Hungry Hero's appetizer and loved it! We even took the left over pimento cheese home for later. Then we got the Bayou Dragon pizza with no bell pepper and the Fire Bawl pizza. They were both really good and unique! My husband and I both agreed that the Fire Bawl was our favorite. I was skeptical about it since I'm not crazy about chili, but it was JUST enough chili to give it a good flavor but not overpower it! Hard to describe so I'll say "interesting": People of all ages, playing board games in a bar. We arrived at 2:30 on a rainy Saturday and the staff was overwhelmed but friendly. When we paid our ticket, our waitperson said "sorry, we just got slammed all at once" and that made sense. There appeared to be only 3 people working in the whole establishment. Here's what to expect: There are lots of games on walls and on tables. You can play them for free even though some have price stickers on them. Order appetizers and drinks - both are excellent choices! The pizzas are big enough for 2 people to share, the hot dogs and sandwiches are very tasty. We LOVED the pretzel bites and "hungry hero" charcuterie board. TIP: Bring your own hand sanitizer, there's just something about sharing cards and came pieces while eating in the near post-covid era. We wanted to play but also wanted to eat and we did not come prepared with enough hand sanitizer. This is a terrific place to hang out - the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is very relaxed, the food is a step WAY above bar food. Now that we know what to expect, I'm sure we'll return. This place had such a good selection of pizzas and very good service. It's our fault that we were a little late picking up, otherwise I think the pizza would've been off the charts. But even a little bit cold, it was pretty great. We really liked the flavor of the sauce and the crust. We ordered a keys cheese, one with onions and jalapeños, and the Bayou special. This place is very eccentric. Feels like a harry potter pub/eatery. The retro games section is a nice touch that accentuates the feel of the restaurant. I ordered the chili cheese tater tots (Midas touch) for the appetizer which was delicious and probably the only place in Jackson-metro area where you can get a quality chili cheese tater tot that's 3 times better than sonic. For entrees my gf and I ordered the Graboid pizza and the pit bull. The pizza was an amalgamation of beef, ham, bacon and other meats and was not too bad- 4/10 . The Pit bull was basically a chili cheese hotdog that wasn't bad either- probably a 5/10 (it also came with Mac and cheese which was delicious 7/10) The standout though was the "Dough, Ray, Egon" 9/10 which was a chocolate chip cookie in a cast iron skillet topped with ice cream and chocolate drizzle. If you love cookies with ice cream, this is a must have and is so good it warrants a trip to this restaurant just for this dessert. The only cast iron skillet cookie somewhat better is at walk-ons but other wise this is the definitive #2 best cookie dessert in the Jackson-Metro area. read more

We had dinner here tonight and it was everything I hoped it would be. We had an appetizer "Midas Totch" with fries instead of tots. The fries were perfection and tolerated the chili while still remaining crisp. For dinner we had the Rubeus Hagrid with slaw and "The Redshirt" with added mushrooms and olives. The food was hot and fresh and the service was as equally good! We met the owner and conversed about the concept. If you haven't tried this place come out play games with family and friends. This is such a unique and fun place. They have found a way to build and atmosphere for children on one side of the restaurant and adults on the other side. The atmosphere is very relaxed and unique for this area. There are not many places around here that promote nerd culture like Dogmud does. They have good drinks (I'm partial to Butter-beer myself). The food can be hit or miss. My main recommendation would be to ask for extra sauce on whatever kind of sandwich you order because they have skimped out on me multiple times.
