Our dog, Dublin, can't wait to get in the door when we drop him off. The staff is wonderful, very warm and welcoming. He has been in for day care and boarding. One of the reasons we chose Dog Spot for boarding is because Dublin can sleep where he chooses--on a bed, sofa or dog bed. He can't be crated so that was a big plus. She is always happy and excited when we get out of the car to head into DogSpot. The team here is so personable and knows us by name, gives us a warm welcome each time. It is easy to set up day care or boarding through their app or by calling in. Sometimes I need to drop her off within a short timeframe and they are always flexible. Boarding a dog is always risky. Things can go wrong, and the dogs sometimes don't like it much. And you can't exactly interview your dog afterwards to find out how it went. My dog is a 10-year-old terrier, and in those 10 years I have tried maybe 5 different boarding places. Until I found DogSpot, I had been boarding my Gracie at a well-known place in Mission Valley. It was ok, but it was very expensive, it was a 30-mile drive from my home in Carlsbad, it didn't have very good cameras, and she always seemed to be a little out of sorts when I picked her up. I decided to look around again, and found DogSpot. I took Gracie there twice for daycare to see how she fit in, and then I took her there for 18 days while we went to a family reunion in Maine. When you've had a dog for 10 years, you can learn a lot about how she feels just by watching. DogSpot has the best video setup I've ever seen at a dog place, and I watched her carefully for a day or two and then checked in several times a day after that. She always looked happy and active and energetic. There is a resident dog groomer and washer, in the building. Not part of DogSpot, but they certainly get along and work well together. I had them give Gracie their premium wash before I brought her home, and she looked great. When Gracie came home she immediately returned to her at-home behavior, with no "out of sorts" transition period. Gracie liked DogSpot, and so do I. I'll certainly take her there again. read more

If you want big vet bills, be sure to send your dog to dogspot. The place is being run by 20 year olds who didn't notice how aggressive another dog was being toward my dog. I sent my dog to daycare thinking it was safer than the park but not so much! I had to discover the bite on my own, they didn't tell me about it. Then after I reached out, I was told the owner, Carlene, was going to contact me but she never did! I had to reach out a week later to find out what they found when they watched the camera footage. Carlene STILL didn't reach out to me. Nor had she ever apologized and that dog, who bit my dog, still goes to daycare. They tried to down play it of course. To make matters worse, my dog brought Giardia home with him and he was asymptomatic for 2 weeks so all of my dogs then had it. It's been a nightmare. When I told Carlene I wanted a refund for my package, she wrote me a long winded email about how the Giardia came from somewhere else (my dog doesn't go anywhere but dogspot) and never even addressed the dog bite. Then my refund was $34 even though I had multiple days left, but because she's arrogant, she thought it was the smart idea to refund me as if I were paying by the day. I'm currently $2000 deep in vet bills between the bite and parasites that now all 3 of my dogs have. read more

Previously I was utilizing Rover to book people to walk my dog throughout the day when I was away at work which was quite pricey by the hour. My sweet baby Fuji loves going to Dogspot!! We have checked out every doggy day care and boarding facility in the area and Dogspot is the best. Everyone knows Fuji by name and gets excited when he comes in. They have always communicated any issues they observe with me and are very transparent (they even have a window where you can watch the dogs and cameras so you can check in with your pup during the day). Carlene, the owner runs a great operation! Whenever I am in the lobby to drop off or pick up I hear her taking the time to speak with customers about their fur babies or leading the team about processes. The girls who work there are so sweet and love to play ball with him!!! When I pick him up he always has the biggest smile on his face!! I was very nervous to leave Fuji overnight for the first time. I don't know how they keep track of all of the dogs that go through there, but when we left him overnight for boarding they had notes about his stay and when he woke up during the night etc. I was very impressed!! They even have a taxi that will pick up or drop off if you need it. The guy who does the drop offs and pick ups is really sweet too!! No other daycare offers that!! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I cannot recommend this place enough. At first, I felt bad bringing my pup because it's hard to leave him but quickly realized that my pup LOVES it here. He was pulling me inside, wagging his tail and so excited and I didn't even have a chance to say bye. Such a great spot and also very inexpensive compared to other local doggy day care spots. The groomer who comes in Wednesday's and Saturdays, Monica, is also amazing. She did an amazing job on my doodle and I'm so happy. So excited to have learned about this spot as a recommendation. They even do doggy report cards and also give you access to the live cams to see how they're doing throughout the day. So very impressed.
